  1. Great to hear!. But its more down and a little bit over a ways Can't wait to meet everyone.
  2. I wouldn't even touch the water. Find something more suitable.... It will be more enjoyable.
  3. Once again Words of wisdom Chris, You da man!
  4. My favorite is out fishing with friends and bringing 3-4 rods and usually my big plano bag and a medium bag. They always say when walking down the dock, "oh look here comes BPS!" By the end of the day they are all rummaging through the bags. It just makes me chuckle. lol
  5. Here is a good start. There are lots of very good articles in the articles section http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/Choosing_Colors_selection.html http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/seasonal_lure_selection.html http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/color_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Rat-L-Traps.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/one-lure.html
  6. So just got off the phone with the local F&G officer and he gave me a little more info. There have been a couple offenses over the past two years and the fish have been "Good Sized Fish". I didn't know that this was happening and I will definetely be keeping my eye out. What a shame!
  7. Just got off the phone with Fish and Game and Bowfishing is only legal bullfrog and unprotected non-game fish. Smallmouth is Illegal. Have a call into the conservation officer to get more info on the story. Will keep you posted.
  8. I don't know... Will repost after research... I don't think bowfishing is legal unless carp and only during certain dates... Will look
  9. Nice chunks... Looks like the great start to a new year!
  10. Talked with one of the local outfitters yesterday about the spring thaw coming up. Last year three huge smallmouths were killed by bow fishing the beds, Illegal in my state unless you have certification, 7.3, 7.2, and 6.3 lbs. I was absolutely disgusted. At least he was caught by fish and game.
  11. Welcome back! It is kind of weird seeing post-spawn reports coming in, especially when my water is still 38 degrees and ice on most of the bays.
  12. Great to see what is possible for the Road Trip. Now I really have a bad case of cabin fever
  13. I would start by hitting points and creeks. Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, spooks, buzzbaits, sticks, lizards and jigs are my spring arsenal. Once the water warms into the mid 50's I would be fishing shallow big baits. Spring fish can't resist a 11" worm. If your talking about a big greenback
  14. Its fun finding a pattern when nothing is working... Good work!
  15. Great way to start the year!
  16. nice looking fish!
  17. There are lots of places to fish with lily pads around here. Peacock fishing the Amazon is my biggest dream!
  18. Anyone have any fishing reports of what the weather and fishing has been like in or around Kentucky Lake. I know weather can change drastically in a day but I have really bad cabin fever but hearing about the fishing where im gonna be in three weeks helps a lot ;D
  19. Flyfishing for Steelehead is mostly what I do, on the fly, but this year I am gonna try for some smallie action. If you are fishing a larger river I would definetly go with a spey rod. A 14' 9/10 weight spey can be used for an all around fishing experience. You can catch a 15lb steelhead or a 2-3lb smallie for sure. I'm gonna try for some pike also this year I would stick to poppers, crayfish patterns, sneaky petes and leeches.
  20. I agree with everything. He only kicked himself in the nuts. It really dissapoints me hearing about big fish like this being kept when a replica could be done. He lost his chances on a real record and the enjoyment of possibly catching it again or someone else. Bummer
  21. I own a full service Advertising Studio, one man show it gets busy at times 60+ hrs a week but I get to make my own vacations for fishing hehe. Printing, Video Production, Graphic Design, Web Design, Vinyl Graphics and Photography. www.BlissAd.com
