What is the largest swimbait you will put on a spinnerbait?
Are most BR members adverse to swimbaits on a spinnerbait? I’m sort of surprised. I admit to having only tried the yum pulse but it worked quite well for me in the past and I think even got more bites for me in the fall of the year. I like no trailer and split tail trailers also. I just think my Bango Blade frames could use a little more lift.

Why Bassheads have multiple rods & reels ~
And, as I saw in some of your videos and photos @A-Jay, you might carry a ton of rods and tackle, but the front deck of your boat seems to remain pretty uncluttered while fishing. Doesn't hurt to have a bunch of options available below deck that aren't crowding things. Even in a kayak, sometimes I convince myself to bring only 3 or 4 rods, and those sometimes wind up being the days that I wish I brought my other 2-3 rods.

Cali 420 color
Zoom has added an exciting new color California 420 to their lineup. California 420 features a dark (almost black) top with red flake and a watemelon red bottom. California 420 is an awesome color. It’s one of my favorites. You can simulate the dark back, light belly coloration of some forage.

Bass Fishing in 2040
If we make it to 2040, I hope to remember to bump this thread when 2040 comes. We can look back on this and see who is right about the world of bass fishing in 2040.

I just noticed that the thread is yours. I shot you a message. Even though thread is yours I think @roadwarrior would be happy if thread stays on topic plus easier to talk to you in messaging.

HA ? I'll get right back to it. You caught me slacking sir Dunkin donuts is great before 6:30 in the morning after walking donuts in the woods trying to find a shiny sign with a hole puncher. Sudden pairs of eyes staring at you through the woods add to the excitement!

Compact spinnerbaits
Sir, I thought I told you last time on a post but I can't/shouldn't fish right now. Still healing an injury and have been for past two months... basically whole time I been here. So far injury is not interfering with the stuff that I need to do here but I just got to work a short while ago. We'll see what happens. I'm here till Feb and possibly later.

Compact spinnerbaits
Speaking of compact spinnerbaits I'm thinking of starting to toss around a 3/16oz Strike King Lil Mr. Money when I want something smaller and lighter in shallow water. I hear those things are great but I probably won't be able to resist making a few changes to them.

You catch some real real nice fish. Your last prespawn was super impressive while some of us Northerners at the time were huddled next to a fire trying to stop the shivers ? If your bass - and particularly your big bass - don't like spinnerbaits, that's okay. But you mention you've got shad and that's all the better. If you send me some descriptions of the places you like to fish I can offer some suggestions on what to throw.

What makes a good buzz bait rod and reel
iRod Genesis III Swim and Vibrating jig rod 7'2" MH MF is my favorite for buzzbaits. It's the first iRod I bought and since then I have to say it seems to fish a little clumsier than other rods for some reason. But I like it very much for buzzbaits and used it for spinnerbaits for a long time because of its excellent hookup ratio. The blank seems to be perfect for buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. I throw it on a slower reel than most Abu REVO Winch 5:4:1. Use Nichols, Cavitron, and Lunker Lure buzzbaits

what is the furthest you drive to catch bass. long distance haulers?
Living in NC I had one okay pond only 5min away, and access to "ol muddy" sometimes. Otherwise I had plenty of very nice options with larger lakes. All at least 1hr away, but I had absolutely no reason to go further than 1.5-2 hr. NY no reason to go further than 25min. I had several excellent ponds within easy reach and a couple great small lakes too. Ain't fished enough in MO to say a lot but I have some very nice options close enough also So... dependent on where I am.
