Death by Ned
There's always going to be bycatch no matter what someone's intent and target is. I don't mean to catch the ridiculous amount of crappie that I do on a regular Vision 110.

Death by Ned
According to this article and survey from 2019, modern anglers use live bait nearly 65% of the time. https://midwestoutdoors.com/fishing-stats-revealing/ This is surprising to me. I usually see artificial lures for bass, corn for carp, cut bait for catfish, and when I do see live bait, it's worms for panfish. Most of the fishing I see and know of is artificial lures for bass and cut bait for catfish. I hardly ever see the ol worm and bobber, and I personally know of nobody that is interested in it.

Death by Ned
I don't watch or follow Dudley. Is he one of those who waits "to make sure they have it" before setting the hook/leaning/reeling into them?

Women are goofy.
Two summers ago my 8yo (she was 6 then) had to poop really bad so I put the boat as close to shore as possible to get her on the bank to do her business. Every time we're at that lake now we look for the flower she helped grow.

I better never see this or it's over

Women are goofy.
I upgraded my Ned Rig rod last night. My fiancee asked me why I needed to do that this year since I won't be fishing for much longer. I asked why she thinks I won't be fishing for much longer. She said because it's August. Me for the next hour explaining why she's simply insane to think this and that the best 3-4 months of the year are coming. After 3 years this is even more appalling.

Death by Ned
One of my biggest ever smallmouth got a squarebill in the back of its throat. Full on lodged. It's never happened since, and it never happened before. I'm not sure how she did that. I doubt I'll ever get another hook, treble or not, stuck in me by a bass. I got a lipless once, a Whopper Plopper once, and a regular EWG once. After the WP, I changed things big time. I do not handle treble hooked bass by hand. Fish grips every time, pliers every time. With regular hooks, they can get unhooked when they stop going psycho. My hands have become more important to me than their comfort.

This sums me up pretty well
Actually I only addressed the gambling addiction part and anything else you got from that is your own making.

This sums me up pretty well
Of course it doesn't hurt us peasants any, and when the news is covering another drug overdose it doesn't hurt us who are watching any. But nobody can say, "wow, that's great" or "wow, that's wonderful" or "that's totally normal." I don't care if these people lose it all, but they're still absurd addicts who need help, not applause or endearing terms like haha "savage." There's nothing great about this. I'll still sleep tonight, of course.

I'd say ignorant and addict are better descriptions. That's absurd.

Looking Hard at the Shimano Bantam MGL A Casting Reel ~
Nobody actually, that's how they stay in business. Wait...

Hardbaits. i simply suck with them.
I gave up spinnerbaits for a long time, but they've become killer for me for two years running. I've probably bought 100+ in this time frame, to the point of buying spinnerbaits to collect and never use. It's becoming really bad. I feel this in my soul.

Death by Ned
One of the key signs of someone who probably doesn't know what they're talking about on a specific topic or they're just guessing is when they start saying things like "I know people are going to tell me that's not true" or "I know people are going to say I've never had that happen" etc etc. They start by making everyone else a contrarian before they say something idiotic. That's what he did. Right out of the Randy Blaukat playbook.

Death by Ned
I've set my ex-wife up with a Ned Rig. All four of my kids have fished a Ned Rig. I've set my fiance up with a Ned Rig. I've gotten half a dozen friends into fishing a Ned Rig. I've caught thousands of bass on a Ned Rig. I've never seen a fish swallow a Ned Rig, not one time. However, I've had several instances of my kids, their mom, my fiance, and friends who have let bass swallow Senkos and Trick Worms that I have had to deal with.

Yama's new product: Senko TRD
That's always the case with me. I'll lose the rig before the plastic is ever worn out.

Is it true that a smallmouth’s vision is based on profiles and not on colors?
Something like flakes would be really far down my list of explanations for this one. Lure location, water entry (sound and splash) differences, and differences (even subtle) in how each person was working the lure is far more likely.

Another little fishing trip
They still work on waters that are hardly if ever fished, but the bass caught on real quick and it's a complete dud on any regularly fished water. In my opinion from my experience anyways.

How To Handle Bass.
Nothing we do to the bass is nice. Other than straight up breaking their jaw by holding them like a total idiot, I don't think we have a right to judge if someone's hands or grass is wet enough for their slime coat after stabbing them through the jaw, sometimes impaling an eye, sometimes gut hooking them, sometimes letting them ingest a plastic that they won't be able to easily pass, polluting their water with emissions, sometimes reeling them up from dangerous (to them) depths, sometimes smacking them around in wood or rocks, and on and on just so we can have a thrill and then throw them back.

Your worst fishing habit
I have a few hobbies almost as important to me as fishing. I have a whole clan of ironbjorns at home too. If the bite is bad for a couple of hours with no signs of improvement I'm definitely going to do something more fun (to me) than bake or freeze for zero reward. Nature is cool, I see it every day. It's like 4th of July fireworks - neat, I've seen this a lot, it's not enough to make me want to go... It's the festivities and activities that go with it.
-
Your worst fishing habit
If the bite isn't good for two consecutive hours I'm going home to do something else.

Sale baits "you'll make work"
There's days I'll just take some Senkos and terminal. T-Rig, Wacky, Ned, Shakey, Jig (Senkos actually make a decent trailer when cut down, another good way to utilize shredded Senkos). I'm all about "making it work" because it will, and along with everything else in life, fishing is only as hard as people want to make it.

Your Fishing Garbage?
I put my trash in my bag and then sink it to the bottom of the lake, river, or pond. ...it goes in my bag and then in the trashcan when I'm near a trashcan. Littering disgusts me and is easy to prevent. I will admit that I absolutely do not search for the 2" piece of line I cut off tag ends though.

Thought I'd joined the four pond club?
Nice catch. If you use postimages dot org you can use the link to post your image in full.
