  1. Wait we can say 13 fishing now?????
  2. I'm addicted to the thoomp thoomp. I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more thoomp. It's like therapy. I feel it thoomp thoomp thoompin along... it stops.... I got her! ? Seriously, good tips though, thank you man.
  3. I was hoping you'd have a scenario where I'm proven wrong. Thanks for sharing!
  4. When the water is that cold, it seems like a single colorado is the only spinnerbait they will take. There's really something about it in the cold water. Many people associate a single colorado with prespawn. I think prespawn plays a role in the single colorado's effectiveness during this time, but I also think the cold water has a lot to do with it too. Historically, summer is my worst time for fishing spinnerbaits, and I don't throw willow leafs hardly any. Correlation? I plan to find out this season. Coldest water I've caught em on a spinnerbait is low 40s. I have no doubt it will work even colder. PB caught in 49 degrees. I've thrown this thing a lot!
  5. Thanks for the update and nice catch! Checked water temperature of Jordan Lake online, it is at 56 degrees today. On smaller bodies of water, makes sense first wave of spawners are getting ready. I'll be in the middle of it when I'm back in NC in several days. But, like @Bluebasser86 said, I would rather fish for prespawners right now.
  6. Lunker Lure Triple Rattleback Rick Clunn Trickster War Eagle finesse Picasso invizr wire willow indiana Strike King Lil Mr Money Ive thrown three of these and had luck on them
  7. Thanks for the responses ya'll. Some potential problems I can see with using a chunk style trailer on buzzbait is it might encourage short strikes or make it more difficult to get a solid hook set. On the flip side, it would add a lot of bulk to the buzzbait. I really haven't decided what I like on a buzzbait still. Last season I ended up using the rage menace as a trailer without a skirt a lot, and it's killer, but it's also a pretty small profile and been looking for a bigger option that won't roll over the buzzbait.
  8. Anyone use a chunk trailer on a buzzbait like a zoom big salty hung off the back? Just a bored question while I wait for spring break. Look forward to reading your responses!
  9. That's... uh, um, yeah, one way of putting it Sir, this is a Wendy's
  10. Hey ya'll, While I'm pretty well certain there are few, if any, people on here who have a dedicated devils horse setup, I'm wondering what ya'll throw them on. Rod, line, what hooks on the devils horse since I know many people change them on this lure, and approximate drag setting. I don't throw treble hooked lures often. I think I can throw the devils horse pretty well on a 7' medium spinning rod with a braid to leader. I'm particularly wondering if ya'll would think I'd be at risk of hooks bending out with a MH 6'9" MH,F baitcaster with about #6 and #4 trebles. I can try to compensate with a lower drag setting. I'd prefer a baitcaster for this application because I can cast more accurately with it, but will use the spinning rod if it is the better option. I lack a medium power baitcaster. I do not want trebles bending on me with a prespawn momma. That would break my heart. Look forward to reading your responses :).
  11. I feel like every time I post about spinnerbaits, I need to clarify that I'm talking about largemouth. Because if you put me on a gold mine of 100 nice smallmouth actively feeding and gave me a spinnerbait, I might catch 2... sunburns. Bronzeback devils.
  12. A good spinnerbait scenario is anytime visibility is compromised. But that doesn't mean bluebird sky days with clear water are unproductive with a spinnerbait. Cover can still be concealment for a spinnerbait. And to a degree, so can deeper, darker water. If you throw a spinnerbait deep into lily pads, for example, you have shade from the pads and the stalks of the pads helping to block the fish's vision of the spinnerbait. If you are fishing thick laydowns, the branches and stems can help obstruct the fishes' view of the lure. Depending on angles, this can be a big deal. So you "create" a scenario where visibility isn't high anymore. This fact combined with the ability of spinnerbait to target a lot of different depths means that a spinnerbait can always be productive.
  13. Well hell yeah! Hey whatever you're doing, keep doing it! ? Congrats man ?. Awesome!
  14. 2:26 "I make this face" ? I thought the saying goes "When the wind blows from the west, the fish bite the best." Apparently the fish did not care about that on that day. Those fish should know better! When A-Jay's fishing it's time to bite!
  15. Listened to that one. Like that one too! 9. Very "epic" sounding. ?
  16. Never heard that one before ^. Me likey! 9 I read back a while on this thread that there are some here who like German Heavy Metal. Well today I stumbled on Rammstein and so far I like em.
  17. Very nice! enjoy that curado mgl. I got some use out of mine fishing holes in the ice and like it very much. Another is on my wishlist.
  18. Oh shucks. Thanks for the heads up Edit: actually, I don’t think that is their website. They give off the impression that they only make a tail spinner on that website. I’m talking about the humdinger safety pin style spinnerbaits
  19. Get out of my head you furry devil
  20. Heck even I've thought about throwing the chatter again. I know it's just bait monkey talk. I know he's gonna make me throw it around wood. I know it's gonna get caught. And I know I'll buy more just because I caught one nice one before snagging it.
  21. Spinnerbait! Oh sorry, you were wondering about a chartreuse and white swim jig. Yeah that's cool I guess.
  22. Five of each! If I was so lucky! @Catt @Bluebasser86 @A-Jay @Dwight Hottle @Glenn Greg Hackney Jason Christie Seth Feider Rick Clunn And if only this was possible... Aaron Martens... RIP
