  1. Only on weekends nowadays and sometimes only one of those days
  2. Wish I could say the same. It led Jan and Feb in MO, but I haven’t got much action on one since. Since I’m changing bass lakes, maybe luck will change
  3. Couple dinks on a new lake my first time fishing it. Think I figured out something. We’ll see what happens tomorrow
  4. This is a good answer. Lot of us in the comments saying we’ve seen bass hanging out real shallow when it’s hot, but those bass aren’t sitting there just because they feel like fasting for a few days. They are there to eat I think it’s worth considering though that on shad lakes, every morning and every evening, you’re going to have bait in the shallows during those darker periods. And critters and bluegill can be found shallow(er)
  5. Seen large bass in triple digit heat with water temperatures pushing 90 hanging out seemingly randomly along seawalls with no shade in about a foot of water This whole idea surrounding summertime that “Yeah, you gotta go out to the main lake and fish deep on points with a c-rig and deep diving crankbaits” as if it’s the only way to catch em is hurting people im not saying “shallow” is just throwing at the bank. Paralleling in that mid depth zone of like 6-10ft can be mighty effective depending on cover, structure, and where the baitfish are at
  6. If bass stop hitting spinnerbaits and start only hitting lures that look like poo, I’ll probably quit bass fishing
  7. Hey y’all, Whats new with spinnerbaits? Try any recently that you wound up liking? Are those green fish liking different ones than your usual producers? I was tinkering with spinnerbaits for about an hour before work this morning so they’ve been on my mind
  8. For those of you that aren’t willing to pour this bait, zoom’s z hog is very close to this bait
  9. Bro I need to get off this thread. I’m just chilling in bed ready to go to sleep soon and now I see 25% off jigs - today only. If somebody posts up 25% off spinnerbaits, I might get breeded by a monkey. Have mercy
  10. I really like me a jig too
  11. Rage menace standard and magnum and rage bug same sizes
  12. Da way dey wiggle
  13. My Mom FaceTimed me with a few fish this morning. She said she caught five today out of Ol Muddy pond. As always, on her favorite lure and the pond special, a 5” solid black senko. Ol Muddy lives on despite me being far away.
  14. I spoke too soon. I saw the equipment in your link. Thank you though!
  15. What rod are you throwing them on? I’m considering switching mine based on last season’s experience. There is one of those 7’4” Heavy KVD Cranking rods on sale. Thinking of switching to something more parabolic that might handle fish that are barely hooked a little better
  16. Summertime is upon us. About time to break out the wobble heads. I played around with wobble heads - otherwise known as swing head jigs - last summer and they became as good an offshore bait as any last season. Fishing them like a crankbait, you can cover a lot of water. Dragging them is good too. I think @Choporoz landed an absolute hoss on a wobble last summer. Try em!
  17. If solid black was included in that bulk pack, I would have had no choice. Bait monkey would have immediately arm barred me on the ground until I purchased some thank god
  18. Anyone have a gauge for how quick a 675 CFS dam discharge is? Lake is getting pretty overfilled and believe Corps of Engineers is letting out water very quickly - if in fact 675 CFS is fast. Sure sounds fast. [Edit] Correction: I found a report. Over 1000 CFS
  19. Favorite is spinnerbait and it probably always will be. It is associated with what I would consider my best rod and reel combo. Falcon Expert Head Turner with a REVO Winch Gen 4.
  20. So I want to ask a question to those of you who are critical thinkers. What do you think justifies using a graphite, fast action rod for a technique? Are there techniques where most people seem to recommend using a fast action rod for where you instead utilize a rod with a more parabolic taper instead?
  21. Between 1. The actual water level 2. the change that is occurring in the water level (falling/rising) Which do you think affects fish and their positioning more?
  22. I can get really caught up in bass fishing. Can wind up occupying a lot of my mental energy really fast. That’s fine when I have the time to put forth, but not good when I have things to take care of. I want to own my hobby, not the other way around
  23. Cool, thanks for reviewing a Lew’s product. I’ve been more interested in the Lew‘s line since I have a 7’3” Heavy Carbon Fire and a 7’4” KVD Crankbait rod from them that are both really great for the price in my opinion. I have the same thoughts about their standard Lew‘s LFS baitcaster too. It’s all great equipment
  24. Holy moly that's awesome. One heck of a bag. Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna try to put together a stringer of white bass on Somerville tomorrow for some food. I may mix in some largemouth fishing but won't bring a lot of gear. Sure hope the weather holds up
  25. Midway USA is good for decently fast shipping as well. When you checkout, they will tell you that the order is supposed to arrive pretty late, but they always get it to you much faster than that date, IME. They are centrally located in MO and are a great business. I have some Rapala DT crankbaits on backorder from them and I got notified that they already have a couple they are holding for me. I have no doubt that I'll get them and the rest of my backorders in a timely manner.
