What lure did you catch your biggest bass on in 2021 ?
Yes it is. That is my PB for length. A few days earlier I caught a 19 1/2” that weighed 4-12. Now that one was a pig! That’s my PB for weight. My New Years resolution is to beat both next year! ?

I agree. The rear dorsal and anal fins look too straight.- NCAA Football Bowl Games
I can think of a few rule changes…unless an injury results from an illegal play by the opposing team, an injured player may not be substituted for until the next stoppage of game clock, and timeouts cannot be used to stop clock. An injured player cannot return until there is a change of possession, the beginning of the second half or the beginning of an overtime period. With these changes, you could get rid of the 10-second runoff rule. Yes, there would be times a player suffers a real injury, but losing him for a few plays is just the consequence of past abuses.- NCAA Football Bowl Games
I have always been reluctant to blame a game’s outcome on officiating, but Tennessee was clearly robbed of an obvious touchdown in overtime. Runner was not down, forward motion was not stopped, and there was no whistle before ball crossed goal line. It’s one thing to get beaten by your opponent; it’s another to get beaten by call that could have easily been corrected.- Kayak tracks with no interior access for bolts
How about a flush mount rod holder with leash and packed with a piece of pipe insulation in which to insert flag pole. You could leash flag to rod holder.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

No, that is the mentality of college and university presidents and athletic directors which probably explains the Univ of Oklahoma’s successful campaign to join the SEC in 2025. The average SEC fan’s mentality, like loyal fans of every other power conference, is school first and conference second. SEC fans understand that a conference exists for the financial benefit of its members. Oh yeah, Florida won SEC championships in 2000, 2006 and 2008.- The Perfect Gift?
I received an Echo last Christmas 2020, and didn’t set it up until Spring. About 5 months ago, late at night I was alone in an adjacent room reading. The house was dead silent. Out of the blue, I hear the Echo say “I am having trouble connecting to the Internet”. If it was having trouble connecting in my dining room, I can imagine the trouble it was having connecting in the garbage can.- Wading the Potomac
I have fished the stretch between Four Locks and Williamsport from my kayak two times in past few years, both in ‘low’ water conditions during the summer (levels lower than average). Dam 5 is approximately 5 miles upstream from Jordan Junction. I noticed a number of places between this dam and Jordan Junction that could be waded in low water. There is another dam about 2 miles down river in Williamsport. The water level increases between JJ and this dam. I do not recall any spots on this stretch that struck me as good for wading. There are two USGS gages between Dam 5 and the dam at Williamsport. The gage upstream from JJ is BELOW dam 5 and is the gage I would rely on for making any decision. The other gage is downstream from JJ and is slightly ABOVE the dam at Williamsport so it reads deeper. On the two trips I fished this stretch I was with a buddy and did not have to bike the CandO Canal towpath from take-out back to my truck, so I cannot say with any confidence how accessible the river is from the towpath, but I would be shocked if there wasn’t a number of paths created by hikers and locals who fish from bank. Good luck if you go!- The never ending quest to improve
Actually, the Dunning-Kruger effect describes just the opposite. It describes an individual’s tendency to overestimate a skill, a competency, an ability, etc. even in the face of evidence to the contrary. A person who knows enough about something to understand that there is much they don’t know is experiencing insight with maybe a touch of humility.- The never ending quest to improve
If serious about the sport of fishing, I believe improvement is the natural payoff for experience. With each outing, with each success and with each failure, we can learn. But we must pay attention and be willing to acknowledge what each experience tells us even if it contradicts the article we just read, or the video we just watched, or the sure fire advice someone tells us. Trust yourself. Don’t minimize successes, and don’t exaggerate failures. Embrace your experience and the improvement that comes along with it.- My review of the Abu Garcia Veritas PLX tournament edition casting rod

I’ve been running boats for 50+ years. I required my son to take the boating safety course when he got his driver’s license. The information he was provided was pretty amazing. I was surprised at what I didn’t know. It is a course worth taking.- Rod balance
“…just add weight to the butt of the rod until it balances where you hold the rod. Just know that this will increase the moment of inertia of the rod which is not good in my opinion.” For as long as I can remember (and longer than I care to), when casting my spinning rods, I have always placed fingertips of my left hand on butt of rod and ‘pushed’ the butt in the opposite direction of my rod tip. Varying the force of the ‘push’ allows me, I believe, to have a much finer control of distance. Am I assisting the MOI?- NCAA Football Bowl Games
