  1. Beautiful bass! Congrats.
  2. I'll try to make a long story short-ish. I took the day off of work to go up to Tennessee to fish with a friend, but when we got to the ramp his boat wouldn't start. We tinkered with it for a long time trying to get it going, but no luck. Since it was after 2:00 by the time I got home, and I had burned a day off of work I went to a friend's pond just so I could catch something. It was a disappointing morning, but the evening turned out alright. This pond had no bass in it when he bought the property. We caught bass from the river to put in his pond, so it's possible that I have caught that fish before. We need to find a time to fish together. I'll send you a PM.
  3. It makes me happy to see everyone catching fish, and making this thread active again. I got to fish for the first time in a while. I fished for two hours before I caught anything. Rotated through a number of lures, and colors with no bites. I tried a red, nose hooked yum dinger, and caught 8 in the next two hours. All on the red dinger, but only if it was nose hooked. I tried TX rigging the same worm...no bites. I tried different color worms...no bites. So I quit fighting it, and stuck with the red, nose hooked dinger. The best being this 4 lb 8 oz LM.
  4. Sounds about right. Maybe that was the part of the "documentation" process that stopped me last time I thought about doing it. I looked it up. It's just a $5 processing fee. I might still do it. I'm pretty sure I can qualify as a master drum angler. 🤣
  5. That's gorgeous @Siebert Outdoors. I would have a hard time not biting that. 🤣 I like yours too @FishTank.
  6. Tennessee has a similar program. I fish there fairly often, but I've never applied because I just didn't want to deal with the documentation process. Based on how cool I think your certificate is I might just do it next time I catch a fish that qualifies. Congrats on the accomplishment, and thanks for the motivation.
  7. Sorry you're having such a tough time. I hope things get better for you @BluegillsTightlines.
  8. "It it is illegal to intentionally run over or otherwise kill an alligator in Georgia except under very specific legal conditions. Alligators are protected by both state and federal law, and unauthorized killing is prosecuted under wildlife and animal cruelty statutes." If there's a next time, get their boat numbers and call the cops on those criminals. @Swamp Girl He did say, "Bubbas". I don't know about Maine, but down here in the south that explains everything we need to know. 🤣 Awesome write up Koz. Sorry about the big one that got away, but to hook two giants on consecutive trips means you're doing something right, my friend.
  9. Does it come in a fudge round, or a nutty buddy pattern? If so, I'm in. 🤣
  10. Great fish, and well told story. Congrats on the new PB, Koz!
  11. I would love to hear more about those things, and I doubt that I'm alone.
  12. I send them directly to family, a few close friends that I fish with, and BR. Nothing else for me.
  13. I’m on the way. Just need you to post detailed directions to menderchuck before I get there. 😂

If it wasn’t April fools day we’d all be saying…
  15. Happy birthday! That's a very nice looking gift you're holding @Dwight Hottle.
  16. It’s pretty telling that most people seem to be happy where they are. I like that. There really is no place like home. I’m in that boat too. I’ve lived almost all of my life somewhere along the Tennessee River. In east TN, west TN, and north AL. It’s one of the most diverse fisheries anywhere. It has big smallmouth, largemouth, spots, crappie, catfish, white bass, stripers, and many other species. I hope to live 100% of the rest of my life on this river.
  17. The weather has certainly been crazy this year. Where I am we recently had tornado warnings one night followed by snow the next morning. Nice job sticking with it, and putting fish in the boat in tough conditions.
  18. Congrats, man! What an amazing day!
  19. You are correct that you don’t owe us anything, but you’re not correct if you wonder if we care. We do. We’re all pulling for you, and wishing you well. Thanks for the update, and please post any fish you catch whether they’re giants, or dinks. We’ll be there to celebrate with you.
  20. Looks perfect. I am sure you’ll love it.
  21. As @BassinCNY said, it feels weird to admit it, but I liked them. Five Fish Dream sounds like it could be a real Jason Aldean song to me.
  22. I'm blessed to live close to the river where I fish. It's usually a 15 minute drive whether it's to fish on the bank, or to the ramp for a boat trip. About once a month I drive an hour to meet a friend who drives two hours to fish a different stretch of the river. It's not difficult for me to get to the water.
  23. Nice fish, @Brycecover. Congrats!
