Thoughts for a versatile spinning rod?
https://edgerods.com/product/bws-hsr-760-1 https://edgerods.com/product/bws-hsr-7600-1 Add a new Vanford 2500/3000 to that 760-1 and you will have an incredible all purpose, light weight spin rod. Probably all you would ever need.

I actually really like that color too! The red car is a similar story. 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury. 1 of 186 made with a factory 4 spd. 71k miles. Big block 452 stroker. 650 hp. No longer numbers matching though. The first owner bought it new. I'm the second owner. He owned a concrete company in Cali. Car sat in a warehouse its whole life and was only driven 1/4 mile at a time. Literally zero rust or dents. He pulled the factory motor/tranny and made it an auto car, but left the clutch peddle in thankfully. Converted it back to original during resto, but obviously did some internal motor work. Had to grab a T18 4 spd out of a cuda though.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Warbaits monkey is a fickle beast Buzzbaits look very nicely built, as do the jig heads. I expected the spinnerbaits to be much more robust wire by website description, but wanted to try the unique colors.

Oh yeah, and I play guitar I just picked up a 1971 k25 that has been sitting in a field for 20 years for $300. Put $600 of parts into it and have been driving it everyday since!

Favorite blade/pocket knife/multi-tool? What do you carry?
Older thread, but man I have a crazy amount of knives. I don't have a "daily" as I rotate them often. Benchmade 945 is currently in my pocket. I am a collector, and the knives I purchase are always with resale in mind. I don't think I own a knife that is under $200. I buy a lot of custom knives from makers that I have befriended over the years. Have several Matt Helm blades. Quite a few Benchmade knives. Ryan W., Ben Tendick, Dauntless to name a few. You can keep your Spyderco's. 😄

I've had nothing but issues with TW this season and shipping. Don't know if they changed things up or what the deal is.

Monthly fishing trip budgets
Nail on the head. I am blessed currently to be very financially stable. But with three kids playing club sports, and myself coaching travel baseball year round, I have not much time for my own hobbies. Heck I have a nice dirtbike that I have not ridden in almost two years now. Used to take it out every other weekend. Thats why I bought a kayak. My trips usually involve only a couple hours and I want to utilize the time as best as possible.

Someone rate my first FG knot attempt.
I have always just used a blood knot or a simple double surgeon's knot taken from my years of fly fishing and tying tippet to leader or leader to fly line. Both are super easy, super strong, and very low profile. No need to over complicate things.

Nothing gorge-ous about that wind....
Glad you got on some fish. I had the day to myself today, so I threw the kayak in and headed to the ramp. I could tell immediately coming over the hill and dropping into the 'shoug that I wasn't going out. Still drove on up. Parked at the ramp and walked the bank just to check things out. There's some really nice areas just east of the ramp, but really no way to get out past that weed line without the kayak. I fished inside the weed line for about an hour and got on one. Got tired of the wind, so I drove up to Drano and threw a few casts, then back down to little ashes this time and picked up a small LMB, then threw a few casts one more time just below Bonneville. Tried to sweet talk an old Indian into telling me where to catch the bass below the dam, but all he really knew about was his nets. Not much about bass fishing.

Walking the Dog
That sounds like a great way to start the morning! Those are all some really nice fish. I normally catch one or two that size each outing and then a lot of smaller ones. But you caught many! Sounds like that big girl just had her morning coffee and was ready to go! I love reading your stories.
