  1. I hadn’t seen a 10XD in person until I walked into an academy about 2 weeks ago. Those things are HUGE
  2. I like split cork but it’s not that big an issue. I have 4 iRods and they are EVA grips. I appreciate the rods themselves enough that grip doesn’t matter
  3. Just for baits? That is okay. The dude just got me for a rod that I already own one of. Im sitting here waiting on somebody to tell me what we’re doing for dinner if anybody’s wondering why the weird photo
  4. Oh by the way, they had a Falcon Expert Head Turner too so of course I had to get one. That’s my second one. I got to inspect the rod before purchasing. Can’t say no to that.
  5. Hey y’all, Just walked into a tackle store and saw they had some Havoc baits. I know they are discontinued, so of course I had to get something. They have a bait called the devil’s spear. I picked up two packs. Can anyone tell me about this bait and how they’ve had luck with it? The design looked really cool.
  6. Nah I’m calling bull on that. If the fish have been moving shallow or you haven’t been having luck deep, you’re gonna follow em. Now, if you said you never throw at the bank, I’d believe that, maybe. But never shallow? Nah, no way
  7. If I was smarter I woulda stuck with the Start Early Start Deep Start with Something on the Bottom mentality this season. I do think it is a waste though to wake up super early for this bite, but not stay for the 10-2 midday window. Gotta stay out there for that.
  8. Okay haven’t seen the comment I was looking for. Tip: add a swivel ahead of the bait. Adds a little weight but still preserves a nice natural horizontal fall. And yes, I agree with those saying use a spinning rod
  9. I decided a couple years ago that I wouldn’t bring alcohol while fishing. I tried it twice and didn’t like it. I just am not as sharp.
  10. @Dwight Hottle I agree. Thought it is absurd but interesting nonetheless
  11. Steve Kennedy made a statement on Mercer that he and his Dad used to buy a certain crankbait 144 at a time and of those, 2-3 would be magic baits. He also said the same thing can occur with plastic baits. - The Bait Monkey
  12. I’ve also seen it where if I’m sitting on a spot and not getting bites, I can set the rod down and just eat for 15 minutes and then all of sudden there is activity. I think it just lets the spot kinda quiet down. We roll in on a spot, our transducer and motor or pedals or paddle is making all sorts of noise and then we drop a lure in and a lot of fish I think are disturbed. Let the water rest 15min and the fish will sometimes quiet down. I do have a tendency to run and gun but there are also times I will fish more deliberately and this is often something I will employ
  13. This rig is kinda interesting It and the neko beg me all the time to take a closer look
  14. I will often do the same in the pedal kayak. Or I will eat while waiting for people to go away so I can slither in all quiet Greg Hackney style to my fishing spot ??
  15. I’m all over the place with what I bring. The fanciest I’ve packed is Korean kimbap that I made the day prior. Brought that and a soda. Absolutely stellar
  16. Have to pick one???? Jeez dude. That's rough. I have to say strike king then, for the wide selection of lures
  17. Anybody try it? I dunno, looks weird to me but maybe fish would like it
  18. Nah people still use the heck out of senkos
  19. You mean like this?
  20. If I fished a spinnerbait for an entire year, and only a spinnerbait, then fished a senko for an entire year and only a senko, I would catch more fish on the spinnerbait. Promise you. Large bodies of water and windy climate has a lot to do with that
  21. A positive comment I have about senkos is that they seem to be one of those plastics that still works well in frigid water
  22. I have not used a senko in probably 6-7 months. But they do work
  23. Alright alright hit me with em. I know, I asked for it
  24. ?. Not very serious about that
