Expensive baits that are "worth" the $$$
Everyone keeps saying this. I guess I just need to spend more time with it. I love throwing it, but have never hooked up on it.

Gosh - I gotta read the entire post. I looked and thought you paid )21 shipping for one package of do live beavers. I have that color and would’ve gladly sent them your way…then I saw the reel, and felt better about you…

Whiskies you always keep in your cabinet\bar.....
6 yrs sober now, but in the day, it was Blantons. I live about 45 mins from Lynchburg, TN and gentleman Jack or single barrel was always on my countertop. Bulliet Rye (sp?) was a daily whiskey for me that could get out of hand quickly because of how smooth it was.

Problems with the NFL in my humble opinion
As a football (and baseball) official, here’s my take. 1) remember, we have fractions of a second to make a call in live ball situations. 2) 12 men on the field. All you have to do is go back and watch Auburn vs Oklahoma. Sategna was “jogging” off the field like he was a 12th player. However, he stopped just shy of the sidelines and ran a go route and caught a touchdown pass. Per rule, that should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. 15yds from the previous spot, repeat the down. That’s why there is the 12 men on the field penalty. 3) international games: without international games, would we have seen arguably the greatest baseball player of our time in Ohtani? He is (IMO) the best player to have played the game as it has evolved into today. It’s hard to compare him to Ruth (for example) because the game has evolved so much in 100 yrs. He is by far the best player I have seen in my 51 years alive. 4) replay: replay sucks. Nobody likes it because of how we grew up playing the game(s). However, the games are evolving and the administration of the game has to evolve too. Again, we as officials have fractions of a second to make a live ball call. 5) One thing to remember and I hope everyone will take this to heart is that we, as officials, don’t go come to your accounting job and yelll and scream at you about how awful you are at data entry. I mean, come on, it’s just typing stuff on a keyboard. We don’t go to the doctor and tell him he’s awful because we don’t like what he told us. I get that every fan is passionate, as am I about my sports teams, but come on man, we are out there getting paid (not very much either, mind you) to do a job that we all love. I’m not making a lifestyle as an official. I have other sources of income. I do it because I enjoy the games and I enjoy mentoring young adults. Please be nice to officials. As a side note, in many states, it’s a felony to harass or otherwise abuse a sports official. Without us, you wouldn’t have anything to cheer for because the game couldn’t be played.

Hypothetical question
My bad Glenn. Was trying to walk a thin line and I probably overstepped. Apologies and if you need to lock it, I apologize to the OP.

Hypothetical question
I think the OP is not referring to a general workplace. And honestly, I have zero faith in the govt paying backpay. Although they always have, I can see it not going so well this time. My brother works for the FAA as an inspector. They aren’t getting paid. Remember that next time you board a flight…

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I didn’t make it until the end of the year. I bought two more egg wake/cranks at bass pro in BHam today. I bought chart/black back. Haven’t seen it yet, so I picked up 2. The egg is on the website now if anyone is interested…

What is the most expensive lure you've lost?
Gancraft Jointed Claw 230. I still know where it is. Just couldn’t get to it in cold water. Tried this summer, but the water level never dropped (like it does EVERY SINGLE YEAR).

Terminal Tackle Wallets, What's my options?
Nako makes one as well. However, I have no experience with either.

If you had a bass boat, FFS, SpotLock, and a bag of chips, do you think you'd catch more?
We can’t get stuff like that down here in AL Katie. However, when I lived in NH, it was like a different country… 😂😂

I ate a box of smoked Gouda cheeze-its for dinner. They were pretty good. Also, not sure of all you canadiens here, but yall might be onto something with yalls “all dressed” flavor.

Any chemists on here?
@wdp Dean is an actual chemist…I tried it in college once. Thought I wanted to be a chem engineer. That was just dumb.

Opposite of me. My son picked me up a handful of the 3/8 in Japan over the summer. No 1/2 there. I’ve been fishing a 3/8 regular or a 1/2 flex all summer. I’m excited to get some of the 1/2 at TW though…

Talk about Tackle----
You didn’t mention any found bags of chips though…

Good one. I’m a big fan of townhouse over ritz TBH, but for whatever reason, ritz is always what I buy….

Thank you. I was just about to post something saying the most important part of this topic is being overlooked! Are we talking local/regional varieties? Are we talking large bags/small bags. Ridges or not? Potato chips? Corn chips? Chips made from chickpeas? What gives here? Man, I gotta know. Is there a better time to eat them? And is it only chips? What about crackers like cheeze-it’s? Or chicken in a biscuit?

Sometimes you just have to let them go
Thanks again all! Was a tough day for sure. Now my shelter dog is jumping all around the house looking for her sister. She’s gonna be so depressed when it finally hits her. We had 2 GSDs when we were in college back in the day and my F got hint and died. My M died of what the vet called a broken heart about a year later. Sudden heart attack, no warning…

Sometimes you just have to let them go
I was deployed to Iraq again in 2011/2012. In spring of 2021, my wife and I purchased a German shepherd pup and raised her and she has been the BEST pup anyone could ask for. She started having a nose bleed about 4 weeks ago and I actually googled dog sleep apnea mask because she was so stopped up. Bloodwork showed an infection, x-rays unremarkable. Wife took her back into the vet yesterday to see about follow-on care with a specialist. They advised us to go to this specialty vet clinic here in downtown HSV. We had planned on going this am. However, about 11:30 last night, she had a massive seizure, so we ran her to the emergency room vet. After discussions with them, we have all come to the conclusion it’s time to say goodbye. She’s had two more seizures this am already and going downhill quick. We are trying to schedule in home euthenasia, but it’s all booked up right now. Like I don’t understand? How do I schedule my euthenasia 2 weeks in advance when this just kinda started in the last 24 hrs. So, we’re gonna probably take her to our vet this afternoon and have it done there. RIP Georgia Smira. You’ve been such a good pup to us all…
