  1. I oughta try the SLX MGL. I want another Curado MGL at some point and already have 3 Lew’s LFS’s. They are easy picks. Just like a “I dunno what reel to put on this rod…. Well an LFS will work”
  2. Lews LFS and Curado MGL 150, depending on the rod they are on, are my most comfortable
  3. Yo what. I’m actually shocked
  4. Finding good structure fishing spots is hard. I would say I’ve explored somewhere around 50 or more structural elements on Stillhouse, and of those, I’m semi-confident in some form of long-term success on 1-2 of them. Doesn’t mean I won’t catch them on other spots. I just kinda don’t consider them honey holes
  5. I won’t share spots but I certainly will tell someone information that will help them find their own spots. I’ll share lures, techniques, what I’ve been seeing on the water, lake information, etc. Edit: Only exception is if someone is fishing with me. I might reserve a couple spots for myself but otherwise they are free to fish my stuff
  6. Well today was a wash because my phone hanging slightly out of my pocket caught on something in the kayak as I was moving and plummeted into the depths. I did catch one at the new lake prior to this happening, but no pic of course Some days are like this, nothing I can do. I got the phone replaced already
  7. Jig and spinnerbait is a good bank combo. You can skip the chatterbait ?. (I just don’t like em) I would fish both at everything that I think might hold fish. I would combine pitching and casting with the jig, and I would fish the spinnerbait at all depths. Pretty much that simple. One of the biggest bass I hooked this year, I lost in Missouri during the super early prespawn, bank fishing with a jig. I pitched a large rubber jig to a stickup, felt the bite, wrestled her out of there, somehow lifted her over another branch, and then she tangled herself in a third piece of timber and I lost her.
  8. One time I went out, it was 15mph winds at night. That was a little freaky
  9. Good catching y’all! Who’s headed out tomorrow or Monday? I’m thinking of trying a new lake tomorrow and then Stillhouse Monday
  10. Catt asking the right questions Also been a while since I’ve fished docks but I wouldn’t mind if docks were the only cover I had. I love em
  11. Are you serious? Can you send it my way please? Like ASAP? You can leave it here for several days too; that’s fine
  12. I’m going to guess somewhere in the range 4.5-5.75. Really hard to guess off of a photo
  13. It’s September. Did anybody actually think that fall was coming yet?
  14. I enjoyed going out July 4th weekend this year to night fish 8pm-4am. I feel that was a good window of time to be fishing. Most catches were 8-9pm, and then 1-3am. Biggest fish at 12:15AM. I still don’t think catch rates or fish quality varies, for me, between day or nighttime
  15. That’s absurd
  16. Dude I really don’t like to night fish because it messes with my sleep schedule so much and I am dead the next day. Super hard to make a habit of it, and a little unhealthy if we are working daytime hours during the week. I really only like to do it when I get a long weekend. Many anglers don’t do it because it is hard, in more ways than one
  17. I got one of those and Perch and GG Bass. Seemed to make sense to me I just got three and I hope they are awesome so I can send the bait monkey back over to your house
  18. Ordered Oldham jigs in the following colors (not on sale) 5/8oz, 3/4oz, and 1oz. Ordered 3 Megabass PopMax’s in GG Wild Gill, GG Bass, and Perch 15% off on a site I’m not allowed to mention Ordered Zoom Z hog’s and Z Craw’s on the same site Update: Maybe there wasn’t a 15% off after all ?
  19. Okay four in a row for the popmax…. What colors would y’all recommend in very clear water 10ft+ visibility. @J Francho @A-Jay @roadwarrior @NJBasstard Forage is small perch and sunfish, 3-4in minnows, but some larger bait too. I just think I would be replicating the small gills and perch and minnows best with the popmax

    What popper should I get
  21. That’s a good point for his scenario. Us, on the other hand, our low temperatures have fallen by 10 degrees and high temperatures by a few or several for some time. The fish are going to notice
  22. Night fishing is not magic but you can fish at night successfully everywhere. I did it in NY for a time too, so it certainly works up North.
