OK, I have counted to ten. . .
Why not get your picture, take the measurements, get the replica mount if you want one, and if you can't afford it today, save up some money to get it done. It's not like mounting the real fish comes cheap either, if you have the money to mount the real thing, then you can afford the replica.

Economic Recovery
happy new year. I'm not rushing for the recovery, if I lose my job now, I better be able to reap the fishing benefits of job loss when ice is out!

Newer Pflueger baitcasters
Has anyone tried the new president baitcaster by pflueger, or the patriarch? How do they compare to other high priced reels like the revo series or shimano?

Eastern fishing Expo in Worcester...
Did anyone come out of last years show with any good deals? I know some of the merchants are willing to negotiate, didn't know if anyone had some luck with that in the past? By the way, can't wait to get out of this snow and spend a few hours checking out fishing gear!

Need help with Maine fishing trips for this spring/summer.
Some of my favorites are Umbagog, Kezar, Belgrade lakes, and the Androscoggin River, but Maine is a bigggg state, and I'm hoping you guys have some advice on regions, or specific lakes to try a weekend or longer trip to it would be appreciated. Has anyone had much luck at Great Pond in Maine? I was thinking of booking something there for ice fishing, and post spawn. I've heard 25-30 lb pike come out of there, along with a good number of 2-4lb smallies.

Pointers or Xraps?
I didn't find anything in a search for a comparison of these two jerk baits. Which is preferred and why? Do the live pointers out fish the solid body pointers? I know the live's have durability issues.

Musky sized spinnerbaits for Largemouth?
I bought a 1oz spinnerbait from SOB lures, and have caught some nice fish on it. Surprisingly, I've caught smaller fish (1.5lbers) on these big lures as well, sometimes they've gone after the big boy lures.

Best spinning tackle lures for trout
I don't fly fish, but enjoy catching trout in New England's rivers, and lakes. I typically catch trout on inline spinners like panther martins or rooster tails, and blue fox minnow spins. I've also had a bit of luck with plain old silver spoons. My trout fishing knowledge is very limited though, and I really enjoy catching these beauties! Look forward to hearing what you guys look for, and what spinnings lures/baits you use, thanks.

X Rap
Jake, have you found much difference between the pointer and the live pointers? I didn't see anything comparing the two in a search for pointers and xraps?
-
X Rap
Xrap's are a great jerk bait, with many good colors to chose from. Smallies can't stay away.

Do crank baits work equally as well for smallies as lmb's?

Ice Fishing Gear
Ever use the buckshot dropper spoon from Northland? That thing crushes panfish, and I've caught a number of pike on it as well, with some bass sprinkled in.

Glasses?
I ran with the Oakley Flak Jackets and love them! Oakley has the best polarized lenses out there. My bro in law has the half jacket with the blue fishing lenses and can see great under water in all conditions, I have the dark gray lenses which also see underwater great. Dark gray is much better for high light and glare conditions, where the light blue work best for lower light, both work well in all conditions though. I looked for a while at a number of different brands, and I'm pumped I got the Oakley's, can't go wrong with these!

Ice Fishing Gear
Anyone have suggestions, or luck with different ice fishing lures, or jig pole setups? I was thinking of trying the Frabill Bro Series MH combo for pike fishing in Maine, does anyone have a review on this combo?

Crankin Techniques
I haven't used crank baits very often, and was wondering the best way to fish these baits, what time of year, how to work them, etc. I bought a number of different depths from 2 feet up to 16, some lipless as well, what conditions determine when to run deep, and when to go shallow, obviously summer the bass hide deeper. Do you target drop offs or a shelf in the lake to run along? Thaks guys!
