A first for me
As I said, I am the passenger. My fiance does all the driving. I shared this in another thread awhile ago so I don't really care how crazy it's going to sound, but having Schizophrenia and swerving to avoid hitting something that wasn't really there was it for my driving. I told my therapist a long time ago but she said it will stay between us because she doesn't want me to lose my license. Kind of thought that was both nice of her and probably inappropriate of her. For all I care they can take it. I won't be the reason someone dies.

A first for me
I'm the passenger currently on the way down to ALF to trade some stuff in a get a new rod, and I called the cops on a driver. I have never done that. I've been close, but it's never happened. This person has no license plates and is swerving so bad. They have almost ditched themselves multiple times, which on the interstate would just mean going head on with people on the other side. No idea if they're drunk, drugged, or texting or whatever, but it's insane. They've almost side swiped multiple people. We're hanging way back. Too nervous to pass this idiot. With no plates I can almost guarantee they don't care about the law at all and are messed up on something.

SIBO - you ever heard of this?
I got the Rifaximin antibiotic from the doctor this morning. No formal test (but I see the gastro specialist in October), but he strongly suspects SIBO. It started in May-June with 25lb unintentional weight loss. We were baffled. I can stand to lose it, but it made no sense. Blood work showed severe vitamin B12 deficiency. It was in the 90s. Which again made no sense considering animal based food is a huge part of my daily diet. The doctor asked if I was vegan. Absolutely not. So I started taking 1,000 mcg supplements. Now since the beginning of July I've been unbelievably bloated, gassy, in discomfort and pain, and every time I poop it's pale, oily diarrhea. No doubt it's SIBO. All the hallmarks. Hopefully this antibiotic kicks it in the arse. Definitely gonna eat better too.

Post a photo a day!
So, this went viral. AI recreated what the Mona Lisa would look like had it been painted today. I would ruin my entire life for this Mona Lisa. ?

SIBO - you ever heard of this?
That's insane. I watch "Naked and Afraid" and "Alone" religiously and sometimes they have to get extracted due to giardia. They're seriously ill when leaving, and then good as new on the follow up. I had no idea you could have it for that long. Antibiotics, diet, and finding the source of the problem. From my understanding, SIBO is the end result of something else. IBS can cause SIBO, but I've never had IBS before, and I wasn't having IBS issues when this all started several weeks ago now. How long did it take for you to get relief from your symptoms? Well, gout is the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. My podiatrist said it's comparable to child birth in the level of pain some people experience, which for me is severe. Uric Acid charts range from 0-12. At my worst my Uric Acid was 11.6, the highest my podiatrist had ever seen in her career. Allopurinol set me right though and now I don't really have issues with it. But yes I would rather have gout because while I can't walk for a few weeks during a flare and the pain is awful, I know it will pass and I have a high pain tolerance. It's just a foot. There's something about having all these miserable symptoms in your highly important mid section of your body that's just so much worse.

SIBO - you ever heard of this?
Small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. This causes unbelievable gas, bloating, gut pain, nausea, fatigue, and diarrhea. I currently have this. I've had COVID twice, I've had Swine Flu, I've had MRSA, I've had gout flares that made me unable to walk for 2-3 weeks, and some other wild crap in my life, but this is by far the worst thing ever. I'd take any of those ailments over this. I'm mostly just dealing with the gassiness and bloating and discomfort/pain. Oh my God it's such slow moving gas. I'm not farting my brains out and that's the problem with it. It just builds and builds until I finally let a huge one rip and it's short lived instant relief. I cannot possibly describe how miserable this is. It sounds funny that flatulence is this big of a problem but my God. Oh my God. I'm freaking crippled. Oh thank the Lord I'm a man. The gas women get with pregnancy and periods isn't for me man.

It’s time. New gloves needed. Simms Solarflex Guide gloves.
I don't wash mine because the foul stench freaks my woman out so bad it gives me great pleasure.

