New Bass Fishing Lake/Pond Project
He makes everything look so effortless, and the depth of everything he does for content is to the max. Most people I've talked with including a best buddy who owned an aquarium business says Bass are incredibly difficult to keep in aquariums. He's got a beautiful family, beautiful rural property, a DD Bass factory, a tractor I'm sure.......he's won at life! You're right though, with all of that he remains incredibly humble unlike some of the other YT channels I've followed as they've gotten bigger.

Jordan Lee Returning to BASS
To me it's the youth that will be the final death nail in MLF's coffin. B.A.S.S. has a strangle hold on the future of the sport right now with folks like last year's rookie class, along with the incoming rookie class. MLF built a business around poached long time big named pros, and even if they all stay, over time attrition will end the league as long as the brightest and most talented young anglers keep funneling into the B.A.S.S. pipeline. I mean this year's Elite series product is one HECK of a product. I couldn't be any more excited than I am, on the other hand I don't even know where BPT will be fishing this year. Wheeler will dominate half the events, and now they don't even have KVD. Very unexciting product for the viewer. There isn't any new life being pumped into that organization, and the end product reflects as much.

New Bass Fishing Lake/Pond Project
Amen Katie, there is nothing in this world I'd rather do than build a small Bass fishing lake. I'm greedy, I want a 500acre lake built from scratch....gonna need Musk money 🤣

New Bass Fishing Lake/Pond Project
I've been recommending BamaBass since I joined here, it's the single best YT channel out there imho. Think I told OP to check the channel out in his first thread. The dude has built a true dream, a testament to mankind's ability to shape a small piece of nature into his will. And yes, it costs a small fortune to create what he's created. It also cost a small fortune to build any 5acre pond specifically made to grow DD sized Bass. ETA: He started out just catching fat Bass in Alabama, and as his channel grew he doubled down in it by investing his adsense revenue into this project. By doing so he ended up recruiting a massive audience that for the most part would have never subscribed to fishing content alone. He's also brilliant at understanding how to use YT and other influencers/creators to grow his/their brand. The new pond he just built with Aquascape is a great example of this. He likely paid a fraction of the cost for that new project because he hosted an aquascape workshop and formatted the project so that both his channel and two other channels got big views from it as well.

5"-8" Of Snow Tomorrow
Those days after a big cold snap make for some epic fishing, whenever that weather starts to warm up I suspect it will be worth the wait. The end of the month should be on fire down here in the South, I was looking at last year's weather here and it was significantly warmer than it's been this year. While we had a freak 3 day freeze last year, the overall temps and warming trends were much better last year.

Jordan Lee Returning to BASS
I couldn't imagine the stress associated with leaving the MLF and then having to run the gauntlet that is the EQ Opens schedule. Huge props to those dudes who realized the sinking ship they were on and had the tamales to step into the Opens.

5"-8" Of Snow Tomorrow
12-18" of snow is hardcore, that's gonna shut down the area for days

5"-8" Of Snow Tomorrow
93 was so epic down here in the South.....we had over 20" of snow, the city called out for those with 4x4s to volunteer, and my dad stepped up. Still remember riding with my dad to pick up an elderly and then pregnant lady, such a great memory. Pretty awesome seeing snow down here even though I hate the stuff. ETA: It might snow here in a few hours, hoping it doesn't. We've had enough precipitation over the last week, lake needs the clarity.

He's an exceptional angler......when I watch him fish everything is so squared away. Look forward to rooting for him this year in the EQs.

Road To The Superbowl 2024
Never said they should get rid of him, but the game was over well before they scored close to 50pts. You can't throw a pick 6, and another one that was within their own 20 in the first half and expect to win. The whole team took the second half off, but the offense being shut out until the last second of the first half did them in, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Let's go @Team9nine! Awesome stuff, and I learn more in a week during the winter than months in the Spring and Summer.......I just flat out suck in the Fall 😆 This is the most concise and perfect advice I've seen in relation to winter Bassin. Word for word everything is spot on.

