  1. Got a tacklewarehouse order in today. Not pictured is the spro crawler and the Daiwa airdx rod I paired with the tournament pro. That combo weighs less than 12 ounces, it's so light. Perfect for throwing a choppo 75 all day. Love the spro crawler, casts a mile and looks great in the water
  2. Thank you choppo, very cool!
  3. zombie posting is cool and good once upon a time I considered live bait fishing easier, or simpler. I still think in some ways maybe it is, but it's not like you just throw a hook through a fish and let it go get eaten. There's more to it than that. Hooking the bait in the right place matters, throwing the bait in the right place matters just the same. Having the right bait matters. If you're trying to C&R with live bait, hooksets are their own skill. The only thing you don't really have to do when live bait fishing vs artificials is give the bait action. Even then sometimes you can and it'll help. It's not so simple. To be good at it takes skill. I just generally find live bait fishing to be boring, unless I'm on Texoma and we're crushing stripers on threadfin as fast as we can drop them. I like the engagement of artificials for all other scenarios though. Plus I don't have to carry live bait stuff in the back of an Accord. lol
  4. depends on what's catchin and where I'm at and conditions and.... but right now, it is the berkley choppo
  5. Trio of four ish bass on whopper ploppers. Bone choppo 120, black choppo 90.
  6. For me it is the red eye shad Honorable mention to the nomad swimtrex 88 3/4oz
  7. Ah the pinion yoke was backwards. I've done that one before too. Oopsie daisies are part of learning
  8. If you took the reel apart, this is likely the culprit
  9. Is there resistance to turning the handle to reel in line? Or does the handle just spin and accomplish nothing? Either way that's probably a job for Delaware Valley Tackle
  10. The main thing that comes to mind is that I don't like wondering around in the dark either Reading back, we're talking bottom composition. I'd think that mud doesn't offer a lot in the way of cover unless there's grass or something, which is essential to a larger ambush predator's success.
  11. I mean the only things I see more of outside city limits are deer and hogs so that makes sense Cities were animal habitat first
  12. You know, the subtle irony of Beauty and the Beast never really dawned on me until the other day. Belle's dad is known in the village as being a crazy old man (thanks Gaston), and then Belle gets locked in a castle and engages with a bunch of talking housewares and an unidentifiable beast that was actually a man
  13. Funny how I can go hiking in the state park and never come across wildlife. But the first time I wake up early during daylight savings, there's a raccoon between me and my car outside the garage. I think we both had our routines disrupted
  14. They liked the one knocker spook in bone color this evening. The bigger fish hit it like a bowling ball
  15. They liked the black choppo 90 today. Probably a dozen swipes missed but I stuck a good one. I believe it takes my mark for biggest topwater bass, 5.3#. Missed a couple on a bone spook too. Feels good.
  16. I've got family in Panhandle, and Amarillo. Been keeping a close eye on it. I hope you all are safe and have minimal losses.
  17. Finally hooked into a few of these little beep boops. Freight trained a red eye shad off the end of the ripraps that make up the pier. Such a fun bite.
  18. I love the H2OX Ultimate Jerk Shad. Cheap cheap and does real good
  19. Just call me Mexico Jim, here with my buddy The Ocho
  20. Went out and caught the biggest spotted bass I've hooked yet to my knowledge. It blew up on the popmax a few times before taking a barb
  21. The old guy at the church i do sound for fishes the same lake I do said they were slamming the red baits yesterday. So naturally I now own three new ones. I don't know that I'll be able to use them like he can but I have too many now to not use one
  22. Have caught one 6.5# bass on a red Chatterbait Minimax with matching powerstinger trailer, and I had a month where the orange pumpkin green flake senko was getting demolished. The same color ned bait still gets hit sometimes. But that's been about the extent of it for me. I kind of want to try a bright red one knocker spook
  23. Not a found lure, but didn't know where else to post this. Bashed a red eye against a rock a while back and mashed up the front hook mount. Just enough that I worry about it. So I repurposed it
