How do I cast further with this setup?
Try roll casts. That helps me with any of my BFS im having issues.

The Falcon rods thread
Can't go wrong with either one. I ended up with the three of them and I've been catching tons of crappie and bass with them. I even caught a small channel with the Bucoo. They each have their own positives over each other. The Evo has an old school style full grip. The Bucoo looks more modern but is super sensitive. I was able to catch tons of dink crappie with it. While the Lowrider has a bit more power in it and a super soft reversed cork grip.

Most Durable Spinning Reel on Market?
Sorry for the delay in response. The FX ones were not as fancy as your reel. Here is what mine looked like

Inshore rod power rating question
It depends on the company and model of rod. I think Inshore rods just means the components are salt resistant. Some companies Inshore rods will have standard bass powers while some are a touch higher. For example: Tsunami carbon MH is rated up to 1 oz while a Penn Squadron M I have is rated up to 1 oz.

Sometimes a fishing rod, that shouldn’t, feels better?
That's how it is with 1 of my beater rods. I have an older gen 6 ft spinning M lightning rod shock with an avenger okuma reel. I learned how to drop shot with it. Though I have tried nicer rods for drop shot, it just feels like the action on the shock is just right for me. So I keep using it

Gen 5 Abu Revo premiere
You might be over filled for Abus brakes. All it takes is an 1/8th of an inch over spooled to cause over runs. I remember when I first got some MGXs I ruined 2 spools of sniper blowing up the spools all day. I have a Gen 5 SX which has the same brakes and it casts pretty well. I just made sure not to over fill the spool.

I really like the Evo lite I've been using recently. So when I saw my local Academy had some Falcon rods, the baitmonkey said "that one" and I picked up a Lowrider Lite spinning rod.

BFS Reel Recommendations
SLX BFS or Curado BfS would go well with the dobyns rod. Or the new Ark gravity reel. Just based on how you mentioned you're not going super light.

Most Durable Spinning Reel on Market?
Not the current Shimano FX but the previous ones with the quick fire plastic trigger thing. I think new ones are all over ebay still. The most bulletproof reel I've ever used. Sure it's not fancy and only $19 but I have some that are 15 years old and never been cleaned. I had some from the mid 90s that almost made it 20 years. One finally died when I went to flip the bail with the trigger and the bail and rotor just grenaded in my hand. They're like the AK47 of reels.

The Falcon rods thread
The Light and UL Bucoo spinning rods go for 54. Even the Lowriders are less than regular Lowrider price. They are $99.

The Falcon rods thread
I have a question about the lower end rods. Are the Evo and Bucoo spinning rod Light blanks different? I know the grips are. Evo is full length while the Bucoo is split grip. Evo is $59 while the Bucoo is $54. If they're different I would want to try them out. I have been really enjoying the Evo light rod. So while I was at an academy earlier I was digging through the falcons. Found a Bucoo and a lowrider Light spinning. I'll get them both to add to my Evo if they're different blanks.

Picked up one of the gen 5 revo SX SS reels. Trying light braid for regular casting like some of the inshore guys do with the Lews SP. So far it's really surprising. The reel feels a bit bigger than the 3rd and 4th gens. I haven't heard much about the 5th gens so I thought I'd give one a try.

Falcon EVO -CLEARANCE
Persistence paid off! I checked my local Walmart a few more times and finally looked up on the combo side of the rod section. In the middle of the combos were two Evos. They were $32 and not $20 but I got them anyways. (The reel was not included )

Why did Daiwa remove the Air Bail from the new LT spinning reels?
They may have changed the bail on the newer Legalis based reels but I think they added something to make you forget about it. When the new gen JDM Legalis came out, I watched I_fish's videos on it and I noticed a really distinct click when opening and closing the bail. I kind of liked it in the videos, but thought it would probably sound different in real life. But actually, it sounds just as good in real life. When I open and close the bail on my JDM legalis, it has such a satisfying click. My new gen Exceler also has the same click. I lucked out around my bday and was able to pick up an Exceler for the same price as the JDM Legalis from MidwayUSA. I would like the air bail on these reels, but I'm fine with just the upgraded click.

Daiwa Regal LT 2500
I have an older gen revros which is similar, different bearings in certain places. It's really nice. I probably caught 100s of crappie the first season is used it. I'm guessing you're getting the current gen. They did a nice upgrade for the current gen so I'm sure you'll like it. I have a new gen JDM Legalis and exceler and they're great. I think the big upgrade was a much lighter rotor.

How much does a higher end rod ‘help’?
For bottom contact, not much like the others say. But with reaction baits, I feel like it's a huge jump. When you go from a dead in your hand $80 composite rod to a nice 200 rod you can feel so many more bites. Not all fish hook themselves and stop you mid retrieve. Some come up, tap tap, swim with the bait, then swim off.

Seaguar Tatsu
I use the 4 lb on my bfs and light spinning. It's like slightly harder to manage Sniper but with a ton of abrasion resistance. The first time using it i didn't have to retie for 3 or 4 trips till I hooked a gar.

Falcon Cara BFS Rods
Thanks for the review. I just checked the falcon site and it says it's rated down to 1/16th. Do you think that's accurate??

Spinning rods for everything?
Hello, you can go all spinning tackle and do fine. I've been fishing my whole life and have gone through phases where I only use spinning tackle for years, or years only using casting. I'm proficient with both. My favorite beater rods have been spinning. I caught my top PBs with my beater rod. For close accurate casting, i flip the bail and hold the line with my off hand like fly fishing and do a underhanded cast. Its easier for me to let go of the line then it is to release it from my finger. I can cast further than I can pitching while still being accurate. To feather the cast I just make a C with my hand around the spool. Slow the line with my hand till I need to stop completely, then just grab the spool. Similar with a wild cast straight into a tree, just grab the spool to stop the spool. If you are going to be casting heavy weights and you want to avoid hurting your finger, you can try wrapping your finger with electrical tape. That's what I did when I was younger. Now I don't really need to, I just release it in a way it doesn't hurt. I'm not sure what I do, I just do it automatically.

Falcon EVO -CLEARANCE
Finally had a chance to check out my local Walmart to see if they had any of their evos ringing up on clearance. Unfortunately, this Walmart didn't have any, but they had the Evo Light spinning rod. So I had to pick one up.

Are you currently using any Temu rods or reels?
I picked up 2 reels for $12 each off temu.... for when I'm shuffling line around. They work great so far. Probably get a few more in case I want to store line till I'm ready to spool it.

Sufix Revolve
Thanks for the info, I'll research it more when I get a chance.

Sufix Revolve
I picked some up from bps the other day to try. I haven't spooled any reels with it yet. Besides for some spinning reels I'm going to try it out on a gen 5 revo SX SS. I heard supposedly that the shallow spools make it easier to use thinner braid. I saw some of the inshore guys using the Lews SP SS reels for speckled trout and redfish. So this is what I got the reel for.
