Daiwa BG 2500
Nice!

Calcutta Conquest Confusion
I don't like mu conquest BFS. But these 101 looks like built like the older cq series. the 100 size is ideal for big bait fishing and M/MH one.

Daiwa BG 2500
It's on my M/H duty rod. Good value for money.

Dc reels
I would love to see how the other reel was set-up, since it wouldn't be the first time I saw a reel being intentionally misconfigured, to show how ''good'' is the DC system. DC for light lures? The Cardiff 50s DC was took of market after a short time.

Dc reels
Usage in windy conditions is a very subjective matter. A centrifugal brake system can be tightened to be used in more windy conditions. A system based on magnetic braking / counter-emf shoud be flexible, over lure weights, what DC system isn't in any way or form. DBS, Linear mag and centrifugal brakes still more eficient than any DC-based system. Daiwa Magforce showed evolution in every single incarnation. How much time took to DC become zero-adjustable?

Braid to Leader?
Flouro for cranks, minnow and jerkbaits, anything shallow/deep swimming. For topwater lures, nylon.

you all ever talk about Quantum reels?
This is just... Pathetic?

Tatula vs stradic
I always tend for the worm-gear based spinning reel. Yet Daiwa's transverse cam system has the same line-laying capabilities and with improved robustness.

you all ever talk about Quantum reels?
Really? People brought gear because of KVD signature thing?

Dc reels
DC - worse than linear mag and centrifugal braking. But Shimano needed something to put against the versatile Daiwa Magforce. Just makes the reel and spool overall heavier. Yet I give some credit to it's most recent incarnations, since they are ''zero-adjustable''.

Daiwa Rod broke. Warranty?
Indeed.

you all ever talk about Quantum reels?
I'm really impressed how the drag washers performed flawlessly.

you all ever talk about Quantum reels?
They are made by Banax as for now. Very decent reels. My Icon PT landed a 110-pounder Araipama in this last easter.

Let’s talk other JDM Daiwa reels…
I have the Millionaire CT SV. I'm a old Conquest 51 series fanboy, deeply disappointed with the newer ones like the Conquest BFS (how someone call this reel a workhorse???). The Millionaire CT SV has a astonishingky refined built, a real workhorse, one step above my beloved CQs51. Concerning gearing, it's the acclaimed Alphas CT SV in a round profile Body, and a all-around finesse and M/L - M/H capable reel. With a shallow spool, easily found in the market, it becomes a full-fledge BFS reel. The Mag Z dial has less steps than the Alphas CT SV. The reel superbly buttery, showing that a decent CNC machining and brass alloys is better than tiny micromodule gearing, in this matter.

Tatula Elite vs Curado MGL 150
The standard Tatula elite is a all-round longcaster, one of the best in daiwa portfolio. As always, its build is stronger, higher quality than any modern curado. Maybe gearer, but way more reliable.

I hate spinning gear
I came from a surfcasting background, using spinning reels all the time. But migrated fully to baitcasting and can't bear using them, because of the subpar accuracy and control. Of course, there are those who boast about having baitcasting-level accuracy, with them. Usually just empty bragging.

My Baitcaster reel's drag has stopped working, I know why, but I don't know how to fix it
I never saw 4x braided slipping in the spool of bait casters. Take the line off, it will allow you to test both the line slipping and drag discs problems.
-
Best spinning reels under $150?
Ryobi Zauber in all incarnations.
-
What is your all time sleeper baitcaster?
My cheap Lurestar C9 Air, who landed pretty decent fishes and is smooth as hell, after 2 years of intense use. In a morey pricey range, Alphas CT SV >>>> Any Steez.
-
Dobyns Maverick Reel
Banax. The same one making Quantum reels.
-
So what the heck is "infinity drive?"
It so Shimano to make a boastful name to these kind of thing. Shimano trying to save money and boast about it as innovation? Never! LOL! It's just so Shimanoish. Doyo owning Shimano again? Nothing new in the front. Ryobi Zauber.

Micro Guides on baitcasting rods.
I like them for use in a fishing technique, a vertical jigging style, brazilians dubbed as pindoco, and for BFS fishing. Pindoco:
-
Do you have an all time favorite fishing reel?
Calcutta Conquest 51 and the Daiwa Millionaire, side by side.
-
Backing on BFS reel?
Backing? A BFS spool usualy gets no more than 80m of 8lb braid.

Aftermarket spool question
Billings, Ray's studio and Momo Studio/AMO have very good spools too.
