  1. I'll wait until I see the reviews of the new stuff before I don't buy any. I just don't have any luck with Rage Tails.
  2. Absolutely! That's why I don't go.
  3. Sorry, no more Rage Tail anythings for me. Can't catch a cold with those things. Just spent an hour throwing nothing else but a shad, to give it another chance. Not even a strike! If I retrieve it slow it sinks. Retrieve it fast enough to keep it on top, it rolls and twists my line horribly. I've rigged it on a 4/0, 5/0 weightless, and with a swimbait hook, Nothing makes it run right. Yes, I detached the tail, yes, I have the tail up. I watched the video, read the instructions. It just doesn't work more me. Too many other things out there that work better than to waste my time with these. If they work for you guys, I'm glad.
  4. I caught a small cat last week on an Erie Dearie with a leech trailer.
  5. I've said it before (not here) Better to put 50 people in the theater at $3.00 a head than 10 people at $7.00. Why not sell 100 boxes of popcorn at $2.00 than 20 at $5.00? You do the math. I know I stay away from most movies for exactly those reasons. I have to be darn sure I'm going to like the movie before I go. At a cheaper price, I might be more willing to take a chance. Nothing more infuriating than spending $30 or $40 and then hating the movie. (Felt that way after Indiana Jones IV)
  6. What color jig heads do you guys prefer for the grubs, or does just plain unpainted lead work?
  7. So what, so is the end of the world!
  8. Congrats, very nice fish. I've yet to catch my first Muskie but I'm working on it. I read where a lot of Muskies are caught near the boat which is why it is important to always do the figure eight with the lure at boatside.
  9. Yep, I have 2 of the Plano 9606 boxes.
  10. I'm cutting waaaaay back this year. I have a friend who owns a fireworks business and he did confirm to me last May that prices were up and inventories were down due to that fire at a shipping port in China.
  11. Certain fixed costs must be covered by utilities )and most other companies) It is NOT in the consumer's best interest to conserve. Same thing is going to happen with electricity. When revenue is down you have 2 choices. 1) sell more 2) raise prices. You could cut expenses but you can only cut so far. BOHICA!
  12. No definitely isn't the Echelon because there is no brake adjustment dial on the outside. They do have the Capricorns on sale for the price you mentioned. I initially was considering that when I saw the Pflueger. Do you like the Capricorn and is it baitcast or spinning?
  13. Thanks, since you got me started in the right direction, it probably is the Purist. Finish is different, name is different. It probably is a reel made for Dick's. Not sure if the quality is the same as the Purist but it seemed like a nice reel for the money.
  14. I was just visiting my local Dick's and I saw a Pflueger baitcasting reel there, on clearance and an additional 25% off that. I cannot remember the model, started with an "E" I believe, but the reel was was all chrome, no paint and was a 7 bearing reel. Seemed very smooth, quiet and sturdy, although line capacity wasn't that great. I could always switch a few reels around to match the line and rod so that wasn't an issue. This might have been a Dick's exclusive item or something discontinued. Regular price was listed at 79.99. Final price would have been $41 and change. Didn't buy it but I'm thinking about. Wanted to do some research first. Anybody know anything about this or have one?

  16. We've been getting a lot of afternoon and evening thunderstorms here, almost everyday, and the bite, IMO, has really been off.
  17. Send it in anyway. Did that once with a $50.00 rebate for a cell phone. One day late. They sent the check anyway. All you're out is a stamp.
  18. You can read about this at Snopes. http://www.snopes.com/military/marvin.asp

IMHO, gun bans have little to do with the left's desire to control crime and more to do with their desire to control your life. They want you to rely on the government for everything, including protection. They DO NOT want you to take any responsibility for your own actions, and that includes defending oneself. You are not smart enough to control your life. You must have some higher authority tell you what to do, every step of the way, cradle to grave. Do not smoke, do not drink, wear a seatbelt, kids, wear a bike helmet, do not eat fast food. Do not choose your own medical care, let us do it for you. Do not defend yourself, let us do it for you. Criminals need not take responsibility for their actions either. When someone rapes a child, its not his fault. He was abused as a child and therefore he is not responsible for his conduct. As some one else stated, we are extremely lucky that the high court didn't just obliterate the entire 2nd amendment. We came dangerously close.
  20. I've had a lot of success with the Gulp Alive 3" leech. I hook them on a ball jig head or on an Erie Dearie if I want some flash and thump. They are pricey.
  21. I've seen that reel deal. ;D The bait monkey is yelling in my ear, even as I type this. Congrats on your new outfit.
  22. I like to tip my plastics with the Berkley Crappie Nibbles. I have a bunch of those Creekside panfish and Crappie lures. Most don't seem to work too well. The nibbles help. Little jigs with thumping shads or white and chartreuse grubs work best for me.
  23. Pardon my ignorance here, but doesn't using a leader on braided line sort of defeat the purpose of the braid? The leader has to become the weakest link unless it's real heavy. In clear water, why not just use mono or fluoro?
  24. 10 spinning 6 baitcasting 1 crappie w/ underspin and I have a Zebco 33 also
  25. I still don't get it and I'm not gonna try anymore. Brain just went into overload.
