  1. I start by saying that everything in this post is opinion. However I have no idea how anyone could know if a bass preferred small or large pinchers. What exactly is a small pincher? Did they prefer the samller pincher in the summer when a bass will typically take a smaller bait, or do they still like smaller pinchers in the colder monnths when one big meal is preferred to 5 small ones? Having said all this I think it is rare, almost never in fact, that a plastic craw will outperform a soft plastic craw imitator. My favorite is the ***(***). For some reasn a soft plastic craw, which looks much more like an actual crawdad, just never seems to work as well.
  2. Haven't seen her, but i've heard him talk about her enough to know he was more of a cattle man. We like em fat as well ;D. I hope i'm not opening myself up to the wrath of Muddy.

    Welcome .
  4. Welcome . You hit the nail on the head when you said this site is cool, but Roadwarriors' bass are funny colored.
  5. I agree 100%. I don't have facts or years of fishing info to back it up, but I think this is how they know it times, IMO. I think we tend to tie it to water temps b/c obviously as the days get longer the water temp rises typically. We used to show cattle and you put them in a cooler with the lights out b/c the cold temps and darkness promotes hair growth. The more hair the better. They do the opposite with horses. Put them in barns with the lights on, usually not even heated. The horses are still on long day patterns and don't grow hair. Horse people like very little hair.
  6. Ok i'll be the dumba**. What in the world is a haiku?
  7. Nothing like the hooking. I love slamming back the rod and feeling that I have something on the other end.
  8. I got a pack of the 7" from Brent. We have a pond in our neighborhood that I can walk to in less than a minute. So I grabbed a Bud Light and a smoke and went to try them out as soon as I got them. When I reached the pond i hadn't finished the smoke so I cast to an open area right inside the gate to watch the action. As soon as the thing hit the water a fish slammed it. Of course with a beer and a smoke in my other hand I hadn't even turned the handle on the reel. So I grabbed the spool as tight as I could and gave the best one handed hook set you've ever seen. Then scramble to set everything down. Really pumped up now b/c I can turn my total attention to the hog that has eaten the huge worm. After a short fight I got it in and it was a whopping 2-3 inches longer than the bait at most :. I was a little let down to say the least. To be fair my buddy did catch a 5+ later in the week though. I think I would start orering 6's instead of 5's if you carried them.
  9. Coveralls .
  10. We can always count on you Avid ;D
  11. I'm not taking of my glasses thier famous. LOL The kid is a spoiled brat, but he has some greatness. I'm with Avid.
  12. What I can't believe is that Countrywide is coming back into the market, and Bank of America is lending them money to do it.
  13. So strange.
  14. JWO, I hope my advice helps, and I wish that I could tell you to follow your heart. However, I decided to stop going to school w/ about 70% of a degree completed, and today I regret it. Actually the dean after reviewing my grades one semester decided I should stop going for a semester, but I essentially decided to quit when I stopped going to class. All of this after being on the Dean's List for two years. I'm very fortunate now to have a job making very good money, but I lucked into it through a friend when the housing market was good. Before that job I was working in a machine shop and drinking 3/4 of a gallon of Carlos Rossi sangria to forget how terrible my day was. I can't imagine what I would do if I lost my job in home sales, and could not get another one. I'm pretty sure that with no college degree it wouldn't be pretty. I know that you might not think thats its all about money, and you are right 50-60k is a decent living. However, as Cajun said eventually you start wanting the things you want. I can't advise taking a semester off either. Most of the people I know, including me, don't make it back after doing this. I know Tin and some others did, but they should be congratulated for being better than most. It also really sucks everytime I think about college. It something I didn't finish, and as a more mature man now that bothers me. So many jobs now require a college degree. Not necessarily in that field, but a degree. Say you work as a restaurant manager for one place 10 years then it goes out of business. Are you sure that restaurant manager won't need a college degree 10 years from now. Keep in mind that this is my advice even though I make a much better living in my current profession than I would of in my degree field. You can do it, and you are so close in the big picture.
  15. Huge fish great picture. I wouldn't of thought twice if you would of said 12lbs.
  16. Muddy, I agree 100%. I thought Alpsters turned out really great and undoubtedly he earned it.
  17. LOL.........Anime other totally owned me.
  18. I'm confused. They don't look anything alike at all. Most worms are long and slender with a curly or strait tail. Kind of like a pencil. A tube is short and fatter with a bunch of strings hanging off one end. Also a tube is generally hollow. I guess a ring worm sort of looks like a tube, but still pretty different. Maybe if you posted a pic of what you are calling a tube and a worm we could help more.
  19. I betting t-rig owns it as well. There is a picture of the walk the dog bait on tackle tour. The glitter in the liquid supposedly mimics scales falling off a wounded baitfish. Find that cable. I would love to see a pic of the crank.
  20. My initial impression of the idea was not good. I understood all along from LBH's post that they had every intention of running it right to solve the problems it could create. I still think that if it is not ran perfectly feelings could get hurt, but Glenn and all the mods are very good at running a first class ship. So I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt to give it a go if wanted. Its pretty cool to give good people the attention they deserve if it can be done in the right way. If anyone can do it Bass Resource can. 8-).
  21. Call and ask Peter if the 149 Curado's are eligilble for rebate. He will be honest with you.
  22. Flechero, Simmons sporting goods sales curados for $150.00. I spoke with Peter when I called. Very helpful. There online store has several great prices. They are a lot closer to us than NJ. Should have your order in 2-3 days.
  23. I don't know if they are real, but they have Curados for 160. I just got them for 150 from Simmons Sporting Goods. So it is possible.
  24. I'm going to catch an 8 plus this year.
  25. We are having a game night here at our home. We do it every year. Our christmas gift to our friends. Everyone be safe please.
