  1. By softer you mean a more moderate taper? Instead of fast? I agree based on my experience with spinnerbaits.
  2. I have to admit I’ve never held a Lowrider but heard great things about them on here; that’s why I threw in that recommendation. But okay, your question on whether Falcons fish light. Originally I thought no but now I am going to say yes. The Heavy Head Turner I have balances very well with a 1/2oz spinner. 3/8oz is great too. It’s still got a lotta power though. As far as iRods go, I own four. Killer rods. The Stone Cold rod is great with swim jigs, chatterbaits, buzzbaits, etc and I do love it with spinnerbaits also but I wanted less length for spinnerbaits and that’s why I landed on the Head Turner. As far as I can see, it is everything I want a spinnerbait rod to be. Also fun fact skips jigs like crazy.
  3. Hey I think I’ve seen that fish before. r/bassfishing? She’s a beaut football
  4. I recommend very highly either the iRod Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig Rod or a Falcon Lowrider Head Turner. I own the iRod, and the expert version of the Head Turner. The Head Turner is now my spinnerbait rod. The Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig rod is excellent for an all-around moving bait rod in a little longer length. The Head Turner has been nothing but extremely impressive to me and I imagine it works quite well with other moving baits as well. I want to emphasize one thing. The Swim and Vibrating Jig rod is LIGHTS OUT with a buzzbait.
  5. You'll have to let me know how you like that BB1 pro. Sweet.
  6. Couldn’t imagine not having a spinnerbait
  7. I made a rod and reel purchase and didn’t immediately tell you guys… hope you can forgive me. A St Croix Triumph 6’6” medium spinning with a Shimano Sedona. Really like it. Never actually owned a nice spinning combo before.
  8. I don’t think I’ve ever done a photo with all of my rods + I made a rod and reel purchase without first posting to the Tackle Purchase thread so I’ve got some updating to do. From left to right: iRod Genesis III Harold‘s Lone Star Special with Shimano MGL 150 rigged with a Texas rig iRod Genesis III 704C with Daiwa Tatula 100 rigged with a jig iRod Genesis III Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig with REVO Winch rigged with a lipless crank iRod Genesis III Stone Cold Spook and Trap with Lew’s LFS rigged with a Carolina rig Falcon Expert Head Turner with REVO Winch rigged with a spinnerbait Lew’s Carbon Fire 7’3” Heavy with Kast King Royale Legend Elite rigged with a frog *NEW* St Croix Triumph 6’6” Medium with Shimano Sedona rigged with a neko rig
  9. I like green also. Ginseng as well. There’s some you can buy in stores but it does not compare to what you can get in a good authentic Korean restaurant. If it is Korean made, it typically knocks my socks off. Food included I’ll give that a try. Not opposed to dark roasts
  10. Folgers is great stuff for the price. Pretty sure it’s been compared to Trilene Big Game on here in the past ?
  11. Ruining the taste of perfectly good tea…
  12. That’s weird man. I’ll add sugar sure, but juice?
  13. Yeah that’s good stuff. My favorite of all time as far as really sweet goes though that I can’t find in NC is Joe Sweet Tea. That stuff is seriously sweet but irresistible. Now I like the subtly sweet though.
  14. Had Milo’s?
  15. I would get Standard Lew’s LFS 6:8:1, bring it into a store near you that carries good quantity and quality of baitcasting rods, and have him feel the reel on with different rods that you can find in the store that people have recommended here.
  16. Found it at my local Walmart. Just had never been looking for it. Has a light blue label
  17. Hey ya’ll, Im a fan of sweet tea. Love that stuff. Used to drink a lot of it, but quickly cut down on it cuz that’s a lotta sugar. Now I have one once in a while. I do have a couple gripes with most sweet tea’s. I don’t like them to saturate out the tea flavor, and it’s just too much sugar. But little did I know… my life was about to change. One day I get done fishing at Badin and stop in at the Eldorado Outpost. There, staring back at me through one of the many drink refrigerators is a beverage labeled “Subtly Sweet” tea by Pure Leaf. It is looking at me almost coyly. Man, I gotta try this. So I do. I start the drive and take a sip… perfection. Just a little hint of sugar, otherwise great tea flavor. Not hardly enough sugar to worry about consuming… it’s just perfect. No additives, just tea and sugar. Okay thank you for listening to my love story.
  18. Texas rig Jig Spinnerbait Everything else is optional
  19. Haven’t sat down to really play a video game in ages. And I grew up with that stuff. Fishing has got a pretty firm hold on me
  20. I’ve had days when the ticket to getting bites in clear water was a high speed retrieve, as you mentioned. Not really my “style” but it ain’t hard for me to start reeling faster.
  21. Gas has decreased slightly in price over the past few weeks here. I’ll take the small victories
  22. That’s one sexy dawg
  23. I’m confused… what’s that supposed to mean? ?
  24. I took a close look. @throttleplate our palomar’s look different. In your top magnification photo, look right at the bottom of your knot. It is right there that I have two strands of line running parallel and snugged up against one another. From what I can spy, you have one line there and then an underhanging loop. I don’t know whose knot is correct, to be honest Edit: added photo. The two red arrows are pointing to the two strands of line I have running. Imagine this flipped upside down and turned around. Then it is oriented the same way as your knot. I would have two strands of line running parallel underneath your knot
