Their Congo craw has produced my biggest kayak bass (just shy of 7). I don’t like their prawn nor their other “creature” bait. I recently picked up some clout and bamboosa worms to try out. Really want to get my hands on the huge bodega, but can’t find them locally and my CC has been taken out of my wallet as of late 😂😂

Better you than me! With “naked” eyes, I squint as tightly as i can and pull the knot as close to my face as possible. My costas are prescription, but that prescription is toast now. Gotta get new lenses for them, but they’re stupid expensive. Since I’m retired, and I have VA insurance, I don’t carry normal vision insurance. Often times, it’s cheaper to buy a new pair vs just lenses. I usually pay for my normal (eyeglass) frames and lenses from an optical shop, and let the VA give me beater frames. I think this year, I’m going to try some polarized sunglasses from the VA.

Quick question - main drag washer. Bulge up or down? Meaning bulge toward frame or toward handle? Did a teardown of a bank beater reel the other day and wasn’t paying attention…

I’ve got a few as well and they are bulletproof for a $100 reel. Even more so when you get them on sale (which seems like you can always find them on sale). The LFS and the original SLX $100 reel always seem to find a way into my arsenal. I’ve got a few of each. I like them both equally.

Loosen, tighten, whatever? I am constantly checking my drag while fishing. Force of habit I guess. Don’t know why, I just do. That said, I don’t loosen my drag. Popped off a spinner bait once because I forgot to loosen the drag after a respool. Went to set the hook and almost fell over backwards…

I wear progressives. In 2 years, my “reading” prescription in my progressives went from +.25 to +2.00. Getting old sucks.

It was horrible. The only worse march I had in basic was a 15 miler out to the ranges. I actually fell asleep on that march and rolled down the hill.

Nah man - I have to wait until Oct to get it done. My wife is a Pilates instructor and she travels to different clubs across TN and AL as a travel instructor when clubs are short instructors. She has contracted with a 2 clubs in Chattanooga and that contract ends at the end of Sept. That combined with getting approvals from the VA!! Thank you for the thoughts however!!

Agreed. Same here. 40% on any BLS/Cabelas product and 15% on most everything else. 7% on reels, ammo, guns. Every so often, they run special sales where they’ll up the discount to 50%. One thing I’ve noticed regarding tackle selection. If the bass pro was a purpose built bass pro, their tackle selection is usually bigger and better. If they are a “repurposed” Cabela’s, their fishing section isn’t as good for some reason. How do you know? The purpose build BPS stores have a turnstile. Cabela’s ones don’t.

I use 50# braid almost exclusively. Exceptions are spinning rig (both running 10# braid to flouro leader). I love all the questions @Cael B! One thing to consider though is your questions are awfully vague. You’ll find that you will get all the information you seek and then some on BR. However, try to be a little more specific. Also, I guarantee you that someone on this board lives relatively close to you and would ALWAYS meet up with you to talk in person. I know I will/would.

I grabbed one the other day for my bfs setup. Figured I’d throw it a little this am. Got it out and tied it on. 2 observations… 1) this came with a split ring out of the box. All other sizes do not. I tied to the split ring 2) seemed to blow out some. With a slow retrieve, it ran straight, but the plop wasn’t nearly as noticeable Anyone else?
