  1. 12lb and 15lb big game seem to behave much differently. I like both and think either would be fine. Can anybody explain what the difference is between these two lines that I’m feeling? Is the 12lb less elastic and less memory? And if you say “one is thinner” I’ll…. I’ll… ?
  2. Stuff for shaky head. Needed to stock up on heads
  3. You just couldn’t let that three year old comment get away could you? ?

  5. Oh boy…. Yeah you might get a little stronger doin those ???
  6. Why in the heck do you need an EWG hook on a thin trick worm?
  7. @ironbjorn do you shaky head?
  8. @Bluebasser86 probably has a video of a bluegill eating a glide bait
  9. Lubarsky's AKA Bait Monkey's Law of Spinnerbladin: No matter how many spinnerbaits you have, there is always another spinnerbait
  10. Hey ya'll, Okay I'm doubling up here on posts started. My next question is about faster current. So having never fished in current before, when I first encountered quicker current and tried to reel a spinnerbait through it and saw it do all sorts of crazy stuff, I was like... woah... I am wondering if.... when you are fishing faster current, is it imperative that if you are fishing a moving lure that it run back to you in the same direction as the current? Do you lean more towards bottom contact lures in fast current? I have kinda familiarized myself with the concept that if I want to fish on the backside of a rock, I need to often cast upstream so that it will land on the bottom close to the rock. I guess what I'm asking is if the "crazy stuff" that I see a moving lure do in faster current when it is traveling a path different than current direction is... okay?
  11. I feel welcome! Go answer my river smallmouth question in the smallmouth forum now. You've been tasked ?
  12. Hey ya'll, First off would like to say that reading posts in this smallmouth forum has been immensely educational for me in a short time. So thank you for all who participate here. I really have enjoyed the little bit of river smallmouth fishing that I've done here in Missouri and see myself doing it more. So, I've seen a lot of posts about current eddy's, seams, breaks, and I've been trying to familiarize myself with them. My first question is what terms regarding current should I be familiar with when river smallmouth fishing? So eddy, seam, break... what else? And how much attention do you pay to the actual path of the river or overall geography when selecting spots? Are current bends or other directional changes valuable to you? What about the presence of springs or creeks that flow in? Better, what is most important to you when selecting a spot? I am limited to bank fishing at the moment so I've been checking out some spots. I talked to a local recently and they told me that the best stretches of the river I fish for smallmouth possess deeper water and nearby springs to cool the water. Sort of corroborates other stuff I've heard. But want to hear what is valuable to you when selecting a place to fish and what terms I should know. Thank you!
  13. Funny... this thread didn't start with "Hey ya'll,". How can you be sure that this is LrgmouthShad? You can't be sure.
  14. Hey ya'll, Not really sure if something like this will take off or if a thread like this has been posted in past but figured I'd start a thread for people to share their cooking/baking creations for ya'll that like to do either of these. Maybe share photos of some fish you cook up. Anyways, I made some homemade biscuits again. My fourth time making them I think. This batch turned out really nice. I like one of these with breakfast. Let's see what ya'll making!
  15. Got it! I'll give that a try! My old roommate from Georgia used to tell me that it was embarrassing that I had to use a rod n reel for catching fish. He grew up noodling for catfish.
  16. It is better, not all the way healed. I stopped fishing after catching the fish photo'd because I felt a pinching sensation in my back that concerned me. Feels much better this A.M but I want to take next couple days off regardless and then try again for short spurts bank fishing. I said "back" but really my trouble is something surrounding my shoulder blade. The pain is centered on my back though, underneath my scapula and sometimes radiating in other directions. Seen doctors and started PT; I'll be fine. Thanks for asking man
  17. How do I catch bass? Do I use 16lb fluoro and a Deps Cover Scat? Will other lures work or are they just pieces of doodoo?
  18. You like gene larew salty ringworm and zoom ultravibe speed worm, both have small tail sections. So does mister twister phenom. Why the preference towards smaller tail sections? More meat? More subtle movement? Just what you have confidence in? I mighta asked this question a while back and don’t remember, not sure
  19. One lure that I think really excels in particular in the summertime is the plastic worm. I like the zoom mag 2 on a texas rig or zoom finesse on a shaky head. Edit: P.S you could put your trick worms on a shaky. Learn the shaky if you have not. It is worth your time and not only for small fish.
  20. Some people round here seem to think I am awfully country. Like y’all…. you ain’t even seen country I promise.
  21. I actually am in need of some new shirts. I’ll place an order with some Bango blade spinnerbaits included within next couple days probably. Id wear that for sure!
  22. HA! ? I just saw this. Think you added it? I thought the same thing when I posted it. @TnRiver46 loves zoom worms and I am a fan of them too. Zorro spinnerbait has my biggest bass this year @6.21, NY
  23. Thanks man. That smallie has typical coloring of the smallies I’ve caught around here. So I guess in my neck of the woods, this is what they look like. I agree, it’s fascinating how much the coloration can differ and seeing photos of smallies that people catch around the country on here makes it easy to see the differences. I am still a newbie to both smallmouth and river fishing, but definitely seems like the fight of these fish is incredible compared to a lake/pond largie.
