GPS help
On my last trip it worked fine. Last week when I went it never acquired my position. It just stayed on Lake Ray Roberts even though that wasn't where I was. When I traveled on the lake it wouldn't trace my trail or register a speed reading. It just flashed 0.00 mph. Also the time was flashing and the time was incorrect. Any ideals on what was going on and how to fix it?

Nice Fish
Wow.....what a fish. Seeing pictures of 13lbers like that make me really appreciate what monsters those Cali 20lbers must be.

tackle and baitmonkey
Dang monkey just got me for 122.92 and I all I was doing was checking out some tackle sites I had never heard of. Ended up with 2 Nishine Beatour M5 crankbaits(these do look really cool) 2 River 2 Sea Nest Riaders(I will probably use once, or never) 4 Lucky Craft Fat CB DBS 3 cranks I guess the good news is he got me good enough that I got a free T-shirt and shipping.

cumara
Very true. However, not really convenient if its a reoccuring problem. I'm sure mine was an isolated incident, but like I said I wasn't going to take the chance.

Casting Accuracy Spin VS Baitcst
With practice you can become very accurate with a spinning reel, but unless you put significantly more time in with a spinner than a baitcaster most people are going to be more accurate with the baitcaster.

cumara
You will if yours snaps at the reel seat on a hookset in the first month like mine did. I'm sure I just got a bad apple, but when I took it back to Cabela's I didn't take any chances and got a G Loomis. Before the breakage I did like the rod.

Does anyone else hate it as much as me. The old one was very user friendly and easy to read. This one IMO is complete garbage.

>>BR Lure Fun Season 2<<
I've been thinking about getting this lure for my Feb 24th and 25th Fork trip since the lure choice was announced. I'm super hung up about catching a Fork monster on it for some reason. So I'm going to make a deal. Whoever has it just before my trip, if they can get it to me by the 23rd and I don't catch at least a Fork 6lber on it I will buy them 2 of the exact same lure in the color of their choice. Takers?

Quantum Tour KVD Cranking Rod
Allegeldly. He may have very well used it all the time. He could of also threw it a couple of times and said he used it all the time. I'll wait until someone I know can provide first hand experience.

luhr jensen hot lips?
I have no experience with them, and it looks like nobody else does either. I would try reading the blurbs at Tackle Warehouse. Or Tackle Tour if they have done a review. Sorry I couldn't help.

>>BR Lure Fun Season 2<<
Holy crap!! Now i have to have that thing for my Fork trip. That is exactly the kind of bait we will be banging of the stumps that time of year. Great color and everything. If I get it for the trip and hang it up on a stump I will replace it with the exact same thing. I really hope I get that.

>>BR Lure Fun Season 2<<
If I could get it torwards the end of Feb. that would be great. I have a trip planned to Lake Fork for the 24th and 25th.

The National Championship
Florida lost to Ole Miss who I believe was unranked at the time. There will not be an undisputed champion this year. To many teams have a legitimate gripe. Probably none bigger than Utah.

Walk the dog topwater baits
Walk the dog style topwater are the best topwater in most scenarios imo. They are more sublte than poppers or buzzbaits, and can be worked fairly aggressive when necceary. They are always the topwater I start off with unless the windspeed dictates something a little noisier. The best advice I can give you is just skip other simiular baits and buy a Sammy. Sammy's are much eaier to walk, and will speed up the learning curve. The 15 dollars can seem a little steep, but remember its a topwater and you almost have to try to lose the thing. My favorite Sammy i've had for over two years. Its been the only one I've thrown in that two years so I would gladly drop another 15 bucks for one just like it. My wife know nothing about fishing, but when she was helping me clean the boat out the other day she saw that Sammy and said "Wow this thing has caught some fish." It has teeth marks all over it.

Lake Fork Trip - Good Guides? Is it worth it?
The negatives RW mentioned are true. However, any lake that will produce the number of quality fish fork is known for will have the same drawbacks. You should make the trip. Your talking about going with a guide so you will be fishing a good pattern where fish have been recently. You shouldn't have trouble catching fish behind people. Nobody can make the fish bite, but March is prime time for numbers of quality fish on Fork. I've never fished with Tom, but with all the positive info out ther on him he has to be good. If he is booked or you want to talk to someone else give Jason Hoffman a shot. Great fisher, works his butt off and is a real funny guy. I always have a good time with him. You really need to book right now though. The dates willl be filling up fast. Between Tom and Jason they will be able to give you the names of other great guides if they are not available.

The best rod, without question
RW, The rod last really. Seems that it has much more to do with detecting bites than any reel. If you don't feel them you ain't catching them. I think I have it above line as well. Most any line properly maintained and in good condition is going to get the fish to the boat. I guess it just goes back to the intent of the original post. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Where is Avid?
Glenn I don't know if your open to suggestions or not, but I totally agree with Flech on this one. Its frustrating if you want to get in touch with someone, but not sure if they are still actively coming to the site. Plus, it doesn't seem right that someone can't delete their own profile. We have several members that are sponsered. I would think that if anything is ever going on that they think their sponsors view as negative they should be able to delete their profile.