Color or Presentation?
The correct presentation at the right time. Color is fine tuning after that.

you working stiffs. do you play hookie to fish?
When I was still working I was a forklift driver at a factory. I was off for a week for vacation and when I came back nobody told me they added a stop sign to this one particular area. It hasn't been there in years. So obviously I blow it. Someone reported me. I get called into my bosses office and I'm like what stop sign? They showed me and it may as well have been a Fisher Price toy stop sign that was nailed to the wall slightly behind a pole. The thing was tiny. Oooookay I thought. Well they had no choice but to suspend me for the rest of the day. So I went fishing. My boss was on my Facebook page and I made sure to post a ton of photos of big river smallies I was catching cranking.

Your Reaction Time
Being big into Call of Duty taught me a lot about reaction time. Those of you who think you haven't noticed any difference, I promise you there is a difference. Even if it's just milliseconds, which isn't enough to really effect your fishing. My reaction time in game isn't the same as it was 15 or even 5 years ago. Most COD pros retire at around 25 because the milliseconds they lose matters when playing the fresh young teens coming on scene. At what point is your slower reaction time as you age having a negative impact on fishing? No idea, haven't gotten there yet. I think decision making, fatigue, and wear and tear on the body is probably most impactful in the sport of bass fishing.

a woman's heart attack is very different from a man's.
I read a story several years ago that has freaked me out ever since. A man in his 30s was on a hiking trip with friends. For a couple days he was experiencing symptoms of indigestion, and naturally thought that's all it was. He eventually dropped dead of a heart attack. Apparently symptoms of indigestion can be something far more serious.

Special or “magic” crankbaits
I completely agree. Matter of fact, I have 2 magical cranks, one 1.5 and one lipless, that have resulted not just in magical days, but top 10 catches of all time for me. They're pretty tore up so before I potentially lost them I took the hooks off and have them on my keychain where they will forever remain at rest.

Did you know...
Unexpectedly being tagged by Glenn is what I imagine hearing your name over the police scanner would feel like.

Umm. What?
I don't see the appeal of video game fishing but to each their own. The struggle and the unknown are part of the fun of it.

Do you still find the whopper plopper to be the most consistently effective topwater bait for river smallmouth or do you consider it a “dead” lure?
Most of the time, it is completely dead for me. I don't even pack them anymore. The one exception is small, untouched streams.

Which jigs are correct for fishing for larger LM's at the bottom of small lakes?
The big bass were hitting the top so you want to jig fish them deep? I'm confused
-
Umm. What?
I mean, who ??
-
Umm. What?
If this is the "future of fishing" then I guess it's more important than ever to buy quality and service it regularly so it lasts decades. There's a lot of things in this world you can't do without a smartphone, fishing better not become one of them.

Post a photo a day!
So I've been bringing this up a lot by my standards of "suffer in silence, man" standards. So forgive me for doing so once more. Last night I was talking to my 14 year old daughter on the phone, and at some point she spoke about Father's Day. The date was 7-12-23. I said, "It's already been Father's Day?." And she replied by explaining what we did and the message she sent me. This happened because of my Schizophrenia. I suffer badly from what they deem as "cognitive impairment" even though the illness doesn't cause retardation and many of us have extremely high IQs. It's a fancy term for something we can't yet explain. I simply say, "it's not retardation and it's not depression; his disease takes something from us that's different altogether that we don't yet have a word and definition for." Sometimes it's almost like dementia. It's very weird. I'm only in my mid 30s. Anyways, that reminded me brain that my daughter sent something sweet to me on Father's Day. ❤️

Best Mono for braid to leader
If you've been using BG for a long time and just now ran into problems, I would logically conclude that you got a bad spool. I never have, but I've heard of it with almost every mainstream line. I'd toss it and buy BG again from elsewhere. Never had a single problem with that line. I've brought up logs with straight 12lb.

The Story of James
Oh for sure you would. He's a freak of nature too. A CKCS is supposed to be 13-18 lbs but he weighs in at 35 lbs and is not obese. Vet says he's a perfect size but a big boy. Did a DNA to prove his breed and he was 100% Cav. He's absolutely elite. Super athletic too. He's almost such a good boy that's it's scary because it makes him oblivious.
