Casting Rod vs Spinning Rod Specific Techniques
In no way or form it can be said.

Best reel under $200
I feel you. These are the worst ones. One here even denied the infamous ''metanium buzz'' defect, based only on his reel, wich apparently was enough evidence. I love reels made by Banax, It can match Daiwa and Shimano quality, or even surprass them, if the OEM contractor is willing to pay for top notch quality. E.g: Okuma Komodo. Love Doyo reels and see them as being way better than Shimano usual top-mid-range reels.

Curado 70 MGL Geary On Retrieve
Why not answer my question? Is this because you don't like de answer? Anecdotal evidence = videos, pictures, reports and Shimano exchanging gear free of charge. Seems legit...

Curado 70 MGL Geary On Retrieve
Actually not, since the problem was fixed since 2019. Are you denying the infamous metanium buzz? Really?

Daiwa Coastal TW80
I would avoid double-supported pinion gear, if not, by bushing, in saltwater reels. Very susceptible region to salt accumulation. No SV reel is oriented to long casting, but to be a Jack-of-all-trades over lure weights.

Curado 70 MGL Geary On Retrieve
Doyo and Daiwa use micromodule-like gearing and have no chronic issues.

Yet, the facts speak from themselves. The metanium buzz is the best example, showing construction and quality control downgrade. And I'm just using baitcasting reels, in spinning gear the process is even more evident.

BFS rod/reel help
Major Craft Benkei, for a true BFS rod and not these miss rated M power rods, from brands trying to surf in the BFS trend.
-
Best reel under $200
The Alphas CT SV. Can be found under your price range.
-
Curado 70 MGL Geary On Retrieve
You cant compare the acclaimed E series to these modern reels, with downgraded quality overall.

Finally had a lot of time behind the 1600C IAR, what a fantastic little reel!
My dream reel. Precisely, the 1501cc.

Aftermarket spool question
There is no noticeable difference in quality between aftermarket spools, just branding and aesthetics. I use several ones from Billings and Ray's Studio.

Graphite Rods Difference
Tonnage isn't marketing. It's a measure of carbon fiber density in a mesh/tissue. Higher the density, higher the stiffness and tonnage rate. IM is another tonnage measure, not standardized, yet there is some equivalence between IM rate and tonnage. 24ton - IM6 30ton - IM7 36ton - IM8 (muscle carbon) 40ton - IM10 (not standardized) Nowdays I only think of rods using tonnage.

Steez sv TW or Steez A to pair with megabass super destroyer
The steez A is more of a medium-heavy duty low profile reel.
-
New to Daiwa baitcaster
Alphas CT SV, a very versatile reels, vasting from 3-10g, with the original sv spool. For heavier lures, Tatula and the Zillion series.

Rod for BFS reel
Shimano mid-high end rods lack refinement. Bass BFS rods theoretically should be fast action UL. Most rods can deal with a BFS reel, the extreme low spool inertia makes the reel take some of the rod's job in casting. That's not a good criterion. I have a Shimano Compre rod rated as a 15lb rod. And I use it to fish Tarpons with live bait, because the rod is grossly underrated. It's at least a 20lb rod. What Shimano gain in underrating their rods? Less problems over breaking. Less warranty issues. Cheaper IM6-IM7/24-30ton blanks priced as IM8/36ton ones.
-
Rod for BFS reel
Because Shimano grossly underrates it's rods power. Shimano ''BFS'' rods are a joke, MM rods trying to pry on BFS hype.
-
Rod for BFS reel
I'm seeing the finesse thing is lacking here, since a ML/MM rod is in no way or form, a finesse one. BFS means more than lure weight, it involves several strategies over fishing with light presentations, either in a power fishing or pure finesse manner. Seems like several people want to claim do baitfinesse, without the cons of fishing with really UL gear.
-
Rod for BFS reel
So, now any rod capable of casting lighter lures, with parabolic action, can be called BFS? Really?
-
Rod for BFS reel
Am I wrong, or I just read about a medium-medium BFS rod?
-
Rod for BFS reel
No medium-power rod is adequate for BFS. Go for UL/L rods, with casting up to 7g, for faster action rods, and up to 10g, for slower ones.

Lew's and Doyo
By the way the ACB braking is proprietary of Doyo, used by a brazilian OEM brand, called Marine sports, in their Lubina, Liger and Venator reels. The ACB with ceramic blocks is proprietary of Abu Garcia.
-
Lew's and Doyo
Indeed. Do you like the ACB system? The IVCB-II by Abu Garcia, with ceramic blocks is the best centrifugal braking system I ever used, even more so with a polished braking plate.
-
Daiwa Tatula 100
Very solid performer, even more so with a shallow spool, who turns it into a full-fledged longcasting reel.
-
Lew's and Doyo
I suspect this paramag thing is more boastfull claim than anything else. All magnetic braking systems are PARAMAGnetice, because it's the nature of aluminum. It becomes magnetic when spinning, under a magnetic field.
