Anybody receive the Daiwa shirt promotion?
At the rate I'm going the shirt would be useless because I'd already need the next size up by then

How do you sell your rods?
If I'm just going to end up getting more fishing stuff, I drive 90 minutes south and trade them in with American Legacy Fishing. If I'm looking for cash for something else, Facebook Marketplace has been wildly successful for me selling various items locally.

Most Sensitive Jig Rod ~$300?
I couldn't imagine not getting an Expride if my budget is $300.
-
How do you differ and why?
I'll yo yo a lipless in place in shallow water. Basically dangle it. Works like a charm. I'll pitch a spinnerbait into pockets and around cover like a jig or Texas rig. Also works like a charm.

Best fishing rod for around 125
The Fury 664C is the odd ball in Dobyns bunch. Normally a H Dobyns is a MH by normal standards, but the 664C is quite right. It's actually a real H. Thing is a broomstick. I think it's the size (6'6"). I've had 2 over the years but could never quite make them work for what I had intended so both were sold.

Fish-fighting fit?
I had mozzarella sticks for lunch and pizza for dinner yesterday. You could say I'm into fitness..... Fitness cheesey deliciousness into my mouth.

6'7" Medium Power fast action casting rod uses.
I fish lipless crankbaits and squarebills on a MH/F Zodias just fine. Big Game mono. A M/F is a good jerkbait and popper rod. All of these are treble baits. Definitely not the end of the world and the ripping the hooks out thing is way overblown. This would also make a good weightless plastic rod.

Storing soft plastics and hard lures in the same plano tray
This has never NOT ended poorly for me. I'll never do it again. You will get rust.

There's an agenda we could talk about but not here. None of this is an accident.

Shimano Stradic spinning reel - What size to purchase
ML and M spinning rods is all I know. Sub 7' ML rods, 1000 size reel. ML rods 7'+ 2500 size reels. All M rods 2500 size reels. Super simple. Never had a problem.

What a wife…
I get the humor behind this, but I've never understood this reality for so many men, where they can't do the things they like because of angry wives. Mine always wants me to do what makes me happy, and vice versa. If I ever thought I would have to walk on eggshells around my hobbies, things wouldn't have gone any further. This is a serious problem in western society these days. Men scared of domineering women.

Note To Self: Don’t Do That Again
This thread reminds me of a story from when I was much younger. My friends and I decided to go to the HUGE woods several miles outside of town. We knew a place to have a bonfire and drink beer and whiskey. There was maybe a dozen of us. Sober enough, we found the bonfire spot. After drinking enough to kill a horse per young man, when the fire was finally out and the sun was rising, we went to leave. We finally found our way out by that evening.

Guilty Pleasure Species?
When I'm fishing for LMB, I'm not sad when I catch a SMB. And when I'm fishing for SMB, I'm not sad when I catch a LMB. Does that count?

Ask me no question and I’ll not tell you a lie.
*Looks around me at the country today* Oh man, I don't know (sarcasm)

How do you cope with no anti-reverse switch on new spinning reels?
Well, I mean, my lure is only ever close to the rod tip (but, like, 6" - 8" away if I had to guess) if I'm intending to cast. I don't like damaged guides and I know what I'm doing, so my lure never touches the tip top or any other guide for that matter. And if I need to let a little line out, I pull against the modern drag systems that aren't fragile. When fishing, I trust those modern drag systems that, along with weight, make up most of the cost of the reel and just... fish.

American Legacy Fishing Used Gear Trade In Program Shipping Concerns/Tips
I buy from and sell to them frequently. The caveat is that I'm of little help to you since I live close and go directly to their store. I can say that you get fair prices when trading in, and they accurately judge the condition of the products. Of course they can't on the water test things like reels to truly get a feel for how it's working, and they can't hookset with a rod to tell if it will snap or not from being abused even though it might look to be in great condition. I've never had a problem with them though.

Cold Water Texas Rig Bites
I've never once had a problem with hooksets with EWG hooks. Worth noting that bass in cold water have tough, hardened jaws and flesh compared to the soft, squishy summer months. Make sure you're jacking them.
-
Pflueger President.
In 2008, sure. Times have changed. They've been bad for years. Shimano and Daiwa now dominate this price range with infinitely superior products, while Pflueger continues to get worse.

Shimano spinning reels - Which are "power" reels/which are "finesse" reels ?
A spinning reel is a spinning reel. I like TB a lot, but in this case they're talking nonsense.

Fishing Prescription!
It took drinking and driving to find out that we shouldn't do it. Experiment away!
-
Are you a hammer?
I just go fishing. I know what I'm doing. I'm not a professional or expert, but I know how to catch bass and I know what to do. I'm really good at it. Sometimes things don't work out. And that sucks but isn't the end of the world. Try again next time. I just fish for myself and whatever happens, cool.

Spinning reel and rod recommendation
It's not hard at all to stay at or under $150. Daiwa Legalis reel, Daiwa Aird-X rod. $130, but value that feels like $200+. Don't even think about it. Just do it and be happy.
-
Is it better to have a better reel or rod?
Rod. I'd happily put a Black Max (now Max X) on a $300 rod (and have). I wouldn't feel disadvantaged at all. But I would be extremely unhappy with a $200+ reel on, say, an Ugly Stik.
