The Falcon rods thread
I picked up one of these in a 7' heavy/fast a week or so ago. Good rod. Feels like a stiffer and matte finish daiwa airdx. It's lightweight for the price and a little more sensitive than the airdx. I'm happy with it

Luka to the Lakers
They don't have enough players on the roster right now to tank. They have more guys out than in right now. I think there's an eight man roster for tonight against Milwaukee? They don't even have enough cap space to sign 10 day players because they took all 9 million back in the Caleb Martin trade. This is some of the worst GM work I've ever seen in professional sports, and I watched the Oilers in the mid 2010s. It's mind blowing that he did all this and still has a job. All I can say is, thank the good lord for Jim Nill, GM of the Stars. He's putting on a masterclass of how to structure a player group for extended and present success. I just wish he could get better coaching. I live on the north side close to Ray Bob, moved here in 93 at the age of 2 lol

Do you still replace your spool bearings to ceramic hybrids?
Boy is this the thread I needed to kill these minutes. I've come to the conclusion that I love ceramic bearings *except* on daiwa tatula models with SV spools (and tatulas in general). I have some theories about why, but tatula SV reels by nature are noisy when you cast them hard. Throwing ceramic bearings in there has produced some very undesirable vibrations and noises, both in the 17 and 20 models. For those I've switched over to some chinesium "abec9" corrosion resistant high rpm motor bearings. $1 on the sites. Much quieter and close performance. I don't know the details and material compositions and I'm not about to try and find out lol. The full weighted spools aren't so bad about it, seems to dampen a lot of what the duralumin spools can't. But a lot of the tatula SVs scream real good with ceramic in them and that's a no go for me The reel I have that benefits the most from the ceramic bearings is the Lews Tournament Pro. It has spool bearings on the spool itself instead of just at the shaft tips like a tatula. I feel like that lends a smoother cast which leads to more results from a faster bearing. In general I'd opt for a ceramic bearing though

It Was Raining and There Were No Kids at the Water Park
Every time I'm cleaning a reel and I accidentally pull the anti-reverse bearings out I feel the urge to start smoking cigarettes again. I definitely didn't have to deal with this today. I'm fine. Everything is fine.

Luka to the Lakers
The other angle of this that makes it worse is that Dallas didn't shop around. They could have taken another teams first rounders for the next decade with a few phone calls. But evil eyebrows dipstick and his owner, gap toothed Pixar man, decided that AD was their target and that 1-2 years of AD and Kyrie was worth a 25 year old who's already putting up Jordan numbers. Unforgiveable on every front.

Luka to the Lakers
I'd argue that this is more lopsided. Minnesota had good reason to believe HW would be their missing piece, and they didn't dump the face of their franchise for him. It did set them back in the draft for a while which is rough, but they made an all-in move and sometimes that's the result. See it all the time in the NHL, there's a reason Mikko Rantanen is back on the trade market *already*. This is worse because there isn't any reason to believe AD is going to be the mavs missing piece. I mean, he'll be *a* missing piece because he'll be in street clothes most of the time. We already know he's gonna play maybe half the games. Furthermore dallas already had lively and gafford up the middle which was more than adequate. Max Christie is a nice player, but that doesn't make this trade work. Draft picks are never a sure bet, but some first rounders would have helped this deal. There's just no angle where this works for the mavs long term. They traded away their only pressure relief valve for kyrie, that man is my age and playing 40+ minutes a night since the trade. Their game collapses when he's off the floor now. There's no backup. They have made this team objectively worse. Minnesota at least got their failed missing piece without trading their heart and soul, and without prior knowledge it would be a disaster.

Nico should never work in people management ever again. That man has no business making decisions that change people's lives like that. Like Jerry Krause but significantly dumber. It's the worst trade in sports history. No contest. I feel terrible for Wemby. A DVT at that age is absolutely terrifying by itself. At the very least, San Antonio is a good organization and they'll take care of him. But still. What a cruel twist of fate.

Lews is taking Abu's spot.
LOL Lews sells the better doyo these days Give me a tournament pro and a daiwa sv reel, I won't really need much else.

Luka to the Lakers
I will never forgive cubes for selling the team to the people who enabled this idiocy. If you have a player like Luka, you immediately fire anyone who suggests trading him and is in position to do so. You don't trade those pieces. Then the media smear job. Doing it in the middle of the night right after the guy buys a house in Dallas. Disgusting practices, unforgivable. The things I really want to say about this trade would get me banned from this forum. I don't anticipate watching another mavs game until they're under new management. I was hoping Luka would drop an 80 piece on the mavs last night

Is it even worth it to throw big swimbait?
You don't know if you don't throw ...but personally I'm done buying hard swimbaits or glide baits. The last three I've bought lost their tails within the first hour of fishing. It's a waste of money for me at this point, especially with berkley making the nessie.

Yes I am aware, I own two on the 100 frame- Daiwa Kage
Yes the size of the CT is my biggest issue with it, I prefer the 100 frame.- Daiwa Kage
I'm very excited about the new Kage reel. It's basically my modded tatula CT: -150SV spool -cork handles -saltwater tolerant bearings But with hyperdrive gears. If I could design a reel, that's basically the exact reel I would make. I will *have* to have one when they're available.- Lew's CXPB1SHA Custom XP Tension knob and magnetic break turn, but have no effect
If it's not the centrifugal braking, might be a spool bearing. Wouldn't crank down that spool tension knob too hard on any reel, I've seen that cause some alignment problems before. - ShareLunker caught a second time
