St. Croix premier UL
Wish I could get Dobyns here in Canada. I feel like the premier isn’t an upgrade over the panfish series. ?. Should of just waited on the back order and go with what I know and like. Lesson learned. Oh well. i wish i waited for the panfish to get in stock. LoL. I like the panfish series better and don’t feel the premier is an upgrade.

I have the same rod and it’s amazing for chatterbaits and buzzbaits! That’s all I ever toss with it now. LoL. ??- St. Croix premier UL
Hey everyone. So I recently snapped the tip on my st croix panfish series spinning rod recently. 6’ UL. Heck of a rod and unfortunate accident. So I contacted st croix and they agreed to replace it for a fee since it was out of warranty. Unfortunately they are out of stock of all their panfish series rods and trout series rods so they offered me an “upgrade” to the premier line up and are sending me a 6’ UL premier. I don’t know much about st croix and what’s what but is the premier that much of an upgrade over the panfish series rod and will it fish differently? I just found the panfish series rod to be perfect for how I fish UL. On the plus side. I trimmed the rod down to the closest guide so now it’s 5’6 and it works just as good except it’s more of an extra fast action over fast. LoL- Found my dream chatterbait rod.

They opened up Zone 20 this year for pre-spawn bass then closed it for the spawn and it re-opens next weekend.- Of Fate and Road Runners....

Unfortunately there is no longer a Canadian distributor for Dobyns rods in Canada. ?- Shimano slx mgl side plate won't close
Have you taken the spool out and then closed it without issues with no spool in?- Spinning combo help
Yeah. I picked up a Celilo UL. Have a daiwa QG750 kicking around asking to be used. LoL- Spinning combo help
I ended up giving her my tatula LT 2500 reel. I hated that reel on my MH evergreen combat stick. Tried it on a 6’4 M Veritas and hated it on there. I ended up picking up a 7’ ML Veritas PLX spinning rod and it was a hit. Wife loves it. Had fun fishing it and man that tatula LT is a fantastic reel. I am no longer a hater of it.. I am now a believer. Guess it just takes the right rod to shine. now I’ll have to get her a MH rod and reel either spinning or casting to get into the heavier stuff. ?. the bait monkey never stops- Spinning combo help
good idea. She was using my st croix panfish rod but I accidentally snapped the tip. So waiting on st croix to process my warranty for a replacement. They told me it’ll take 2 weeks to start my claim. ??♂️ I have a spare ultralight reel kicking around as well so that’s a good idea. I never thought of picking up an Okuma Celilo. I’ll go that route. as for a bass spinning rod then, should I go M as a good all around spinning rod?- Spinning combo help
Can’t get Dobyns in Canada or I’d check out the Fury for sure. Thanks for the suggestions. The Legalis was considered as well. ??. I don’t use my tatula LT so I’ll end up giving that to the wife. So just hunting down a rod now. as for budget I was looking around $100-150 for rod. I was checking out the new Abu Veritas PLX rods in ML. Any thoughts on those?- Spinning combo help
Hey everyone. Looking for ideas for a good spinning combo for the wife without breaking the bank. Drawing a blank here since most of my combos are baitcasting and very very very few spinning set ups. Looking for a good all around combo for bass and panfish. Was thinking either a ML or M. any and all help is appreciated and will be better than her broken kids rod from years ago. Shes just getting back into fishing so I want to make this good and fun! thanks everyone!- Abu Garcia Revo Premier Gen 4
I had one. I hated it. The brakes are extremely finicky and would need to constantly be adjusted. I’d get 2-3 great casts and spend 10-15 castings re-adjusting the brakes. Maybe I had a lemon. Maybe not. ??♂️. But it was not a joy to use.- Canadians ordering from Asian Portal
Great to know! Thanks for the input. I can handle $36 customs- Canadians ordering from Asian Portal
Anyone from Canada, specifically Ontario order from Asian Portal? Looking to order a reel or 2 and just wondering if you have been charged import/custom fees? thanks- Curado MGL vs SLX MGL
Do you want a corvette or a civic? ?- Expride Question
That’s a weird place to make it a 2 piece. Aren’t they usually more in the middle or down by the handle??? ?- What exactly happened to spider wire?
That berkley x5 and x9 is great. It’s been my go to line since it came out. Love it!- What exactly happened to spider wire?
Spiderwire mono line is great- What exactly happened to spider wire?
Used to love spiderwire. Stealth was my fav line and then all of a sudden it’s just non stop break offs. ??♂️.- MGX2 feeling Geary
I’m not sure what I did. But I decided to just strip the reel down to the frame. Clean up everything good. It was super oily and greasy from factory. I re-assembled everything and re-greased and oiled everything and now it’s quiet and smoother than ever. ??♂️. Thanks for the replies everyone. I just hope it stays this way now- MGX2 feeling Geary
Thanks. I’ll try that.- MGX2 feeling Geary
Brand new MGX2. Took it out a few days ago and it lacked in casting. Brakes off and it still got no distance and wouldn’t even bird nest. took the bearings out today, flushed them. Re-oiled them and wow does the spool really move now. however I didn’t recall the reel feeling “Geary” but now that I’ve put it back together it feels “Geary”. Oddly the reel feels smoother but has some noise to it. I did take the side plate off to take a peak and it’s just dripping with grease and oil. Closed it up without touching anything and planned to clean it later on. any suggestions what would of changed and made the reel feel Geary/noisy now? I’m hoping cleaning it all up and re-greasing it will fix something. thanks - Found my dream chatterbait rod.
