  1. I'm a Disney princess who has just fallen in love every time I walk into ALF
  2. 1/0 Gammy Octopus Circle, ALWAYS. Stout and never misses fish.
  3. Yep, I once believed a woman who said, "he's like a brother to me."
  4. It's just the love of bass fishing. Nothing deeper. Learning is part of bass fishing, not separate.
  5. I fish small water. You get nothing from me unless you call me dad or sleep next to me.
  6. Not quite the same thing you're discussing in your OP, OP, but the last couple of seasons has seen me go almost entirely power fishing. I noticed a gradual decline in my finesse success, so I started going bigger as my go-to with a lot of success. I think a lot of my power fishing success in 2020 and 2021 has a lot to do with the fact that basically everyone is finesse fishing and a lot of anglers are impatient. Impatience leads to switching over too fast and on the other end of the spectrum laziness. I think the bass are seeing a lot less power lures than ever before and therefore they're working - for me - as well as they ever have if not better than they ever have.
  7. Everyone makes fun of the US customary system but can we talk about the absurdity of 29,215 being US 253 and how that's somehow better.
  8. To be fair they don't even arrest people for shooting dope in gas station bathrooms or for robbing cargo trains in Cali anymore.
  9. I have to assume it's possible because they put them on their boat. Pitching/flipping jig rod Skipping jig rod Casting jig rod Finesse jig rod Heavy cover jig rod The possibilities are endless. I've never before seen the super specific number of 4.
  10. My idea of a soft tip is the Dobyns rods tip. I prefer them in all things.
  11. Dobyns Sierra 704c or 734c. The rod says H/F, but it fishes like a MH/MF. This isn't just my opinion. You can research the rod and you will find that it is THE all purpose moving bait rod in the Dobyns lineup that isn't specifically designated as a moving bait rod. Lure range is 1/4-1 oz.
  12. I personally eat the whole beer, bottle and all, like a popsicle.
  13. I use 12 lb Big Game or Yo-Zuri Hybrid on the banks for everything.
  14. Just use heavier line from the bank to keep them from diving as far. Works for me.
  15. I just checked Tackle Warehouse. What's all gone up? Super high end stuff? I use $150-$250 rods and $100-$200 reels. I'm not seeing an increase in my usual stuff. As far as Pure Fishing (Pflueger and Abu specifically, which I don't use anymore and haven't in awhile), I noticed a $5-$10 bump at least a year or two ago.
  16. I can't skip with a baitcaster. That mechanic has just never taken with me and it's possible that it never will. Whatever it is, I don't have it. However, I'm a magician in all other aspects of baitcasting, which doesn't really make any sense to me as far as the inability to skip. Maybe I just need somebody to teach me in person whatever it is that I'm not seeing in videos or comprehending in text. Anyways, I keep my reels as loose as anyone realistically could. My spool is a side to side wobbling mess and I use almost not brakes much of the time. My thumb is great. Side arm, pitching, behind the back and under the leg (joking), etc I'm as good or better than anyone else. Accuracy is top notch. Hand eye coordination skills have always been natural for me. I'm a league pool player and a competitive video gamer. When I was in high school and played football I could throw a football 55 yards on a dime and was more accurate on the run (and can still hit 40-45 with a good amount of accuracy even now in my 30s, going long periods of time without picking up a ball at all). I can also catch d**n near anything. I wonder if that natural ability plays a role in my casting ability. The problem is, in high school I wasn't smart enough on the field to go to the next level no matter how good my physical ability was, and I'm not smart enough to learn how to skip nor choose the correct spots and presentations often enough to combine it with my casting ability to make something special, and I know I miss a lot of bites from failing to notice a strike, so I remain a forever average guy with physical gifts.
  17. We're getting there. March is in less than 3 weeks (captain obvious over here).
  18. If I'm getting skunked and there's no signs of promise I'll sit down and pray the rosary or browse on my phone while enjoying the outdoors. In other words, it doesn't bother me at all. Disappointing, sure, but entirely forgettable and doesn't bring forth any discernable negativity out of me. Same with my other hobbies. 8 ball pool (league play, and for fun) and competitive Call of Duty gaming. If I lose, I lose. I'll never understand the guys that explode in anger or pout or cry and throw tantrums or cuss or any of that garbage.
  19. I love the $100 Lew's LFS, the Lew's KVD, and the Lew's Tournament Pro, but the Tournament MP disappointed me more than any other reel ever has. I found it to be finicky to the point of being unenjoyable and dysfunctional. It's possible that I got a bad reel.
  20. I wouldn't want 6# anything with a bass in weeds.
  21. Fluorocarbon is not very good fishing line. It isn't as invisible as marketed, it's stretchier than marketed, and it has poor knot strength. Bass are not line shy fish. Monofilament is much better line. Technique specific rods are a sham. Every company has a different idea of what action and power is, which alone proves this point. It's a money making gimmick. Fishing is not that complicated. Too many anglers prepare for the once in a lifetime scenarios over the typical every day situations. There's nothing wrong with booze before noon and only relatively recently in human history did this become taboo.
  22. Fine budget stuff, but then I don't know why someone wouldn't just go Lews in this range.
  23. More and more stories of thievery lately. This new world is madness. Hope you get compensated.
  24. Half of negative reviews are all about the shipping times that have absolutely nothing to do with the product or in most cases the company itself.
