  1. River anyday Around my neck of the woods not many lakes have smallmouth and largemouth (or at least in plenty)
  2. I like Ike I can see where you are coming from though I'm not a loud and crazy guy either. He might think we're crazy because we aren't like him haha
  3. Yikes I haven't had too many weird catches I am known for being able to catch underwater mussels like there's no tomorrow I don't even know why either
  4. I'd take that over a bass anyday haha
  5. Any kind of whopper plopper style bait Buzzbaits
  6. What he said
  7. While I don't fish up north, I have family that does in Ohio. Creature baits tend to work pretty well up there from what I hear. And what hook size and what type of gap depends on what bait you'll fish. I will also suggest that if you choose something like a fluke to use a EWG hook. This spring I kept missing smallies on them because I was using a worm hook. Good luck.
  8. So... I got some oil at walmart and oiled her up. I let it set for like a couple hours and now it's perfectly fine. Will it permanently be like this? Probably not but I'll take it Lol
  9. Hey guys, About a month and a half ago I bought one of the cheapest baitcasters I could find the "Quantum Nitrous". It was going good and then I had a hectic fight with a big smallmouth in the river. During this fight, I might have gotten sand in it or something, but now when I cast it and turn the handle to retrieve my lure, it doesn't "click" and start retrieving the lure. I know absolutely nothing about taking apart baitcasters and fixing them. Do you guys have any suggestions about fixing this issue? Thanks!
  10. There is a pond down the road from me where I also have the same problem of seeing bass but not being able to catch them and also hearing them blow up. I honestly just give up and try to find some on bed this time of year. The only advice I could give you is try a little jerkbait or just try some type of moving bait to try and get a reaction strike out of them.
  11. Those creme lures work great. I use the crawdad crank version and slay em
  12. Paddletail swimbait
  13. Not a huge podcast guy, but I do like the Fishing after dark podcast because they are a bunch of random dudes with mics Lol. They don't talk fishing tips or anything but I like to keep up with the youtube fishing world.
  14. Mine is the whopper plopper
  15. I would just throw some kind of crankbait around Lol
  16. I would agree with this Also it depends on where you are fishing If one is fishing in a lake it is hard to tell if the fish are "active" but in a river or creek system it can be easier to tell by where the fish are positioned based on the current
  17. I like to branch out to different bodies of water Also I'm getting into multispecies fishing so it helps to go to different bodies of water
  18. I get these little kits at Walmart and they work great
  19. Anything H2O express
  20. I've gotten lucky and done it on accident a couple times But not with any consistency
