  1. Visualizing in my head my lure in the water and what it's doing and how it's behaving, and the subsurface of the water itself changed everything for me and allows me to "work" and place my lures the best. That's it. That's all I can explain. That's what I do and it works.
  2. There used to be a joke about the NFL prior to a handful of years ago before they started allowing celebrations. They used to fine all celebrations. People called it the "No Fun League." I feel the same about this place. I even reached out with good intentions to say, dude, it was a joke, not a weiner, don't take it too hard. But nah. Now I barely post. I feel you man.
  3. On our pontoon my rule for the kids and guests is a life jacket at all times while the boat is moving and while swimming. While swimming, stay relatively close to the boat. I don't care if you're a grown man, an adult. We will simply not move until you put a lifejacket on, and if you resist you can get the hell off and never come back.
  4. 60* water is cold. You can get hypothermic in water in the 70s.
  5. I'm right handed. I cast, work lures, and fight fish with my strong hand and arm: the right. I reel with my weak hand: the left. Nobody can convince me that it makes any sense that right handers are casting a whole rod and lure, working said lure, and fighting fish with their weak arm just so they can spin a handle with their strong hand. That is mind blowingly illogical.
  6. Definitely the Expride.
  7. My best fishing bud and I are like Gimli and Legolas (he's Gimli though, ugly fool). Counting every catch, the big ones count as two, and the non bass don't count at all. Then it's a restaurant stop afterwards, stinking and all. Get you a friend like that.
  8. The first time, I would have given him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he had a bad day. The second time, I would have deleted him from my life without a word. What a fool.
  9. I have a love/hate relationship with lipless crankbaits. They're one of my favorite and most productive baits, but they can be super annoying by either not running straight right out of the box, fouling because of the littlest piece of grass, or snagging super easily.
  10. Nope. Not for the banks. Less is more. Most of the time I only take a MH/F casting setup and use anything from wacky rigs to jerkbaits to squarebills to spinnerbaits to jigs. Works perfectly fine. My bank fishing was always way less productive when I carried more than one rod with me. I'd only add a M spinning setup if anything, but you've already got that too. Unless you get a kayak or a boat you're going to find yourself with a lot of gear you don't use or over encumbered on the banks just so you can say you use it.
  11. Today's $100-$150 rods that get knocked for "not being sensitive" cracks me up because they're on par with high end rods from 10-20 years ago. Makes me wonder how anyone ever caught fish.
  12. 2-4 minutes will kill fish, and your friend learned that lesson. If that's "fast," I'd hate to see what slow means.
  13. If you have an assorted literal box full and you can't find what you like, it's more about you than it is the fish. A bass isn't that finicky.
  14. *goes to Oregon to get rich fishing* *finds out I suck in every state* At least I'm now in a great place to be homeless.
  15. Swim hop retrieve with Neds at all times.
  16. I have. It works better for me on a ShroomZ than a drop shot. However, it doesn't stay on a ShroomZ head for very well (they're the only Ned heads I use) and they tear up much easier. They catch a lot though.
  17. A world without technology, the walleye are not fished for sport and the deer are hunted without regulation for food.
  18. It was still slow until today. Seems fine today. The issues I was having up until now was the text box and images wouldn't load. Threads were slow to open. Sometimes the whole site would take half a minute to slowly open. But the weird thing is that this has been a patchy issues. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's not. I exclusively use an Android phone. I've cleared cache and restarted my phone once at the suggestion. Didn't change anything, so I haven't done it again. Since no other site requires hard resetting the whole phone to make it work, I just waited out whatever the problem was. Seems resolved now.
  19. Wow that sounds even worse than I remember. I haven't fished it in 5 years. Last time I was backseating in a tournament. I didn't do worth a crap and neither did anyone else except for my boater who managed 2 over 3 lbs and 2 over 4 lbs on some Yamamoto bait that was discontinued at the time (and probably still is). Can't remember what it was.
  20. That lake can eat a bag of sticks lol
  21. I don't care at all if people use it outside of tournaments. Being able to use it in tournaments seems very stupid to me though. This is like if the opposing team got your team's playbook in a football game and people said it was fine because "even though you know what they're going to do, you still have to stop them so it's fine." Which is similar to the "you still have to catch them" defense of FFS in tournaments.
  22. Hey, how are you doing? Are you safe and well? Away from the madness, I hope?
  23. That each one goes through the test tank blows my mind considering over half of the Red Eye Shads I buy will never run straight. I've heard every excuse in the book for these things. I LOVE the 1.5 squarebills though.
