Sounds good to me. I thought @WRB's post on this thread was really good. Don't often fish in a boat but I can do it with someone bank fishing at a reservoir that is nearly always tough. I like it. I want it in particular for jigs though. Don't know if a spray bottle was the best thing for that but I figured it was pretty versatile.

Well I fell into the trap. I got some Bang Anise and Crawfish recently. I know what's going to happen. I'll use it, catch a bass, and convince myself that the bass bit because of the scent. Then I'll never want to fish without scent again, and it's just one more thing that I have to worry about and that the bait monkey has to get excited about. He lurks at every corner. But hey maybe it'll turn out to be a good deal.

If you want, I can talk with you about them. But I don't want to disrespect a couple things. I don't want to disrespect effort you've already put forth and I don't mean to cast myself out as a expert in spinnerbaits since I know there are many on this site more accomplished with them than I am. And you are a far better angler than I am. Just because I've caught a lot of fish on spinnerbaits don't mean jack.

As Jimmy Houston said, "There's a lot of lures out there, but a spinnerbait is special." They bite the heck out of them where I am in NY. Not necessarily so in other places I fish. Still, if I'm fishing a spinnerbait, no matter where I am, I expect to get bit all the time. I should have fished them more over Spring break in NC.

Fun day on the water this morning! Stayed cloudy throughout the day and fairly moderate winds. There was a bite window from around 8:30-10:30. Caught 10 with 70% of them coming from one relatively small location. All of them were pretty small but a couple decent ones. Couldn't really find the big girls today. Slow rolled spinnerbaits around rock and wood in close proximity to deep water in some areas that looked promising to me. This was my first time fishing on this lake by myself. Also, I'm smiling for you @TnRiver46 ?. I really need to work on my camera work because it looks like I'm trying to smother the lens with the fish in every photo I take in the kayak ??.

No strategy, just a fish a lot and learn a lot

Short arm single colorado now accounts for both my NC and NY PB. I haven't fished those zorros a whole lot, but I'll fish em more now! Lol.

I got my first NY bass of 2022 tonight and it also happens to be my NY PB. Funny how that works. I tossed around a jig a bunch for a couple hours, no dice. As it started to get a little darker towards sunset, switched to a spinnerbait and fished it ultra slow around some steep banks. Got her! 6.21lbs. I was awfully excited ?.

Strong pair of kitchen scissors is the best thing I’ve found for braid. I also use wire cutters which are extremely useful in other ways too

Water, hook sharpener, sunglasses, hat, pliers, scale, extra line. All are kind of essential for me. There’s a lot of pre-checks before a fishing trip. Nowdays when I go I’ve usually got everything, no problems.

Pantera... loud and heavy ?

Lipless mimic baitfish so well that they seem to fool many predators. They fool some giant bass too. wish I could have more consistent luck using them.

Spinnerbait… but I always reach for a spinnerbait. Does this surprise anyone?

Crash, I understand the gist of your post and you honestly trying tatsu out to see if you like it. Perhaps it was just poor choice of words, but these couple of sentences is where you made it difficult for people who want to give their point of view, too, since you are saying here that they are lying. Just relax man. OP may want to report back on how he likes Tatsu too if he tries it.

When you go talkin about mustad hooks or stanley spinnerbaits, it's like you go starry eyed. ? I do like the grip-pin hooks a lot.

I've used the mgl 150 for around that span of time this year so far after purchasing mine sometime in Feb. I love mine. One of my favorite reels at the moment, and really excels with light lures. Cast it! Let us know what you think after!

Cool stories man, thanks for sharing. I don't particularly have any brand loyalty/favorites, much less tied to anything sentimental. 3/4 of the casting rods I use most often are iRod. I bought my first one because @WRB put in a good word for them on multiple occasions, I think in particular for Fred's Frog/Magic Stick. Of course I did some more research before getting em, but I love em. They are wonderfully balanced, durable, and load nicely. But... it's not like I'm only going to buy iRods. Other brands make rods with different specifications than iRod offers. And eventually I'll probably go the custom route. Edit: Hopefully no one reads my responses on the frog fishing thread otherwise they'll bust me saying that I do in fact have one brand favorite. ?
