  1. When I grow up, I wanna be like you.
  2. Thanks! I’m trying to get my coastie buddy out on the west coast to try and get me one that they may be retiring…
  3. A-Jay - are those MIT or HIT mustangs?
  4. Because I live in a neighborhood where our HOA doesn’t allow anything other than a vehicle to be parked in your driveway over 48 hrs. My back yard isn’t conducive to backing a trailer into it to be behind the fence. I can’t put an 18’ Nitro in the back of my truck either.
  5. Umpiring HS Baseball Woodworking
  6. Yeah, that’d be me 😂😂
  7. Well, I went with a zillion sv tw from digitaka. Really wanted to do a P5 Dark Sleeper as well, but honestly, by the time the surcharge for oversized item as well as the tariff “feeshare” from digitaka, it wouldn’t have been much cheaper than ordering one in the states. So, instead of a P5, I wound up grabing a Zodias 7’2 MH from TW. Merry Christmas is what the wife said. When the rod gets here Friday, I’m just going to put a ribbon on it and put it next to the tree. I told her I’d even wrap the free t shirt and sticker.
  8. KTP 25% off 2 qualifying items. Most fishing brands are not a qualifying item. However, Megabass is. Levante for $150…
  9. Here’s the pic that is “normal wear and tear” First pic - yeah, ok. Second pic - no way. That said, these were just replaced in June 24. The pair I replaced looked just like this.
  10. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the replacements will be prescription. Sick of switching back and forth. I guess the good out of it is I have my eye exam on Wednesday, so at least I’ll have an up to date script!!!
  11. Thanks Dwight. I agree. Luxxotica bought them in 2018 and it hasn’t been the same. Unfortunately, Luxxotica owns a ton of brands too… I’ll take a look at Smith’s. One thing I’m keen on is rubber nose pads on the bridge, not plastic. I sweat too much behind the plate to have plastic. I also have to have rubber on the arms.
  12. Long rant, I’m sorry… Let me begin by saying I’ve worn Costa’s for over 20 years now (I remember wearing them when I deployed to Iraq in ‘03). I’ve always recommended them to anyone based on warranty alone. Polarization while fishing was a plus and a reason to choose them initially, but the warranty is what sold me. I’ve executed the warranty on different models over the years for various reasons. Never had a problem one time. Fast forward to last year’s baseball season. I wear my costas all day, everyday while on the field, unless inclement weather or nighttime. On the bases, behind the plate mask, wherever I am. I noticed a scratch on the bridge of my nose one evening and realized that the “wire stiffener” (don’t know what else to call it) had poked through the rubber nose piece and it had scratched me. Did the warranty claim, took pics, got a new pair back within a week. All good. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I’m in Knoxville with the wife for work and I pick her up and she says “What’s that scratch on your nose?” I look and sure enough, another scratch. Look at my glasses and yep, the wire poked through the rubber again. Ok, send in the warranty request again. Get the response today that they aren’t covered because it’s normal wear and tear. The best they can do is offer me a 50% discount on a new pair. Ok, but I’m a vet and I’m on expert voice so I already get 50%. Oh, in that case, we’ll give you a 30% off voucher for your NEXT purchase. Note that you can’t use them together. To which my question was “why would I want a 30% off voucher when I already get 50%”? Sorry sir… All that to say, I’m done with Costa’s. I started wearing my their prescription glasses this year too dang it… Now gotta go find Glenn’s video on sunglasses…
  13. I get a pretty decent discount on both Dobyns and Phoenix, so I can grab a Dobyns anytime. ill look at the P5s on JLS as well…
  14. Kinda digging the Steez A II at roughly $300 US “pre tariff” from JLS.
  15. DM me if you need any help with anything.
  16. Day 4 or whatever it is in Tackle Warehouse is line. Tatsu is on sale.
  17. Impressive. Not one period in this entire post! 😂😂
  18. 6th sense crush 75x. You’re welcome.
  19. No Joke - spinning rods on sale at TW. I hate to admit that I had a GS casting rod once. It had an SLX (brand new - first outing) attached to it. It got hung on a tree branch and ripped out of my kayak. I wasn’t upset expect for the reel…
  20. Japanese Domestic Market from places like digitaka for example
  21. I know. I looked last night. $100 deposit…
  22. Let me start off by saying I don’t NEED anything. However, with the fat man coming in a couple of weeks, the wife was wondering what to buy me. Since I don’t need anything at all, I thought why not think about a NICE rod OR reel. I’d say the “nicest” rods I own are MB Orochi XX10 and the “nicest” reel I own is a Curado/Tatula SV TW150 (I think that’s the model number…). So, for S&G’s, what would you spend $500 on? This would be for a “general” use combination with existing rod/reel selection at home. Reel would be in the 7.x:1 range. Rod no longer than say 7’6 or 7’7. Nothing technique specific on either rod or reel. I seem to always have a bladed jig, a frog, a crankbait of some sort and a jig tied on. Those are usually staples for me. JDM reel is an option, but not a JDM rod. I don’t have to have it by Xmas, but would like y’all’s shopping thoughts…
  23. $100? Look for a used reel. Check here or other fishing websites. For new, Okuma is on sale at FishISA today (12/8). Hard to beat an SLX at $100. I’ve got a couple and a couple of the speed spool lfs. from Lews. I’ve had zero issues with either.
  24. Last time I applied U-40, I spilled it. I have a hole in my garage floor through which I can see a street in downtown Hong Kong. Seriously though, EVERYTHING it seems like is known to the state of California to cause cancer. Car wreck? It’s known to the state of California to cause cancer. Eviction? It’s know to the state of California to cause cancer. Im not trying to “downplay” anything, but as stated above, if I looked at every MSDS sheet for everything I have come into contact with in the last 50 yrs, I would be horrified. And, if I asked WebMD why I broke my toe, it would be “cancer”. All of that said, I haven’t used U-40. What I do use is tru oil from Birchwood Casey. It’s available locally at Cabela’s and is cheaper than U-40.
