Hey y'all, I don't consider myself to be a very simple person, and I haven't met many people that share some of the same personality characteristics as me. I get along with lots of folks and have a few friends but no one is kinda like me. A dude just showed up to work. This dude, is. He does not fish, but we do have a fair bit in common. He is also an engineering major, also loves metal music and shares my passion for the band TOOL, he's a little quirky same as me but still a pretty confident guy. I don't know how to explain it, but this guy shares about 50% of my personality. We're gonna go out to Austin this weekend with some folks for a concert/night life sorta deal and I have a feeling it will be a good time. Have you ever met someone that is a lot like you? Is it easier for you than it is me? Lol. This guy's awesome. If he was a girl and pretty, I'd date him, lmao

Absolutely. Love the encouragement for people to start modifying spinnerbaits and make their own short arms, especially short arm single Colorado’s. I’ve been cutting short spinnerbaits like this and otherwise modifying them for a good while now. I don’t get many bites helicoptering a spinnerbait. For me, the modification to short arm is mainly about changing the pitch of the blade turning to be more subtle and present a more compact spinnerbait. Often, this is what I like. But, I have a theory that boisterous single Colorado’s can be better in the prespawn sometimes. This can be achieved via a long arm, or by utilizing a spinnerbait with a wide head, as two examples. The wider head will cause the spinnerbait to run less stable, and sort of jitter back and forth. If you’ve thrown a Zorro short arm aggravator, you may know what I’m talking about

Fishing is kind of a hard sport to get into. You deal with more frustrations than most other hobbies. At a young age, kids are just less emotionally inclined to want to deal with frustration in pursuit of something. Makes it harder, too, when they just can’t quite appreciate the end goal. I was fortunate in that when I tried fishing on my own, I was at the age where I was mature enough to deal with frustrations, I grew up hunting and with a profound appreciation for the outdoors (can’t stress that enough), I love a challenge, and I also was a big video gamer prior to fishing. Fishing is a game, too. Everything lined up for me. It doesn’t for everyone. Some people want more relaxing and less frustrations when they are partaking in some recreation away from work and there is nothing wrong with that. Let me wrap up by saying that I think that any exposure people get to the outdoors at a young age is invaluable. Invaluable!

I really don’t like crocs but they are indisputably the best footwear to wear in a pedal kayak. There is seriously just no contest. I tried to find a way that they aren’t appropriate but can’t.

I know what you're talking about. The problem I encountered with Somerville when I fished there was everybody and their mama knows about the places that seemed to have good structure or good cover. I went out one day and had like 8 spots I wanted to check based on stuff I had marked and there was a boat sitting on every single one. Seriously. I graphed most of that lake too. Eventually gave up on it because the fishing was bad too. I'm not gonna act like I know some super secret sauce on Stillhouse. People catch bigger stringers than me. Seriously, pay attention to other people. But I don't enjoy people fishing my stuff if I can avoid it. Everybody that structure fishes, finds their own fish, and their own spots - knows what I'm talking about. smallmouth. Stillhouse has them too

Never actually bass fished on this lake. Just catfished. And I started looking around at this location for catfish, not bass. I hid the name of the creek because I just don't see many people fishing around here and want it to stay that way but I publicly say everywhere here that my favorite lake around here is Stillhouse. Only @Catt knows some of the spots I fish on Stillhouse though, and I usually don't encounter too many boats fishing my stuff on Stillhouse

I haven't checked out the culvert over there yet. It doesn't show up on my fish finder mapping, mild inconvenience. I have to go find it. All this structure talk is making me wanna go bass fish! I'm sticking to my break, but will probably drop a line for catfish here soon. Still gives my body a break
