  1. You don't weigh the same as a duck do you? ?
  2. Shimano 70/150 MGL's as mentioned above are great. The Lew's SLP frame reels are also very small, comfortable, well built reels.
  3. LOL!!! Growing up and through my 30's, my friends and I would wade/swim long stretches of the Tuscarawas River in pursuit of smallmouth and saugeye. Thought I might drown a couple times, but had a ton of fun doing that over the years. Lots of great memories fishing the Tusc.
  4. Z-Man Zinkerz for wacky. Senkos for Trig. I'm not a fan of elaztech for T rigging.
  5. Not quite that swift of water, but I've gone on some similar rides in pursuit of river smallies in my younger years. I wouldn't dream of it now.
  6. Nice. Congrats on a great day on the water.
  7. I sealed every rivet on my 12' flat bottom from the outside, with 3M 5200. Still good to go 16 years later. Awesome stuff.
  8. Two or three full days a week from March to December.
  9. 110 in loon has been good for me.
  10. This is cheaper and tastes the same. ?
  11. ^^^ I'm in this camp.^^^
  12. I like fast for bottom contact, mod fast for moving baits. Fast rods tend to be more sensitive and better balanced than mod fast rods IME. XF are even more sensitive and better balanced, but they're niche rods for me.
  13. @TnRiver46 will never believe this story.
  14. Try making two extra passes through the loop of the Alberto before cinching down. This will prevent it slipping if the very short tag pulls through. Also cinch it VERY tight. The braid should change color as it finishes cinching. This is how I tie it and I've not had one fail. My terminal knot, (trilene) or another spot on the leader always fail first.
  15. I'll second this. 131 is long casting, very smooth, and it handles great. Not sure if I'll buy more of it or not though, as Fins Infinity has also been very good for me. I think 131 is the better line, but Infinity isn't far behind and costs less.
  16. Pitching the nastiest stuff I can find floats my boat. I often grind away with the flippin stick even when I know something else would likely be more productive.
  17. Rat snake.
  18. DANG!!! Ok,... Who wants to fall on the sword and follow that report? Congrats king fisher!!! What an amazing day!!!
  19. Woody, you need to get yourself a cheap phone tripod. Your pics will be MUCH better. I got one and use the 10 second timer. Works great. Last year I also dicovered the selfie illumination feature on my cell cam. Works great for low light pics.
  20. Weeds, chatterbait, in the dark.
  21. Ark Invoker Pro 7'6" XH F. Rated 1/2-2. It's a bit stouter rod than my Sierra 766, and has a faster taper. It has just enough tip to pitch 1/2 + trailer well, and is absolutely up to punching duty. It's significantly more sensitive than the Sierra too.
  22. Preach on brother!!! I'll be going nocturnal soon. Water's up 7 degrees in the last five days. 62 yesterday morning, with lots of shallow cruisers and few biters. They have love on their minds. FINALLY getting some weed growth. Saw a couple shad schools on the bank. The night bite will be on in a couple weeks, and I'll have the lakes nearly to myself.
  23. Sounds like a good rod for skipping flukes and senkos.
  24. Sounds like OH. All manmade reservoirs without much offshore structure. The ones I fish are between 1K and 3K acres, and they get pounded from April till October.
