  1. Here you go. Go run the 4 blade spitfire aluminum at max throttle and trim up as much as possible with out porpoising. Lets us know what the max rpms where. If you run in current or wind test it in both directions and average the 2 readings.
  2. Looks a lot like a goby bait. They have become very popular up north after the small mouth discovered the goby was a food source
  3. https://dirtyjigstackle.com/products.php?cat=47 skip like a dream
  4. I have a 115 hp so I keep a spare aluminum prop just in case. I’ve mashed them before. Last time WOT in skinny water I just clipped a rock. Took a quarter size chunk out of the skeg and dinged the SS prop enough to replace it for the day.
  5. Caught my PB on a Revenge bluegill buzzbait immediately AFTER a thunderstorm. Threw it to parallel some lily pads saw a huge wake and kaboom.
  6. My favorite ice cream is frozen
  7. You need to start by finding out what your motors operating range at Wide Open Throttle is. Wide open throttle is how fast of rpms your boat motor goes with the throttle at max power for at least a minute. With those 2 pieces of information you can make a better decision on what’s the best pitch prop for your boat. Not all boats are the same. Even the same make will not be the same. Close but not the same.
  8. What is your rpms at wide open throttle and what is the range of your motor?
  9. Mercury Spitfire X7 was made specifically for your size motor. It’s a 4 blade SS prop with 13” diameter and extra hardened SS blades. It also can be bought in 1” pitch increments to really tune in your overall performance. You should be easily topping out at 38-40 mph
  10. Amateurs launch their boats 3 days a year. Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. My suggestion is if you have to go to the lake, leave the boat at home. Pack lawn chairs and a cooler of beer. Enjoy the cluster show. For added entertainment bring your buddies and bet on who can back up and who can’t.?

  12. After looking online what they are going for and telling the wife. She said NO only as an absolute last resort! She doesn’t even go but maybe once a year. I’m not arguing this one.
  13. This may be an option too.
  14. Well after 17 years of employment at my job it looks like I’m ready to move on to other work. Unfortunately since we recently bought a house that was a 2 year money pit. That most likely means the boat will have to go. My question is this; I looked up blue book value of boat, motor, and trailer. That’s easy. How do I add up all the extras. (4 graphs, 2 anchors, nmea network, digital gauges, Ethernet module and wires, new batteries, etc) I made a list of the purchase price of everything and did a 40% value of original price. Is that fair asking price?
  15. I always took it as a wink wink yeah sure wd40 works. You know like using a beach ball as a bobber?
  16. Not ounces 2.5 as in bait size 2.5”
  17. I use the new SK, 6 th sense, live target, yozuri, Berkeley. All 2.5 - 3.
  18. Rage tail craw keeps it up high
  19. Wake baits sub-surface
  20. You will be completely surprised by turbo engines. I fought it for awhile to. Refused to buy one. Then my Tundra threw a main bearing. I looked at a F150 2.7L turbo regular cab because that’s what fit my budget. Honestly I reluctantly bought it thinking I would hate it. Wow what an engine. In 3 years my mpg is 18.4 average. That includes towing. That’s 6 mpg more than my Tundra. I can also burn off the tires in almost every gear. Not that I do that ? The only thing missing is the v8 growl. Eh I don’t miss that so much.
  21. The 10-12 o’clock method is a good way to start. Cast out Allow the jig to sink to your desired depth Rod position at 10 o’clock Quick jerk of rod to 12 o’clock Reel up slack while watching your line for any movement. If it does anything unusual set the hook. Repeat. Most of the time when you jerk the jig from 10 o’clock to 12 o’clock is when you feel weight. Set the hook
  22. I tend too look more for structure, weed edges & holes, or bottom changes. Up north our lakes are so weedy in summer you will hardly graph a fish unless they are suspended deep, and those fish are hard to get bit.
