  1. Praying for you and your family. Enjoy as much as you can, while you can.
  2. Sounds like a good time to spend some time in the shop respooling my arsenal for the spring.
  3. I am one of the weird ones around here that if it snows 12-18" in a day or two I purposely go for a drive just to have fun! I grew up very close to Crater Lake, Oregon. We would have anywhere from 3' to 10' on the ground during the winter. Dad used to buzz us over to the school on a snowmobile in the mornings. Then I moved to Utah for about 6 years and a foot of snow all winter long was normal. Now that I am living close to Portland, Or...I get a good chuckle every year when it snows an inch and the entire metro area shuts down like the apocalypse was upon us. 😆 In all my years growing up, the school was literally never closed for snow accumulation.
  4. I have never been a fan of Sitka or Kuiu. I am an archery hunter. I love my high end gear, but not in this case. Most of the gear they sell is ridiculously noisy. I am pretty anal about my hunting gear, including smell. I have quite the ritual for de-scenting my clothing prior to my one to two week trips. After a bunch of trial and error over the years, I have actually landed on cheap cotton. I buy the $15 long sleeve and $30 pants from Mossy Oak. For literally the same price as one or two full sets the expensive stuff, I have a fresh clean set of gear for every day of the week that I hunt (I camp in the woods, no washing machine). If I encounter a day that it is raining hard, I will wear a set of camos I have already worn again as the rain really cuts down on the scent. I have eight sets of camo's as opposed to one or two. It is very light weight, doesn't make a sound, and cheap to replace. This works very well. I have one set of Rivers West camo rain gear that is very nice, one Cabela's strata soft camo jacket, and one soft strata vest. I can honestly say I have never been too cold or too wet to be uncomfortable. But I also do not ever sit in a tree stand. I hike my butt off, and doing so have harvested 19 elk in the last 24 years.
  5. It works on Loomis rods in checkout. Does not display in cart.
  6. Thanks man. Saved that one out of a field just this last June actually. Had been parked for over 20 years. It is far from perfect, but I have been driving it A LOT, and it is a ton of fun. I literally cannot get a tank of gas without someone wanting to talk to me about it. And it is just an old, unrestored farm truck! Lol. This one is my baby, though. 😉
  7. In my neck of the woods, 4# smallies and 6# lmb's I consider trophy size. One, and only one particular lake I frequent has a large population of big lmb. When fishing there, my trophy fish percentage is about a third of my catches. Every other body of water in my area my percentage is very low. A 6+# bass here is like catching a DD in Texas or Florida.
  8. I thought rule #1 was never let suspects sit together and rule #2 was always wear gloves at a crime scene. Rule #9 is the most importantest though
  9. It was meant as an example of competing brands. But I guess I should take all my Shimano reels off my St Croix rods now that St Croix has Seviin reels? Or Maybe I should take my Diawa off of my Loomis salmon rod since Loomis is Shimano? 😆
  10. I don't think you can ever be too old or too young to catch bluegill!
  11. Who cares? Use what works for you. With that train of thought no one should ever wear a carhartt tshirt and a pair of levi's...
  12. 50% of my fishing is bank fishing and I have a boat and a kayak. 0% of my bass fishing is bank fishing.
  13. One last question as I have never seen one in person...Any idea if the curado dc or 200 dc green handle matches the green on the 70 mgl such as the star drag, etc? Online pics looks as though it could be a different shade.
  14. Excuse my ignorance, but which piece is the handle shank? You're talking about the handle itself correct?
  15. You have been a great help. I very much appreciate it.
  16. That is crazy! So the only way to get a dark handle with 2 bearing knobs without spending that ridiculous money is to use the bearings from the knobs I already have and order the 18 bantam handle assembly?
  17. This would be the 90mm met b lefty with the large knobs? https://fishshop.shimano.com/products/100nz?_pos=1&_sid=dcdda772e&_ss=r
  18. what about the met dc a? it has the darker color handle. does one of those models have a 90mm handle with the larger paddles and 2 bearings?
  19. Thank you for that help. I am having an off day with my google fu. I did fail to mention I have the jdm met B. I see I made an error in my post. 1 bearing vs 2 in the knobs...is it that noticeably smoother on the larger knobs/handles? Or would the first two you mentioned be a good swap?
  20. I have a 22 bantam 151 6:1, a curado 71k hg, and a 20 met b 151hg that all obviously have the shorter handles and smaller knobs. I am looking for factory replacements that match each of these reels with the handle length and knob size that comes on the curado k 201hg (assuming this is a 90mm handle? I can't find that info)...but...I would like them to match the reels respectively. I don't want to just put curado k handles on all three as I know the metals are different colors. I would like to purchase the entire assemble including knobs and hardware that I can just easily swap and not have to worry about other odds and ends like bearings, washers, etc. What factory shimano handles would look sexy on each individual reel? Looking here: https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/low-profile the part number listed on the schematics do not match the part numbers being sold, so I am confused. Bantam - assuming get the XG handle assembly? Is that 90mm? 94mm? Do they come with the larger knobs? Is there a 90mm handle that looks good or just go with the 94mm? Met B - assuming get the XG handle assembly? Is that 90mm? 94mm? Do they come with the larger knobs? Is there a 90mm handle that looks good or just go with the 94mm? Curado 71 - the handle is a nice anodized black. What would look good on this one? Thanks for your help. I am usually good at figuring this out, but the internet is confusing me this morning.
  21. Thanks, that gives me piece of mind. I have roughly $400 burning a hole in my amazon account.
