What's the difference?
I think the limited gets an sv boost spool too.

Why are you obsessed about Lews reels? It's not even the old could ones either. Weird. You show up in every thread, say things that are factually incorrect, make some sort of reference to Lews reels and leave.

Do you have to buy a dedicated swimbait rod even for smaller (1-2.5 oz) baits?
I'm a believer in a H or H+ utility rod for baits in this range. It let's you explore swimbaits with baits that arguably get bit more often than a big glide as a gateway into big baits. Something that has enough utility to do throw other heavy baits like big ploppers, big frogs, wakes, big cranks, umbrella rigs and whatever else you can cook up. They either fall into big treble mod fast rod or big single hook type fast action rods.

Tackle Warehouse communication issues?
Somebody has to pay full retail for reels and rods then wait 2 weeks for them to show up. TW exists to be the lowest common denominator. If you know what you are doing you should feel bad buying from them. I know I do. No, I will not elaborate.

Excellent condition. You should have no problem finding a buyer.

Bass Pro Shops XPS Lazer Eye The Egg
These are good too. Throw them over shallow grass. The bill deflects off clumps of grass without catching on it. There are others with this same bill shape but these are poorly made adaptation of their deep diver mold to create an L-bill crank and blow out easily on the retrieve. This also means that if you slow down a bit the bait will hunt and search like crazy without blowing out. That veering off of center this bait does triggers fish to strike. These are some serious fish catchers but you have to know what you are working with. They are hard to keep deep because they are always trying to blow out but that erratic action is what makes them special. A moderate to slow retrieve on a 6 gear ratio is what is needed.

Transporting Rods
I forgot about the bass raider. I don't even like putting my 8 foot pond prowler in the bed of my F150. That thing is heavy but I do it.

Transporting Rods
Perhaps reconsider the need for a pickup. A car with a roof rack will allow you to car top and have plenty of length inside for gear.

What is Nylon Line?
It's mono. Flouro is mono to really confuse things. Monofilament lines are the extruded plastic lines. Basically non braided lines that are a singular polymer/polymer blend in a uniform filament. Aka monofilament fishing lines. 100% flourocarbon monofilament lines are made from fluorocarbon. Nylon monofilament fishing lines are made from nylon. Expect a Sunline nylon monofilament line to be a good quality "mono" line.

Kistler Chromium Reel
TT also had info on a 5.8 ounce version. If its not canned then we should see a chromium bfs too at some point in the near future. Kister sells the spool on their site already so you could make your own. http://www.tackletour.com/previewicast22kistlerrods.html

Kistler Chromium Reel
I see now. There are 2 of these reels a 5.8 ounce bfs with the shallow ported aluminum shaft spool and a heavier deep spool one with a brass main gear. For the non bfs reel the 7.3 ounce weight makes sense. A chromium and chromium bfs. Maybe not? My link earlier had info on a 5.8 ounce reel with "whiffle shallow spool" for "spring 2023" that no longer links to that reel. They either abandoned that one or its still in the works.

Kistler Chromium Reel
Must be wrong on their site. Both of the other reels on the same platform with heavier knobs and spools come in at 6.5 to 6.3. This $300 top model is not going to weigh 7.3 oz with eva knobs, carbon handle and an aluminum spool shaft shallow ported finesse spool.

Using a paddle board for bass fishing
I watched a bass pro video about using a stand up paddle board to fish for bass. It was 30 min of him falling off it.

Kistler Chromium Reel
The new one is 5.8. I'm guessing this one will be the flagship of the line around the $300 price point. https://kistlerrods.com/pages/concept-chromium-reel

Kistler Chromium Reel
The same platform is used on a few other reels like the savage gear reels. I'm pretty sure an older version of this platform is used on the zpi alcance and bass pro bionic. Seem like solid reels. This new one must have an aluminum main gear or something to get it down with 5.8. I don't think the carbon handle and eva knobs alone are going to get it to 5.8 ounces.

How do you rig a Yamamoto Hula grub?
Years ago I was introduced to a way to fish these I have not heard of since. It worked incredibly well and I used to do it but stopped. I stopped because I stopped going down to Tablerock where I learned the technique and my home waters are all silt bottom. Anyway, you rig up one of these grubs on a chompers head and slow roll it on hard bottom with a moderate rod and mono or today, flouro line. The bait clanks around on the rocks zig zaging and hunting. It will hit a rock and stop then load up the rod and line as you keep winding then shoot off and fall down like a crayfish. You dont jig it. You don't pause it. You dont use braid and get overloaded with feedback. You crank and roll that bait on the bottom and stick them when you feel a fish. Weird technique I learned about 20 years ago from a guy staying at the same resort as us at the time. He took my on his boat and made me a believer. I used it on other trips with great success. In my home waters all I get is leaf litter and that bottom slime. I do want to use a free rig on these baits some day. I'm not sold on the free rig vs a texas rig with my normal plastics but I think the skirt of a hulla grub can slow the fall and get better weight and bait separation to make the free rig more useful to me.

So, my friend tossed me a Berkley Gilly...
Side of the mouth or roof. Use a twist lock hook and make sure the hook point does not pass through the thin part of the body. I like the 110 size the best slow rolled under the surface with no additional weight. It will run upright or semi upright like an injured baitfish while having an s swim motion sort of like a gantrel. It will turn on its side and fall and with the a thin wire hook you can get a sprial fall. Super productive bait for shallow bass. Small fish grab the tail and run off it it. Big females lightly tap it and then pick it up on the fall. Definitely let it drop if you feel a few small taps while swimming. This was my go to bait this spring and early summer. It just works.

Have you noticed the 5” Bull Shad is almost impossible to keep down in the water column?
Try it is spring. Water temps where you are at is making the water very dense and your bait super buoyant.

Was there not a tool in the box to unthread the knob caps?

JDM style Rod?
JDM stuff just has more stylized appearance. Both of these rods use the same blanks but the conquest is built to appeal to US anglers and has a more traditional appearance.

Nako Formula D or SHIMANO SLX MGL
That dream fishing tackle reel for sure. I might have to get one that that price. It has a pretty good spool and if you like regular magnetic reels then this one looks legit. I'd be all over one for a plastics reel.

Phenix Feather L vs ML ?
Use a sweeping hookset and keep the rod loaded pulling the fish to you by pumping the rod. The slack, jerk, freeze and reel hooksets are never something I liked.

Chronarch or Metanium MGL?
I would go for the met. Its newer and made from magnesium alloy instead of a carbon composite. Carbon plastics are fine but are the engineered wood equivalent of fiber board.
