Spring Weather
i have been talking the the Army corp guys. they said they are making some changes, but really it is about not blowing out our dams. they have to let water out in anticipation of water to come. and cities that are flooding are kinda at the oceans edge. short of bull dozing all the homes and building bad ass bass lakes, there is no other options. CA is made up of 7 (i remember 7)distinct water sheds. every watershed has one massive reservior in it, some have multiple. these came about in the 1950's when engineer hoisted the CA water act(i cant remember the exact name, but it was lame). funded the entire program. they even put a canal to move water from one end of the state to the other, with a massive mountain range in between. BIG money. i dont think any other state has taken on such a thing. back to the "gross mismanagement". they have 5 or six reserviors under a pilot program. they typically have a calendar date where they release water. now? they are basing those release dates on actual rain and snow. still risky, since a quick thaw can over burden the dams. they hope they can react in time. i would love to hear some other ideas from some of you all. especially from the non CA guys sitting in armchairs wearing their water district football jerseys. ahhaha ....love you guys, but dangg..the army corp of engineers are no joke. nobody knows dams better. This year is a good test for the Army Corp. they better sharpen their pencils. rain has been epic. i think this is the second or first year for that pilot program. Lake Medocino near my home is one of the lakes and it is bulging full. bulging. i had a long commute this morning. woke up, looked outside and said, "NERP!". i am now working from home in house slippers. you know who is our biggest water consumer? the nut (walnut, no almonds?) industry. huge lobby groups..private companies. nobody looks at them, and they love it. keep us thinking about more reservoirs. i dont even like walnuts or almonds. well, i like almond milk. dang!!

whats your favorite prop bait
i've taken a few choppo fish..and a few W-plopper fish. i love casting them Faaaaar and chugging them back thru weed channels. the anticipation is addicting. i am not totally succesfull to be honest. and it is a no brainer cast and reel bait. i think i will try the ChopKicker next. change it up. EVERYONE is flinging a whopper plopper on the Delta.

Spinning Reels vs Baitcasters
just like how i can speak two languages fluently, i am pretty fluent in both spinning and casting. my accuracy is similar on both. like everything, there are good days and bad days. on good days, i feel amazing with accuracy. i love being proficient at both and feel sorry if you cant even toss a spinning accurately. it's you, not the gear bro.

Spinning Reels vs Baitcasters
Fairy Wand? Because you’re not into it you get to label it? I love the two I have. And I can cast a BC like a rockstar. One day I’m buying a wind buster with an exist reel so I can see what rarified air smells like. I personally feel the fish fight on a spinning setup is more exhilarating. A big bass is very dramatic. I get it some people don’t like it. But I really question a person when something that has nothing to do with themselves get them bothered and all judgey. You do you. Let others do them.

Nicknames
I was nicknamed Curtis as a kid. It was because (I think it was Curtis- it wasn’t a good nickname) there was one Asian kid in the Mouseketeer show and that was his name. So naturally all the kids glammed onto that. It was better than the other stuff that called me. I grew a thick skin quick and only punch my way out a few times.

First Bait-caster Reel Recommendations
i am fairly proficeint with a casting reel. but the Daiwa 150 SV Tv...i cant keep the letters in a reel name straight. out of the box, this is the easiest reel to cast. for me. by far. my Shimano 150 MGL, once you read the instructions and set it ups for yourself correctly, it is the same. i would have to hook my face, mid cast and have a pelican come and run into the line as i fall out of my kayak to backlash epic-style. now, everything is pretty easy to pick out when i do the rare flub.

d**n. What penal code.? I’ve loaned a fix blade to a game warden. No issues. That’s daggers and dirks. I called a lawyer friend. my other friend Carrie’s his chef knives in a pack. She isn’t worried.

Four season anglers, which season gives you the most trouble?
every season has it's challenges. Spring time is our windiest. and for a kayaker, that totally sucks..or blows. i hate strong winds in a kayak.

hahaha..not the way you think. shotguns are just easy, like selling a fishing rod. i'm not talking about some gray market black rifle. BUT. finding a fair price, shipping is a non starter for me. meeting at a public place etc. PITA. there is just an element of "pain" to it all. i could put them on Craiglist but then... no thanks. can you find that first one for me? never heard of it.

Me. maybe my shotguns. i dont even remember last time i opened my gun safe. and when i did, it was to get my passport. but i use everthing else. i think. my neighbor bought a RV trailer and a big diesel truck. neither moved for a year or two, then he sold them. what a waste!! my friend has a 21 foot bass boat in his moms garage with one trip on the clock. been maybe 8 years. in his defense he did buy an ocean boat and he uses every weekend. he kayaks are hobies and are probably full of spiders. you? i sold my motorcycle because i was getting too lazy to put on all my protective gear to ride to work.

hypothetical question. would you rather be.......
i'm talking extremes here. panty dropping good looks and you cant figure out 15% tip or change a tire. or smart as heck, but you literally have a face that your mom has to fake love. extremes.

First Bait-caster Reel Recommendations
i like Delaware's advice. at this point, he doesnt even know what he likes or dislikes. Everyone is quick to jump on the JDM train. but i kinda think a newbie needs a robust warranty. just me. i dont think casting a BC is all that difficult, and i started as a kid. it was a Magforce. it was easier than i thought and my younger brother actually explained and showed me the moves. he was a natural. he was maybe 12 or 13.

Four season anglers, which season gives you the most trouble?
i want to say winter, but it really depends on which season i happen to be in. i can manage a skunk anytime. haha..but winter i'm cold and skunked. seems to hurt more.
