  1. The Congo craw was responsible for my biggest last year..a hair shy of 7.
  2. You dang skippy… if it’s below 40 here in N Alabama, I probably just stay inside and watch YouTube and shop on TW. Oh, wait…I do that in other temp ranges as well…
  3. I bet Uline sells them new. That’ll give you a starting point…
  4. I figured since they were pulling them up on traps, I’d go try the same. Just stayed local to HSV instead of going to Guntersville. Anyway, I’m not a pro. I lost both traps I took with me in the same place within about 20 casts. I know the hazard is there, it’s a cable or something, but there’s a good laydown just past it that usually holds decent fish. You have about 20-30’ of retrieve before you better go tip up and hope you didn’t misjudge distance or you’re breaking off. It’s a really decent fishery, but sometimes I wish it would lose so much water I could get all my baits back! It’s got two traps and at least one bladed jig that I know of…😂😂
  5. Brian, you can do better. Academy sometimes has sales from $9.99 to $9.98. Seriously seen the sale tag and almost choked on my own spit.. Also, on a serious note, my academy had the duckett torch rod on clearance for $90 with an additional 50% off. I’ve heard good things about that being a decent $100 rod, so I’d bet it’s a steal at $45. YMMV…
  6. The pros were pulling them up on traps today. So, the weather was sunny, about 40, so why not go fish. Realized I’m not a pro. Lost both traps I threw. Went to academy to replace and all their clearance is an additional 50% off. I bought one baby bull rat for like $6. I almost bought a hatchet. Why? Because it’s a hatchet and it was on clearance with an additional 50% off. Next stupid question please?
  7. The reason you’ve been watching their fishing section dwindle over the last decade is because of people like you and me that can’t seem to keep our wallets in our pockets…😂😂
  8. I didn’t look at many things, but one example is a Gan Craft Magnum 230sf. On Tacklebros, it’s $115 ish. On digitaka, it’s $51ish. Now, the difference I’ve seen is availability at digitaka/jls. But, when available, it’s usually a great buy. One thing of note is I’ve been looking at a tatula 200. I can get the jdm version (if there even is one) for $195 (digitak + fees) or the us version for $199 (pretty much any us seller).
  9. It’s 26° here right now and not going to get much warmer all day. It’s cloudy and ugly. I’m supposed to call 2 baseball games tonight, but our cutoff is generally 40° to start. It’s not supposed to get over 36° today.
  10. All the creeks are clear here now. Hasn’t gotten over 40° yet, but…
  11. Tatsu roughly translates to dragon in Japanese. I’ll stick with Tatsu. Enough said.
  12. Go buy a $5 zebco bullet reel and trade that in. Little known fact from the staff is that they buy those reels in bulk around the spring classic time and tell people to buy them to use as a trade in. You don’t have to trade in anything nice either. Go buy a beat up rod/reel from a pawn shop and trade that in. It’s nothing more than marketing to get you in the store. They are not losing money doing this trade, so…
  13. Right now it’s a DRT K9. I’ve been looking for a 9” slammer, but I haven’t found one I like. I peruse SU most days looking for a deal…
  14. Every year, the state of Alabama posts a list of fish safe to eat from its waterways. Needless to say, I’m a BIG catch and release guy from those reports…
  15. I know it’s boring, but it’s part of my life. It’s who I am. I don’t know if you heard, but I reeled in over a thousand…
  16. That’s good. Real easy to classify if you know what it is. Also, real easy to have it dangling as an “incomplete classification” if you don’t know. Since they ship to the US all the time, I’d imagine it was an easy oversight, box not checked, something. I’m glad to know that it’s FedEx as well…I perused their website pretty hard last night…
  17. Took a page from both Marling baits and engineered angler lures and cobbled together this new uv curing chamber with lure turner. The motor was like $16 for 2 and the light was like $45. It’s a 356nm wavelength light which is supposed to be better for “thicker” coats. The 395-405nm is better for thin coats. The 365 is also about twice the price. The 395-405 will cure fine, but it just takes longer. I’m 3d printing an enclosure to hold the “electronics” now (really just the wiring of the switches to the motor, lamp and power supply.
  18. I’ve got all kinds of BKK hooks. I would’ve sold you 3 for that price…
  19. Living in the middle of nowhere has its advantages most of the time..:except when you want a new box that only cost $4 😂😂
  20. I’m out. My wife’s schedule in Chattanooga changed and we’re only there today and tomorrow. Also talked with @IYAOYAS and he’s out too…We will get nothing weather wise and it’ll be a hoot
  21. “Magically” - that’s funny… Been meaning to ask, where in C MS? I grew up in Florence
  22. As of now, I’m still in…
  23. Nice! I almost ordered that reel but decided on a zillion instead. I’m not mad.
  24. Yeah, I saw that. Wife is debating on whether or not we’re going to Chattanooga on Thursday still…
