  1. In the USA, yes. That and air travel. In Japan, a lot of travel is done by train, and rod builds cater to this.
  2. That and the elongated narrower spool really helps with casting imho. It is very noticeably better to me. The weight savings are great. My favorite combo in my entire arsenal is a spinning rod. 6'10" Loomis Mag Medium DSR with a Vanford 2500. Crazy light weight. You can do a ton with that rod too.
  3. I own a Stradic, a Stradic CI4+, two Nasci, and two Vanfords. Personally, I would wait a paycheck and spring for the Vanford. Well worth it over the standard Stadic. The Nasci are very very good reals for the money if you want to go the opposite direction and save some money. I have both 2500 and 3000 sizes. Personally I see no reason to not get a 3000 over a 2500. Same frame and spools are interchangeable. The 3000's typically have a higher gear ratio.
  4. PS I knew what you meant. Just thought it was funny.
  5. How about crab creek public access?
  6. No I do not do social media like that.
  7. https://www.warbaits.com/shop/warblade/7?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc These are not bad. You can also just get a blade to slip over the hook as a trailer.
  8. Heck I am almost there just with my home. The equity in my home and the inflation over the last few years in my area has been a blessing personally, though, the price of everything else has gone up significantly.
  9. Does anyone fish this area? I have limited availability this fall, but I am looking to make a short trip over from the west side. I have always heard this is a great bass lake. I would be kayak fishing with oar power. How is access? Can anyone recommend a specific launch site knowing I will be paddling? Is it too big of water for this? Is there a different lake in the area that would be better to try out? I only have experience with long lake on the Spokane river as far as the east side is concerned. Caught some nice smallies there.
  10. Prayers for your family.
  11. white without question

  14. I love how you reach down and turn on the camera mid retrieve 😆
  15. Oh boy don't get me started. I am going to refrain and keep this simple. My opinions derive from buying/using an insane amount of spinnerbaits. There are TONS on the market, but only a few GREAT ones from a half dozen or less manufacturers. Dobyn's Beast (thank me later) Weight/color per situation (1/2 oz double willow shimmer shad 90% of the time in my waters) No trailer Cast and steady retrieve I catch more fish on this than all my other lures combined.
  16. They do not do cork. The handle is surprising. Feels slick, but is tactile when wet. Great handles for sensitivity. You can feel everything. I don't like all the rods, but there are some gems in there. I have this rod that was given to me by Gary. Also a 764 hvr baitcast rod. Both are great for sensitivity and super light weight.
  17. I realize that. I am saying that is a bit excessive for a JIG combo. Assuming you are talking about regular old jigs that require a heavy rod (pitching, football, etc). In which case a cheaper Loomis etc. will be just as good in that particular presentation. I have some high end gear myself, but my jig rod combo is about $360 total. No need for a super high end jig rod unless you have money to burn.
  18. $1k for a jig rod combo is a little extreme

  20. I must go here. Its only about a 6 hour dive.
  21. If you map a lake that the water level fluctuates throughout the year, do any of these units compensate for that? Does the technology exist to tell the unit to stay 5 or 10 feet inside or outside of the line if you know the water has gone up or down? What about if it is following a route, and the water gets shallow on the route. Can you program it to default to stay in water above say 2 or 3 feet or whatever the case may be? What if it is following a route and the motor contacts the bottom? Will it shut off? Will it back itself out of that spot?
  22. I fish for fun. 1 or 20 does not matter much to me. I do not count fish, but its easy to remember how many I caught during the day in the short term. The only time I am required to count fish is when salmon/steelhead fishing as I am required to keep a catch record for the state.
  23. I don't need credit. Happy to help and happy they are working well for you.
