How well do You deal with getting skunked?
I can't stand getting skunked I always have some kind of bait that will catch a bream just in case For example this past Saturday it was freezing and I used some slim jims from my truck to catch bream because I couldn't buy a bite from a bass

Current Favorite Mid - Priced Hard Jerk Bait (2 ft ~ 5 ft. running depth) ?
Oddly enough firetiger is my best color I've tried more natural shad-looking ones and had absolutely no luck

Megabass Dog-X Diamanté: Silent or Rattle?
I use both but one or the other depending on water clarity If the water is clear I like the silent ones but if the water is muddy I like loud ones But that is just my opinion

Bowfin/ Grinnal
I live near the cumberland in Ashland city I didn't know they had any in there (I'll have to try and snag one Lol) Did you get it on the main river or in like a backwater area?

The shadow rap has produced for me this time of year better than any other jerkbait

Soft Swimbaits
I have the exact same mindset as far as these lures go

Yes it does flow into the cumberland I only live like 20 minutes from where the harpeth and cumberland meet so I'll be sure to hit that spot

It's pretty small when it starts out. The closer you get to Ashland city (which I live close to) it gets a lot deeper and wider. Where it goes close to Nashville, it might as well be called a large stream

Very interesting The river is known for being muddy so I'll have no problem finding a mud flat when they move up to spawn (I only have a kayak that is powered by myself and not an outboard so it might be tough to stay on top of them in deeper water) I love using rooster tails and grubs so I should be right in my wheelhouse in that aspect Thanks for the tips!

There's this question I have been wanting to ask for a long time
I strictly hunt and trap for food only I'm a big fan of racoon, groundhog, deer, turkey, and even snapping turtle!

I have increasing white bass and hybrid numbers in the harpeth river near me How do you target them or do you just happen to stumble upon a school?
-
Camel Craw
Looked it up and it seems like it would make a good jig trailer Might have to try it Thanks for sharing!

Uncommon bladed jig trailers...
I would say a fluke is my preferred trailer over a paddle-tail The zoom fluke or Creme fluke work fine for me and are relatively cheap

Looks like a turtle got a hold of him. The ponds around my house are overpopulated with turtles and I've seen a lot of small fish with tails bit off. One time in a particular pond I caught a bream and put it on a stringer... Five minutes later I pick up the stringer to move spots and a turtle had bitten the bream in half (this bream was 8 inches)

Good fish man I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally caught smallmouth off of some nightcrawlers.

Tube bite is heating up here in the south
Texas rigging a tube is something I keyed in on last year towards the start of the "fall transition" I fish in rocky rivers so if I don't texasrig I will get hung a billion times every trip. And you guys in Louisiana aren't the only ones with crazy temperatures Yesterday it got into the 70s here and then today it was in the low 30s all day with a lot of wind I also find that things like tubes and jigs work good for me in crazy weather changes like what we just had here in TN

Question about steep banks leading into deep water with minimal cover
I have an area on a smaller lake near me like you described. It's about 25 feet deep and I just slowly crawl a jig or work a crankbait through the middle and bottom water columns. I can't speak for the spot on your lake, but I wouldn't completely write it off as "dead" just yet

When my knowledge of fishing helped me in the Army.
Cool stuff! Thanks to all who have served!

How long did it take you to "master" a baitcaster?
It didn't take me long personally, but that's probably because my brother had one before I did so I watched him do those skills(ecspecially flipping and pitching lighter baits) so I knew the basics. And yes, skipping is in my opinion the hardest ecspecially near docks because they are all different sizes and shapes and what not

What line to use for Bluecats
Just curious... What kind of bait would you use? I'm torn between some kind of dough bait or cut bait
-
Tubes
I have had great luck with that size as well I usually go with strike king bitsy tubes

East TN anglers opinion on Dixie Custom A-Rigs
I also don't have any experience with them either I've heard some good things about their custom rods though

What line to use for Bluecats
Thanks for the input! Sounds like I'll be using some heavy braid with a mono leader!
