  1. After reading the last couple posts I came here to say this. Bass Pro sells a very nice telescoping net that you can use to overcome dropoffs at the bank. Has saved my bacon in places where I can't just reach down and lip it
  2. I guess I'm a real sound guy now - red bull smashed one of my wireless transmitters on a stunt course yesterday 😂😭 I introduce to you Energizer's new ĀĀ! Size battery. Flattened for your fear and convenience.
  3. I know this feeling way too well. There was a fish I snapped off three years ago and I'm still thinking about it. I was at a small pond in Conroe, TX. I had a bladed jig micro tied onto a spinning rod. Braid to leader. I'd just respooled the reel and forgot to loosen the drag. That is the hardest thump I have ever felt. It was either a giant catfish or a giant bass. I didn't get to see it. But it would have been a PB. My 7-10 pb didn't hold a candle to that thing, whatever it was. It will haunt me until I catch a double digit bass. Sorry for your loss there bud. It hurts. And usually there's nothing you can do but sit with the hurt.
  4. vision 110 7lb10oz lake ray roberts 2022 the stump that turned out to be a fish
  5. Stuck a couple after a shoot with red bull. Tough day but a good topwater bite fixes a lot
  6. all these moments will be lost in time, like tears in propane. time to fish.
  7. didn't know you were in new braunfels. if you ever wanna fish ray roberts I know that lake real good on foot and on (other people's) boat
  8. when i came here to make a post, it said my previous content was restored to the editor. but there was nothing in the text box. I wonder how much storage is taken up on electronic devices by drafts of nothing. files of nothing. i don't even remember what i was gonna post, something about teaching a deer how to vape and trade bitcoins or something
  9. I came here hoping you would reference that thread. I was like...too goofy? have you read the water park thread?
  10. I had a very close call with that same sort of thing a couple years ago and I've been vigilant about comebackers ever since. i was fishing my beloved red eye shad, hung up on a rock and it launched itself back at my face. I turned at the last second and it stuck one barb in about 1.5" below my right eye, right where my beard starts. I wear glasses but those don't stop everything. The guy landing his boat was very wide eyed when i ripped it out of my face lol
  11. Made the best of a half hour before I hit the road for the evening. When roberts turns on, it turns ON. Every fish I've caught this week was on a choppo. It never gets old.
  12. Two best of the five I stuck in about two hours. Missed just as many. That larger girl was foul hooked on the side of the face and I had to pull her through a bunch of invasive milfoil
  13. My bass fishing superpower is breaking my gear in stupid and totally preventable ways. Newest addition to the club, my two week old daiwa kage baitcast rod. Local shop is gonna help me out on the replacement but its backordered till god knows when. I never want to know the sound of $200 snapping again
  14. I told it a funny joke to gain its trust and then it calmly allowed me to take a selfie Did the same thing for this 4-3 about an hour ago
  15. I caught this fish
  16. I love topwater season
  17. I went fishing and I caught these bass
  18. I'm just trying to learn since my favorite park is off limits lol it seems we're lagging a bit from last year at this point in our season here, it's been a slow warm up. I've never seen this many dead threadfin as i did this year. I'll say that it's relieving to see them roll up to a few of the places I regard as duds and have the same experience if they can't get it done in those spots then I don't feel bad about it, and it makes me feel better about my spot choices.
  19. yeah if he'll get out of pond creek, that place doesn't turn on real great until shad spawn. i'd be in pierce spring, lick creek, sand branch, and the south-opening creekbeds at the state park where they're doing weigh in. I bet you sunday is when the biggest bass get caught, cold front coming through that evening.
  20. i don't know pro fishing, so i don't know how the time periods and stuff work. It won't be one guy, but first place as a position will be in that range I should clarify, not to win, but to be in first each day. I think winner is in the 50s it is pretty strange to watch my fishing spots on TV. a lot of these guys fishing shallow are in places I recognize.
  21. I think this will end up taking 30+ daily average to win (edit: to be in first each day) it's not a pleasant day out there and it's not going to get much better tomorrow, south 15-25. running main lake is gonna be bouncy, northwest and straight south winds stack up here pretty hard. I'd be fishing the east shore, the protected points. also find the invasive milfoil
  22. I'm watching a few of these livestreams going "man these guys are fishing spots I've never seen marks on before" and "there was no bait up in there monday" we stalled out on our warmup here and some of these guys are on either side of the stage we're actually on logan parks was up on a spot I have fished a lot thinking I was gonna do something but blanked every time. I don't think he found anything there and I'm just so shocked
  23. Sometimes, ice is a dish that is best served...cold ice water is just a marketing ploy by big ice to sell more ice
  24. this one time, i went to lake whitney and took my civic down this trail with my friend. we opened the door and saw an unbelievable amount of deer bones, and a fresh deer leg just outside my door. I didn't see the actual predator, but I believe that was a mountain lion den