Road To The Superbowl 2024
It's easy to blame the coach, as it is to blame the QB, and in this case Dak really lost this game for the Cowboys. Even the balls that didn't get intercepted were awful, the importance of an accurate QB can be seen with a blue-collar guy like Purdy and Niners. Big arm, big legs look good, but timely accurate passing seems to win the big ballgames imho.

I don't get the Free Rig...
I didn't get the deal until I kept watching Milliken slay on it, so I tried it for the first time at the beginning of August '23. Proceeded to have my best single month of 5lb+ fish ever, 18 fish, all caught on Free Rigged big worms and lizards. If your hook and weight are hanging up together, you don't have the correct Free Rig weight. It's a cross b/t a C-Rig and T-Rig, it's a very nuanced bait to the human eye, however on pressured fish especially, it's honestly a game changer. I won't be throwing the T-Rig again except in the spring when I peg them. A wobble head doesn't look very different from a jig head, but the freedom of movement, no matter how perceptible that movement is to us translates bigly to fish.

Awesome Spots! That last one is why N.Cal produces the WR fish. They just get built differently. It's been a long time since I caught a 5lb Spot, grew up catching dozens......having caught a 5lb SM, Spot, and LRGM, the Spot is just that much of a stronger, harder fighting fish imho. Caught this nice Spot on Thurs., weather just wrecked the fishing but it was very much expected. Every day that passes now the lake clarity should return, but we're heading into the coldest 4-5day stretch of the whole year.

Nick Saban is retiring
Nick Saban's only losing record is at Jordan Hare.....he went 5-7. He should have lost two more games which makes it all the more amazing, he's on record saying he didn't perform well there.

Imho, that's a terrible hire. The guy doesn't know the SE, doesn't know the recruiting channels and highschool coaches down here. Auburn just made this mistake with Harsin

Yep those are them, loved the mylar insert, and eyes. I have no shame in admitting, if I can buy Japanese, I do for the most part. Stuff is usually always worth the extra money.

"Heavy Poop" and folks can't buy it fast enough 🤣 Fish Arrow makes some really cool stuff, they got some small swimbaits that I wanted when I recently bought those Drift Fry, but like the Drift Fry they are high dollar stuff.

Retro Bass Fishing
"Retro style is imitative or consciously derivative of lifestyles, trends, or art forms from history, including in music, modes, fashions, or attitudes. In popular culture, the "nostalgia cycle" is typically for the two decades that begin 20–30 years ago.[1]

Retro Bass Fishing
Technically retro means older than 25 years, if that's the accepted definition, than I have a number of rods, and a one TD-X reel that is still used weekly. That's mainly because I'm thrifty, in a perfect world I'd replace them all with Zillions and Alpha Angler/P5 Destroyer rods. I'm kind of the opposite on baits though, I really enjoy learning the latest and greatest technique/bait as long as it's a power fishing one. In Alabama, almost every Bass has seen just about every common lure under the sun. It seems to pay big time to stay ahead of the curve with bait selection. The evolution of Bass fishing tech is one of my favorite parts of the sport, so I'm not really a romantic when it comes to tackle.

Big Carp eat lures!
I wouldn't have had the heart to kill it, but they're not supposed to be in the lake. I've seen 2 other huge ones up shallow, tried to snag one like a kid lol.

Sunline Super FC Sniper Stretch
1000% Been using 20lb since last late winter for big baits, but really just 7-9" glides. Outside of abrasion resistance, it's about as good of fluoro as you can find for overall performance. ETA: Have used 16lb for a variety of stuff for even longer than the 20lb. Great stuff.

Bama rigs for restricted states
It's really ironic that the place has so many beautiful lakes when I hear you MN guys talk about some of the more bizarre rules. After the first season of allowing a full 5 hooked A-Rig, the fish would respond just like everywhere else that has them......negative unless they're fired up, in which we all know they'll hit dozens of different things at those rarer times. It's during those rare times that it's fun to use at least a 3 hook rig in order to try and get twofers and threefers, something every Basshead should have the right and pleasure of trying to get.
