  1. Will this work? I got it as a gift and was wondering when i would be able to use it!
  2. Don't worry, he didn't land it
  3. MSRP 2399.99 I got a discount because it was an 06 (minimal differences, mainly the seat) and got 20% taken off. Considering i couldn't find it for anything less than MSRP, even on ebay, I jumped on the deal. Got it at Backyard Boats in Woodbridge. Spoke with Bob and Jay, both really helpful and friendly.
  4. As bassin1887 stated, the potomac fishery isn't what everyone is afraid of it's the possibility of the snakeheads spreading to smaller bodies of water.
  5. overblown...kinda like those jumping/flying carp? :
  6. LOL, hopefully that doesn't happen to me. I plan on gettin the sun shade and having her read magazines while pedaling the boat while i fish!
  7. I actually did the comparison shopping. She said find it and i'll buy it so i did. I bought it from a place in woodbridge that gave me 20% off because it's an '06. I checked it out and found that the differences between the '06 and the '08 are minimal so jumped on the deal. I'll PM you the info because i'm not sure about the rules on posting non-sponsering dealers.
  8. haha yeah, best part is that i took my GF fishing last weekend and even though she didnt catch anything she wouldn't mind fishing all day and was starting to like it. She was however very grumpy the next day when her arm was sore from casting.
  9. Slomoe, I have an SUV but I'm not ready to dish out for the roof rack set up. I'm also paranoid of damaging the yak or my car so i'll stick with my current set up. Right now i just load it into the back of my cargo van. If you're ever free you're welcome to come along to see if a kayak is for you. I bought a tandem for my GF and I but she's probably not going to come out with me very often, so there will usually be a free seat.
  10. paul, it's about 75lbs with the pedal systems on 60 without. I didn't want to have to drag/carry it either thats why i got the wheeels! Only takes one to carry it. After being thrown around by the wind in Simons inflatable i convinced myself that the pedal system with the rudder was a must. You're welcome to join me paul. we'll go out and get that first bass of the season if you haven't already.
  11. yeah, I've'll been creeeping aorund that forum lately. There are some things i was unsure of, thats why i asked for you help. I'll try it later this week.
  12. armesjr, did you do a permanent install of your transducer? I've got the suction cup right now but dont know how well it'll hold. If you're comfy doing the install i'd like some pointers.
  13. GF just paid off her car and decided it's been awhile since she got me a gift for no reason. so she got me this! photobucket link for more pix http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b181/andrewdo124/fishing/kayak/ Sorry about the huge pix, i'm not sure how to resize. It's a hobie outfitter, i put my fish finder in ghetto style and waitin to get some mounts. Tons of room. Can't wait to see how she moves. Planning on hitting the local lakes soon. Question is, which one to go to first!!!?!? Best GF ever? ;D
  14. Power pro, isn't that braided? I heard braided lines are bad because they are too light and the lure can float over the line catching the hooks.
  15. would a mono leader work? how long?
  16. I have some walkers i wanted to try out but i can't seem to get the right action with my spinning gear. I've tried it on 14# flouro but not working out too great. Do i have to use mono? Is it my retrieve? Any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated! If it is my line, is it ok to just tie a leader?
  17. glad to hear you finally got him. I've been fishing this one pond where this lunker took my jerkbait and made my drag scream for it's life then spit it out right in my face. Then a week later she followed my crank to within 3 ft of me and just turns and says NO THANKS! It always hapens when you're about to leave too...it's been eating at me everyday but i'm determined to land that sucker. I'm sure you were feeling the same way with that fish and now you're kind of relieved and satisfied.

No, I'm big on catch and release and I also suck at filleting. I'll let her get to 4lbs.

Already, on that. HAHA! It actually really really is. Tempted to buy a few more. Thanks to Rob for giving me the balls to throw it out. Crappie, from my experience, don't fight that well. They kinda just hit the lure and then come broadside and thats it Perch and Bream are a different story. I had no idea what it was when reeling her in. I've never seen a crappie that big in real life and i was just going nuts. Now i just need some big bass!
  20. Went fishing today at my confidence hole and straight slayed the dinks. 13 LMBs (biggest was only a little over a 1lb), a large bluegill, and 4 crappie including this giant! at 15"s and 2 lbs. 3oz. it's my new PB crappie Decent day of fishing, couldn't find the biggun's though. Senkos and my trusty megabass griffin produced today. I was trying to see if the bass were bedding but then realized i dont know what a bass bed looks like Can anyone give me an idea of what one would loook like?
  21. From the DGIF, "In 1999, a fishway was constructed at Bosher's Dam, providing fish with access to 137 miles of the James River and 168 miles of its tributaries for the first time in nearly 200 years. A camera at the fishway provides visitors a peek into this incredible journey as the fish return to spawn in the spring."
  22. holy cow! i've been watchin this cam since the start of march and this is the first time i've actually been able to see any fish in the cam!!
  23. lol, d**n trev. I work a flex schedule, only days i HAVE to be at the office are tuesdays and thursdays. Even then, i can just come in later. Let me know when and where and i'll try and make it.
