  1. Everything I am taking with me this morning. Pond: grass, wood. Conditions: muddy water, overcast, breeze. Everything not in hand will be in my hoody pocket.
  2. Thank you for being reasonable about wake boats. I don't have or use one and never will, but I pleasure boat a lot, especially with my kids. We absolutely love going out on the pontoon and having a blast exploring, swimming, and relaxing. We love water. Sometimes that love of water is fishing, sometimes that love of water is pleasure boating. Too many fisherman think the water is there for them and them alone. As a fisherman I know what they're thinking, feeling, and the space they need, so we give it, and I don't really have any problems ever, but sometimes internet discussions get so stupid about these topics that people start talking about guns and fighting. To me it doesn't get any dumber.
  3. It's not. On most bank fishing trips I take one maybe two rods and a small handheld bag. It's about being more interested in the fish than your gear.
  4. You'll get hung up a lot less if you use a proper 1/15 oz or lighter head, and you'll bend less hooks and catch more bass (mostly due to action, you're killing it in a bad way with that heavy of line) if you lower that line to no more than 15lb braid and no more than 10lb mono or fluoro leader, 8lb being ideal imo, but 6lb being good too. 1/6oz head on a Ned is a wannabe shaky head.
  5. Poor understanding is more likely. Bass are as stupid for Senkos and Neds as men have been for and around pretty women for countless millennia.
  6. I had a good Chatterbait bite going for awhile and then it died a couple years ago. Not even a sniff. Sold all my Jackhammers. Have been trying the new Mini Max with the same results of absolutely nothing. It's the same exact thing that happened to me with a spinnerbait for a long time, it was useless. Now the spinnerbait is one of my best producers. Really believe in fish becoming educated. Of course Senkos and Ned Rigs are education proof, like men and pretty women.
  7. I'm glad he didn't display mental weakness by going at it with the guy.
  8. The best and most expensive part. More men have died for it than probably anything else.
  9. My preference in order is, 1. Pond 2. River 3. Lake I prefer ponds (especially the secluded variety) above all because it's incredibly easy to locate and catch bass. I'm not obsessed with size at all (although some of the biggest bass are caught in secluded ponds); I'm all about numbers and fun; size is secondary. Next would be streams (again the secluded variety) because I like to go wading and take it all in. I'd rather pleasure boat and swim in a lake than fish in a lake.
  10. My girl's cat is a mental psychopath so the vet recommended she get this pheromone system. It's like one of those things women plug into the walls that vaporizes liquid into smell good stuff, except this one cannot be smelled by humans and is the feel good pheromones cats like. One of these devices is plugged in and emitting this stuff right next to my rod rack. I have noticed that I have caught absolutely nothing with a pre-rigged bait since she got these. I'm starting to wonder if it's because the baits I have pre-rigged are getting this crap on them and the bass don't like it.
  11. Idk maybe it's the scent of the polish
  12. For Texas rigs, lighter weight and HOP the bait, do not DRAG the bait.
  13. I would never correct the mistake of a 6 or 7 figure company. I count change to buy a sack of potatoes. ?‍♂️
  14. In no world is anyone searching anyone's home for fish lol. I'm avid C&R but this goes above and beyond anything American.

5" watermelon with red and black flake Senko, weightless t-rig, 3/16oz weighted t-rig, or wacky. Nothing compares for me.
  16. I practice the art of being an adult who doesn't allow myself to be bent to the will of fictional creatures. I look at my finances and decide whether or not I can afford something, and then I look at my gear and decide whether or not I need something. That's how I do it anyways.
  17. The first time I used a Spook blew my mind. I remember it not being as hard to walk as I'd always assumed and it easily and vastly outperformed every other top water I've ever used and still does.
  18. I wouldn't fish if bass fishing wasn't a thing, and I wouldn't bass fish if I couldn't do it alone the majority of the time.
  19. I almost never get up at the crack of dawn to fish. I go whenever I want to go. I've found most of the book knowledge is little more than opinion. My best bass fishing is the dead of summer in the afternoon on nice sunny days. The books tell me this is very bad. Just fish.
  20. This a new one for me. I've never seen anyone feel like the 5s are a M/H here or the Dobyns Facebook page. Can't say for real life since I only know of my son and I who use them. At 1/4-1oz H/F the 4s scream M/H. The 5s are Mags at 3/8-1 1/2oz. They're frog and jig rods.
  21. 5s are Mag Heavy and 4s are Heavy. It's the 4s that are more like M/H. The 3s are what Dobyns labels M/H but fish like a Medium.
  22. I've been in plenty of situations in my life where I've had to do things I didn't want to do, but fishing will never be one of those things that I can see escalating to that level. People getting into fights and the not-so-uncommon talk of guns when it comes to fishing over spots and land is up there with the dumbest things I've ever heard in my life.
  23. I've been known to hook some frogs with plastic worms when the fishing is slow and I'm bored.
  24. I think for that amount of money, I'm going in at 3 feet. Always have spare clothes with you, especially during cold water times, especially especially for the kayakers.
  25. Bass will always eat crawfish. I've never seen a wiggly cigar natural food source in water, but a stick bait seems to catch bass. Crawfish can be found in roadside ditches, so I highly doubt your pond doesn't have any.
