Three Atlanta starters we're facing: Elder 3-0 1.75 ERA Strider 4-0 2.57 ERA Fried 2-0 0.45 ERA I think we'll be fortunate to win one of the three.- profanity.

Well on wednesday we found fat head minnows in Valley City to use at Baldhill dam so that was great. What wasnt so great was the dam was a rushing turbulent blown out mess of chocolate water so after packing all our gear down to the rivers edge we headed back up after 30 minutes. Lake Ashtabula which the dam holds back was still frozen as far as the eye could see. I read the dam reports on water flow and guage height but i never fished Baldhill in the spring so i just had to see for myself, duhhhh. The minnows are in the freezer in a container of cheap vodka. It looks like i will have to buy a minnesota license and go catch crappie at our favorite crappie hole for the next month.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
O"s win today but it was brutal 13 to 10. We burned our 2 closers Cano and Butista just to beat the Royals who were tatooing the ball all day. Royals came back from being down 8 to actually taking the lead 9-8. Thanks to Ramon Urias birds retook the lead and the win. O"s pitching staff hasnt had a quality start in 5 straight games. May need to get the northfolk shuttle fired up to get a fresh arm or 2. Atlanta is next, hold your popcorn tight.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
- ND fishing license online only
While at scheels i went to the counter as i always do and asked to buy my fishing license. No more obtaining license in store, only online. If that is true for all bait and tackle stores some old timers with no computer knowledge may be left frustrated about this.- what is your thought process for buying a new vehicle?
I converted my old lawnmower into a street legal car. It may just come down to that. My deceased granpa drove his srx 70 john deere lawnmower around town to the grocery store. The cops stopped him and told him no more so he bought an electric scooter.- Winter 2022-23
Stopped in at scheels today to check the minnow situation and all tanks are bone dry of water. Scheels told me they usually get minnows delivered on wednesdays but last wednesday the minnow man didnt show up. They dont know if he is coming this wednesday, GULP.- Winter 2022-23

Wife and i going to baldhill dam on wednesday as 71+, 10 mph winds sunny. Smallies, walleye, muskie, pike, white bass........ its a smorgasbord of fish to catch. Scheels last week only had crappie minnows so i will buy a scoop of them and bring a few packs of gulp live. Will start out with search baits, cranks, lipless, a mimic minnow then throw some mooneye hair jigs and if wife is catching with the minnows i will have to go that route if i am failing at my approach.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!

- Ringing of the ears
Had ringing ear since age 12. Went shooting with my cousins and Shot a .22 pistol and the percussion was loud enough it rang my ear to the point i went to the dr. Nothing they could do so i live with it to this day. Went to wifes dads birthday in the philippines a few years ago and they love super loud parties banging with music all day and night. Cant escape it so i wore my silicone earplugs all day and night at the party. No one else cared about their ears, even mothers with babies didnt care as they all sat and stood in front of the speakers.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
The O"s split a doubleheader today. Grayson Rodriguez the highly touted rookie got the win in game 2. He struckout 9 batters in 5 innings.- Minnesota minnow shortage

- Loons cant walk, did you know?
It was literally raining LOONS in Wisconsin…. ? Wasn’t just that ^ one, it was a whole bunch of them all over the state. Apparently it’s called a “loon fallout” and according to this Raptor Education Group FB post it… > “…occurs when atmospheric conditions are such that the migrating loons develop ice on their body as they fly at high altitude and crash land when they are no longer able to fly due to the weight of the ice on their body or the interference with their flight ability.” And if you didn’t know: > “Loons cannot walk! They will need your help! If you find a loon on land or on a road or cow pasture, realize that it cannot walk. Their legs are placed to the back of the bird and are made for swimming and diving not walking.”- Minnesota minnow shortage
Taken from the walleye central forum. Did you know that Minnesota and Maine are the only 2 states in the US of A where live minnows for fishing must be 100% homegrown? Meaning here in MN we can export bait to other states, but we can’t import any when we are short. Sounds like it’s going to be extremely difficult to find live minnows in MN this season. And not just shiners…might not even be any fatheads to go around. Lot of insight from minnow trappers all around the state in the full write-up here, few excerpts below: > Koep and others say the root of the minnow shortage is the continuing loss of harvestable water. Invasive species have put many waters off limits, while shorelines that were once undeveloped are now being purchased by people who introduce competing uses, including the stocking of fish that deplete minnows. > Bait dealers also say that wetland restoration projects undertaken for the benefit of waterfowl hunters intentionally disrupts fathead populations. In addition, the DNR itself has unknowingly moved some of its walleye-rearing operations to ponds used by minnow trappers. Meanwhile, agricultural drainage practices usher more and more water into river systems, shrinking large ponds and drying up others. > At the meeting in Brainerd, minnow trappers also complained about losing access to ponds and lakes inside state and federal wildlife lands that no longer allow motorized vehicles. And in the past few years, recurring droughts, floods and severe winters have disrupted minnow populations by causing winter kill or introducing undesired fish populations. > Moreover, the bait dealers stressed to the DNR that minnows don’t reproduce in ponds as heartily as they did 15-20 yrs ago. They are slower to develop when stocked and slower to bounce back after winter kills, they said. The group wondered out loud if farm chemical runoff could be a factor, but no one had evidence. Obviously this is a huge bummer for minnow trappers and local baitshops – some small businesses might not survive this season. ? Sounds like the DNR is looking for solutions and making changes…in the meantime you might be forced into fishing more artificials for walleyes this season. I guess the good news is there’s never been a better time to sling around the “fake” stuff for walleyes with all of the new information and gear available today….- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
- what is your thought process for buying a new vehicle?
For me as long as the engine and tranny are performing optimally i drive mine untill the floorboard rusts through. I own a 2004 honda civic and am very pleased with it. Todays cars along with the civic have CVT transnissions and i am not a fan of cvt and its steel lined belt. Also to much electronics inside the car and now electric parking brakes which is just to much tech that can fail. I will always buy used going back a few model years to avoid the cvt, the turbos and electronics.- The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
