Fished some pretty thick hydrilla this am on Guntersville. Managed to grab this guy (a touch over 2), and it felt like I hooked into a shark. Look at the pic of the hydrilla and you’ll understand why…

Thanks! Aside from a wacky/neko offering, I was unsure what else. And as silly as this sounds, trim from the “front end” correct? Not the tail (smaller) end… Also, I don’t know if anyone has ever seen the 6th sense bodega, but if not, the internet is deceiving. It’s bigger than a 6” magdraft. That thing is a beast!

As funny/weird as it sounds, I give platelets every 16 weeks. Something my dad has done for a very long time and about the only thing I admire about him. Anyway, aside from a ginger ale, some nutter butter cookies and a cool tshirt or hoodie depending on time of year, I also get a $40 Amazon gift card! I used one to buy a decent beginner friendly airbrush and I have been playing off and on for a half year or so… Buy an airbrush. Go to hobby lobby and get a bottle or two of paint and learn how to use your airbrush. It’ll save you much frustration, trust me.

Woke up this morning and wife said “I’ve got to go to Birmingham today. Do you want to drive me down there?” “Yep. Also had a TW order come in while I was at Marks, so it was a doubly good day! First up… I have not thrown bigger glides/swimbaits lately because I’m tired of carrying around my 7’10 on my kayak. So, I bought the Shimano SLX 7’3 MH to try out. Next, I needed some terminal and accessories. I swear I could spend more time looking at and admiring terminal than anything else. I have no idea why…anyway… Geecrack Neko Hack in S and L value packs. A spool of XXX Izorline for my swimbait setup Some scrounger heads BKK Titan Diver+ in 8/0 and 10/0 A few soft plastics are always in order around my house. I have more than I could ever use in mine and your lifetime, but I’m addicted to buying them. Also, to scratch the @Glenn fuzzy bait itch, I picked up some of those as well.. RI Sweet Beaver 420 in Sprayed Grass 4”Zako in Sprayed Grass Nikko 3.2” Craw in Aqua Moon 6th Sense Bamboosa 5.3 stick worm in two colors (something purple) A couple of Crush City Freeloaders. Gonna give those a go as a trailer again, just because. Geecrack Imo Kemushi and Cue Bomb 1.2” Lastly, I NEEDED some hard baits/wire baits. I bought 3 Mustad spinnerbaits last week at Sportsman’s warehouse. I didn’t know they made them. I like them, especially for $4 Vision 110 and 110+1 Jr in matcha head - these were in the 1/2 off bin at Marks today. I looked for a 110 +1 in matcha head as well, but couldn’t find one. Berkley swamp lord. Hope to get demolished in the am on it. Jackall blade bait. It was $5 in the 1/2 off bin. Ok, I’ll buy. Some vibrating jigs… I am trying the hags from TW I got a 3/8 jhammer in sprayed grass Weird bladed jig from Imakatau- called the Magulla moth chatter wing dragon. At first glance, it looks like a std bladed jig. But, it has 2 arms coming up that have screw lock on them for trailers. Apparently, some japanese guy got his umbrella rig tied in with his bladed jig and poof - idea born. Really excited to try that one out…

You could kayak and canoe all day with no fatigue, but one second of looking at @A-Jay ‘s post one day squatting told me I needed to just quit life.

I just bought some Geecrack cue bombs and imo kemushi’s to try out. Almost picked up some of those hideup Coike shrimp thingies… I figured I’d wait and see…

My cousin hit a big 8 pointer in his Chevy one evening. It was a low sedan (can’t remember the model, I think a citation). Deer slid up in the hood, all 4 legs broken, crashed through the windshield and snapped its neck. My cousin drove home with it still on the hood.

I’ve been trying to work on my airbrush skills on bank finds/kayak finds instead of paying money for lures to repaint and/or blanks (I do have blanks in many different items, just haven’t felt like I’m quite there yet). Anyway, here are some I found and painted this week. Still need eyes and clearcoat, but I think they look ok? Advice and criticism (constructive or otherwise) is also appreciated!!

I was in Chattanooga last weekend and they had them for $4.99/ea. I went back and bought 5 more yesterday. I bought more yesterday because I keep giving these away. I gave 2 more away yesterday to a young kid I umpire in baseball.

I figured I didn’t have anything better to do so I decided to clean my rods/reels and lube everything. So, now that everything is all apart, I figured why not spice things up a little and get my only friends to tell me how to fish my gear. I throw everything from 1/16 neko to 4oz glides. That said, I have those two covered. I’ve got a new SLX rod coming tomorrow to carry the load for the glides. I’m getting rid of my St Croix Mojo Bass because it’s just too long at 7’10 in my kayak and I find myself not taking it. I throw my 1/16 neko and the like on a daiwa arid-x spinning rod. So, here’s what I have. What would you pair and what techniques would you use? I know this is all subjective, but I’m relatively “new” to this, and the bait monkey and rod and reel capuchin and I are on speed dial. So, I buy and buy. Want to make sure I’m fishing “correctly”. Confidence bait is a 1/2 demolition hammer. Also have a Mach smash spinning combo that is 7’0 MF. I know I’m not the only one in here, but I normally run straight braid nearly 100% of the time. Suffix 832 is my go to, though I run seaguar tactix and Daiwa samurai j braid grande (8 strand) as well. I run 50lb braid for everything except spinning which is 20lb; about to go to suffix revolve for it though and go lighter on lb test.

That’s good to know. I’ve got some new flick shakes I want to try now. I am going to throw them on the Zappu inch wacky as well…

I use 5’s for the crush city pigstick. Don’t have a measurement on them, but that’s what works for me…I literally threw a worm and nail weight out of a size 7 once…

I got mine from Japan. My son went in June.

That said, what’s yalls trailer of choice on the grass piece? I had a spunk Shad on today. I’m not sold on that trailer for the grass piece. It’s about all I had on hand today…

I was gonna be that guy and have my son buy all 7 on the peg, but I only bought 4. I want some in 1/2oz too…
