  1. Is that the combat stick? Which model?
  2. I started tying my braid direct to my spool, no backer. I tie it on with an arbor knot, cinch the knot tight to the spool. To prevent slippage, I basically tie two half hitches in alternating directions and it’s rock solid.
  3. A zero drop guy, huh…you always run in a zero drop? I ran the marine corps marathon in Altras. I switched to Topos after that. Big roomy toe box like the altras, but a 3-5mm drop. It was better for me…
  4. I’m intrigued by the fuzzy nugget. Different than a dice bait I think…
  5. What shoes did they put you in? I’m a former runner. Last race was the marine corps marathon in 2019. Knees have given out since then. “Real running shoes” make such a difference.
  6. You forgot to post the address? My favorite way to eat sweet corn is what most people know of as “creamed corn”. However, in the south, it is often called fried corn and that’s what I grew up eating. I could eat my weight in fried corn and fried okra (real fried okra dusted in corn meal - not the breaded crap everyone thinks is fried okra). Put that and a tomato sandwich in front of me, and I’m back in Florence, MS in the country on my grandmothers porch with my cousins around…
  7. You bet. Happy to help. Yes, the elite system includes the k5 anchor. It’s a fluke style anchor, and where I fish, it seems to be a better idea.
  8. Here’s my setup. You’re looking aft. That’s the actual anchor wizard brand anchor. I am going to get the K5 by tightline anchors after this summer…
  9. Took me forever to figure it out too. I was like “I know I’m not this much of an idiot”. See pics. Squeeze fingers toward thumb.
  10. I’ve been running mine about 2 years now. No problems. I have mine mounted on the right hand side of my seat with the anchor deploying off the bow. I don’t use the chute, though I do own it. I don’t run it through an anchor trolley, though I do have one on my boat. I have the anchor wizard anchor and don’t like it. For me, it doesn’t hold me in place in deep water (15’+) with little current. I’m going to switch to the tightline K5 anchor after this summer.
  11. Should be soon. I actually saw them on. What’s new this week on TW I believe?
  12. This is the brush I use. I really like it. I have a few others as well, but I really like this one. The one that @dwtaylor linked above looks good for the .8 tip to be able to lay down fast coats… https://www.amazon.com/NEOECO-Self-Centring-Nozzle,0-2-Dual-Action-Replacement/dp/B0BW5M8KGX/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=334WP1ZUF7SBI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.x6YhqSg28g-iMmZcZEyP6JNFXHNUQwhIkRIsKKokJkntdjJ7kqBkVwlEw8edgvA3UNG4YGeSLSbRkE4jCu7kxL8kjGQrJZXuGDiDBQtIb-3C16wXrY-MYBZWHiabYXwz3nVkTyUqRMaSWLSx_DaparoFAnb4BtSUiGDQeGb1M6hv942KM6A8YJdVbufxS1yGwnNkoJOunT9gfA9s_zSFIg.e_OQv1Xdl4vHvIanRRcQhpRqepLCFXG_r3hJwkYFAQA&dib_tag=se&keywords=neoeco+airbrush&qid=1752610724&sprefix=neoeco%2Caps%2C87&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1
  13. It’s top to bottom in many places. That particular cove was top to bottom until about 10’ from the bank. It dropped pretty sharply there and the weeds didn’t make it all the way. Then, it dropped to about a 20’ depth and it’s just a soft bottom there. I don’t fish thick hydrilla often because I don’t know how to fish it. However, since I got the grass piece, I’m throwing it everywhere in the hydrilla…
  14. Of my current reels, it’s my Curado 150mgl. That’s the “best” reel I have. It’s my most used and my most dialed in. Ok, I’ve got two of those as well. Maybe one of them instead of the Curado
  15. I tried the Fg knot all sorts of ways. Sometimes, it’s just easier to buy a purpose made product. So I bought the one trick pony daichii Fg knot assist tool. It’s the bomb. Only good for one thing, but does exactly what it’s intended to do…
  16. Hmmm…odd…I was going to get some this week. I have .5PE on my bfs setup (not almight, but varivas). I have a 6lb flouro leader attached via an Fg knot. The first time I went to tie it, when I went to cinch my knot, I snapped the braid at the knot connection. The entire piece of flouro that was “inside” the knot was still intact. The failure was right where the knot ended. Upon further inspection, I realized that I actually nicked the braid when I went to trim the tag of the leader. That wouldn’t explain your break off mid “spool” though. You checked your guides already. Did you check for nicks on the edge of your spool? Did you check for obstructions/nicks in the line guide as it leaves the spool?
  17. Come on old man. I can probably keep you in business!! Well, I don’t think so because she went to the needlepoint store afterwards. If nobody knows, needlepoint is just a tad bit expensive.
  18. I once read that if you give a mouse a cookie…. I you have kids/grandkids, you know.
  19. Too much head knowledge. I ain’t got the room. Mine’s filled with useless crap. My kids have always called me the uncrowned jeopardy champion..
  20. For me it’s Shinedown. Love the band. Don’t know why. All the songs have the same sound, I get it. Lots of people hate them, but I do like them. Other than that, we pretty much have the same tastes in music. Classic rock, what us kids from the 80s call classic rock. 80s music is not classic rock. I’m talking 60s/70s. Pink Floyd, the doors, doobie brothers, led zep, lyn skyn (i never can spell them), Bowie, heck, even the Beatles. In my opinion, I grew up in the greatest musical era of all times…the 1980s. I was born in 74, so I know the 80s. I know hair bands, leather pants, makeup, screaming, loud amps, cigarette smoke everywhere, singing songs that would be considered CSAM now. Those were the days. Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, even heavy metal Christian rock band Stryper. I loved/love them all.
  21. You said svelt - what’s a TN boy using a big word like that. Us Alabamians don’t know what that means… 😂😂
  22. I’ve got him on Speed dial Katy…
  23. While technically not on sale, and honestly more expensive than expected, but I know I love my grass pieces from Japan. Thorne Bros tackle (no affiliation, just learned of them last night) has some 3/8 oz grass pieces in stock. Pricey at $28, but if I didn’t already own all the colors offered, I would’ve purchased. Had some 5/8 oz flex in stock yesterday and I didn’t pull the trigger like a dummy. https://www.thornebros.com/search?q=Bass+puzzle&type=product
  24. PSA - Thorne bros tackle has some 3/8 oz grass pieces in stock. $28/ea. Expensive, but if I didn’t have the same exact colors they were selling, I’d have probably bought some. Had 5/8 oz flex yesterday for $30 and were all sold out this morning. https://www.thornebros.com/search?q=Bass+puzzle&type=product
  25. I just looked at the comparison of the 150M, just announced (150 mgl with the mgl iii spool) and the slx 70a on the Shimano site. For $60 more here’s what you get: .2oz lighter (6.7 vs 6.9), “more” drag (13lb vs 12), larger spool capacity in the Curado, 1 more inch of ipt (29” vs 28) and 2 more bearings (6 vs 4). Now, this was just the quick comparison chart on Shimano’s site. YMMV
