471! Thats like 5 pounds of meat. lol Frog legs are really good. Mom wouldn't even let me bring it in the house, it was in a ziploc bag. I had to store it at my neighbor until she decided I couldn't eat.

I take the tip, place a little drop of super glue down the hole. Then I put a little bit of the hot glue where I slide the tip top on. I slide the tip on over the hot glue. Then I put more hot glue around the tip. While the glue is still hot, s l o w l y rotate the rod in a circle, with the tip face towards the floor, so the glue spread out evenly. The I take an ice cube, and use that to move the glue and cool it down. Then you leave it for a while so the glue can set up. I have replaced 5-6 rods doing this, and you can't even tell the tips been replaced.

A squirrel made a nest in my neighbors roof, right next to the gutter. I brought my pellet gun over, and it ran out of the hole it made, and ran 30 feet up a tree. I took my pellet gun(No scope or sights), Crosman Benjamin Prowler, and covered up the squirrels body with the barrell of the gun, and pulled the trigger and down he fell. I spent 45 minutes trying to skin it, first time ever trying. I brought it home and my mom told me I couldn't eat it. ?‍♂️

Bottom: Gym shorts, sweats, Frogg Togg men's pilot pro bibs. Regular or wool socks. Top: Huk sun shirt, Huk Hoodie, Reel Life Submariner Jacket, gaiter, some kinda hat. Might wear a coat once it gets a little colder. And a pair of long johns for the really bad stuff.

You might be able to find a local club to compete in. They are a ton of fun. Our school doesn't have a club, but we compete in one locally.

Had our first two High School tourneys of the season this weekend. Our boater had to pull out because he got covid. We we fortunate enough to get a boater the night before the first tournament. The Kansas Youth Director, and owner of Temptation Tackle, let us us his boat for the second tourney. On the first day we had bluebird skies and very little wind the first day. I caught a smallie that was a hair short on my second of third cast. Then we caught shorts till noon. There were big balls of shad everywhere, but nothing feeding on them. I saw a fish torpedoing around and jumping out of the water chasing a shad, right in front of the trolling motor. I made a short cast with a DT-6 and caught him. He barely kept. The fishing was very tough for everyone, only one full limit weighed in. We took 33rd place out of 61 boats, with 1.96. We had a ton of fun with our really cool boater. The next day had 20-30 MPH winds and wind. We caught a couple shorts pretty soon after we started fishing. We ran a little ways up the lake and my partner caught our first keeper on a ned rig. We then didn't get bit for a long time. We ran to our next spot around noon and made a few cast and my partner got snagged. He tried to get it out and handed it to me. I handed him my rod with a tube on it and he made a cast. He then reels a 3 pound smallie right up to the boat, I go to net the fish and the line get stuck in net and the fish is still swimming, after a minute or two the smallie is miraculously in the net. We should've lost this fish. We then fish the rest of the day and catch 20 pounds of white bass. We head into weigh in thinking we had a really bad day and are told the entire junior division blanked. We were one of the 17 teams to weigh fish out of 58. We took 9th place in this tourney with the two keepers my partner caught, with 4.96. Overall the fish was really poor tourney wise, we caught a ton of fish and my first and second flathead, but we're happy with the 9th place finish. We need another top 10 and we should go to state. We've got 6 more tourneys left.

Because this happens when I don't fish:

Are you throwing it on a spinning rod or baitcaster? Buzzbaits seem to work better in tougher conditions, or in the middle of the day. I wouldn't ever think to throw a WP in the middle of the day, but I would pick up a buzzbait. If your river smallies aren't that big, you might have trouble hooking up. You'll probably have better luck with LMB. 55 degrees seem to be the water temp people look for when they start fishing buzzbaits in the spring, and when they put them away in the fall. Spring, summer and fall is when I throw mine. If you want to catch at least one, throw it until you run into a better sized fish that can get the hook and trailer in its mouth.

I got my at learners permit at 14, and can get my DL at 16. My mom freaks out when I drive, so I hate driving with her. I've got about 10 hours, but have to get 40 more and ten at night.

I fished both these tournaments, and it was bad in terms of tourney fishing. We caught one keeper on Melvern, on a DT-6, and two keepers finesse fishing on Perry. Our one keeper got us 33rd place on Melvern, and our two keepers got us 9th place on Perry. Caught my first two flathead ever, they were both about 9 inches long, really cool looking fish especially the little guys. We caught a ton of shorts, and caught the snot out of the white bass. On Perry the entire Junior devision blanked, and only 17 of the 58 high school team weighed fish. We got some valuable team of the year points. More to come in Latest Catch Pics Thread!

If he didn't get hooked deep he probably just held onto it, or you picked it up pretty soon after he picked it up.

If you can fish out of one, might have to look into it...

I don't throw anything heavier than 3/8. I feel like 1/2 would make it really difficult to reel it across the surface, without burning it in.
