  1. There's this whoopee cushion that's been sitting on my living room floor for the last week or so. I've passed it, with so many opportunities to move it. Always in the back of my mind. Until tonight, when I left to go to the grocery store. Walking through my living room in the dark, my foot found that fart bag and I scared the heck out of myself. I am a cartoon on a slightly more serious note I've been down and out lately with some joint and overall health issues. I'm feeling a little better and the fishing is getting a little better. So I should have some fish for y'all soon
  2. I have this problem, unexplained until a recent diagnosis. I've found basically the same things txchaser said to be true - no air, no water = no cold, but breaks for heat still necessary. you just can't fish it the same speed as you normally would
  3. I found this chart to explain my recent inactivity:
  4. Is it a bad sign that the car that pulled out in front of me hit a skunk, making it spray my car, on the way to the lake just now
  5. I mean I have the largemouth bass slides from academy. I have worn worse things in the last 6 months
  6. I have fished them quite a bit and I just never get bit on them. Probably user error. I catch probably 90% of my fish on a hardbait. Red eye shad and a walking bait are the bread and butter
  7. Rapala for lipped, strike king for lipless. But if I had to choose one for both probably rapala. There is magic in the balsa wood.
  8. I've never done too well on the jelly worm, but I'll be holding onto the ones I have left a bit harder now that I know they're gone for now. I have the pumpkin/chartreuse and raspberry 12" and the watermelon red 9". I was wondering why I couldn't find them at the box store the other day. That makes me sad
  9. Got out there around 5:40 and had a 5lber on by 6:00. Stuck a few more, nothing big. Red eye shad predawn and a walking bait after. Good stuff. First 5lber I've had in a while.
  10. Spiritual Connections with Sand Bass through Treble Hooks The spirit is anger
  11. Rest in Peace. Wow. I'm gonna miss chatting with him.
  12. This was between 4 and 5lbs. Didn't pull the scale out, it looked recently caught and it is HOT out here. At some point the scale is only so worth it.
  13. DFW has been rough this week, a few days with great indices upwards of 105. Higher if you're by the bank. I've been getting in by 530am and out by 9. Results have been a mixed bag, though I have been getting bit. As hot as its been I'm out here in short shorts and a lightweight cotton shirt, planning my trips carefully, and only carrying what I really need. Got a nice one last night and another this morning though
  14. Best bass I've caught in the last two years was on a choppo 75. I only throw it in March and April though
  15. I almost had something to post here. Biggest bass I've hooked all year got 90% of the way in, jumped a fourth time, and sent my walking bait back at my face. Only bite I got this morning. Its been an OK year for numbers but size is nowhere to be found, and when I do run into it I bungle it. All freaking year. Ive done my best to keep a good attitude this year but it just ain't happening today lol
  16. A heat shrink delivery truck arrives in Phoenix on a typical august day. Opens up the back of the truck and just goes "dang it"
  17. It's always first-come first-served at the public lake, but I will happily share water with anyone who wants to be friendly and have some manners about it. I've been focused on having a better attitude about it this year, I've had multiple times where I get rolled on but we're chill about it. It can be a good experience if you make it good. But this guy didn't even want to say "hi" back to me. I wasn't even casting long, I was maxing about 30 yards with a spinning rod lol that is the grass that dreams are made of. i wish my lake could grow hydrilla instead of the invasive milfoil
  18. Got out around 530 this morning and hit a nice predawn walking bait bite. Caught 7 on that, the surface noise died down so I went to a different spot and caught two nice ones on a dropshot. This dude in his bass club jacket rolled over and spotlocked where my lures were landing (he saw me land the first good one). Our lures collided midair which was annoying. But on that same cast I caught another out from under him. I've said this before. But if I'm on a good bite and you mannerlessly roll up on me like that trying to pick one off, one of us is gonna leave with hurt feelings and it's probably not gonna be me. Just talk to me, and we can fish the same spot.
  19. I get snakebit when I go with other people about 90% of the time. Now, I usually catch the one big fish on the boat, but generally I am bad luck lol
  20. I caught these bass. They probably weighed between 2 and 4lb
  21. Do you believe in life after love
  22. I was just in Marble Falls last week. Absolutely terrible. 5am wall of water is some apocalypse movie sort of stuff.
  23. I fish with @LrgmouthShad as he said. I ran into @Skunkmaster-k out at a very remote Texas lake last year. Like probably an hour from the nearest significant civilization. He recognized me messing around the docks and said something. While I didn't catch a lot, that was pretty special
  24. i just assume i'm being reviewed for quality assurance
