Cabela's Guidewear
Does Cabela's have a lifetime warranty or just great customer service? Hopefully I won't have any problems with it but just in case.

Cabela's Guidewear
I had never heard any negative reviews on the guidewear either. For the price I don't think I could really go wrong. They are actually having a special today if you spend at least $150 you get an extra $20 off and they give you a free Cabelas advanced angler tackle bag ($60). So I went ahead and ordered the un-insulated suit and all for about $250.

Cabela's Guidewear
I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this topic. Anyway, I was checking out the cabelas bargain cave and saw their guidewear rain suits are on clearance. I can get the whole suit for for less than $300 it seems like a pretty good deal to me. I was also looking at the BPS 100 mph suit which has a removable liner, but I didn't see one for the cabela's suit. Do they have one? I know they are both some of the best raingear you can buy but how about keeping you warm? Since I will mainly be using it for winter fishing at dale hollow. I'm hoping it will be light enough to use all year long if need be though. What do you think?

Best Pole Size And Line Weight For Deep Crankbaits
I use a 7'11 MH Cumara with a Curado 200e5 with 12# seagaur invisx. Some times I go down to 10# depending on the depth I need to to hit and the type of bottom. Deep cranking requires long casts so the bait is in contact with the bottom as long as possible. The long rod and smaller diameter line allows the bait to run deeper and flouro helps it get down a little deeper too since it sinks. It will be very hard for you to reach max depth with 20# line. If you have your drag set correctly you should have no problem landing big fish on smaller line.

Punching Setup
7'11 Loomis BCFR 954 GLX and a Curado 200e7 with 65# sufix braid. Thats on the high end of the spectrum, but any heavy/fast rod with a high speed reel will do. The high speed reel is a must have to move the fish out of the grass quickly.

Chronarch 200E7
Yes while the refinement may be because its new, there was a difference to me anyway. Is it worth the extra cash over a curado e? Thats for you to decide. I am still not totally sold, as it has yet to even fight a fish. I'm lucky enough to have money to spend on new things so I do. I could tell you its the greatest reel Shimano ever made or I could tell you its not worth paying $20 for. It's just an opinion. Take it with a grain of salt just like I take anyone else's.

Chronarch 200E7
Well the 200E saw its first action yesterday but not at Guntersville like I had hoped. I ended up fishing a local tournament and it was more of a cranking day then a jig day. So it didn't see as much action as I had planned. From the few times I did get to use it I will say that it is a little more refined than the curado it so closely resembles. It casts great and is silky smooth on the retrieve. I agree that it will take a few outings to get it fully broken in, but it feels great right out of the box. However, I did have one issue with it. After spooling up friday night I went out in the backyard to make a few casts, but first I had to set the brakes. I opened the side plate set the brake and it would not close and lock. I don't know if it was just missing the groove or just needed to locked and unlocked a few times to break in. It seems to be working fine now. I had to adjust them a couple times yesterday fishing in the 30+ mph winds of a thunderstorm. I can't decide if I should sent it back bc of that or keep it since it works now. Also, it got pretty wet lying in the boat during the rain. I dryed it off when I got home but should I do anything else? I will try to get a better a review for ya'll when I get to use it more, but for now thats is all.

Looks like the chronarch will see its first action on Guntersville tomorrow.

Chronarch 200E7
I'm not sweating it too much bc I thought the curado e was worth more than $179. This chronarch will make is mark just like my 50mg did. I'm a proud member of the posse. I know they wouldnt put out a bad product

Chronarch 200E7
Ill give you a review after this weekend I hope. As for where its made TW says made in Japan but I haven't looked at the box. And I didn't buy the curado bc I have 4 of them and I like the colors of the chronarch. And I'm a tackle junkie. Lol

Chronarch 200E7
RW I'm sure I will love it just as much as all my other shimanos. It even comes with the cloth shimano bag. Just saying initially it feels exactly like a curado 200e7.

Chronarch 200E7
Well I ordered the new Chronarch and it came in today. My initial reaction is why did spend $200 on a black and white curado... It does look pretty sweet on my dobyns champion rod though. Even if its nothing more than a black and white curado e I will love it cause I have 4 of them. I haven't spooled it up yet but I suspect I already know what I'm getting into. Hopefully I can break it in this weekend.

New Crankin Combo
So I splurged on myself for my birthday. I bought a new rod and reel even though I told myself I was holding out for a new boat. I bought a curado 200E5 and a 7'11 cumara reaction rod. It's so light! I saved $50 too since the curado's are on clearance plus BPS sent me a coupon for an extra $10 off. Now just have to add to my deep crank collection... Time for some more Lil John DD's!!!! Can't wait to use it this weekend on the TN river!

Looking To Put Together A Crankin' Setup...thoughts?
I've got 2 crankbait setups right now and about to add a third. First is a 7'0 MH MF crucial with curado 200DPV, the 2nd is a 6'6 MM crucial with a chronarch 50mg. The MH is good for pretty much any crankbait from small square bills to DD22's. The M is excellent for throwing small cranks like bandit 200-300. My next setup is going to be a Chronarch 200 D5 and a MH 7'11 cumara for deep diving cranks. Also, I had been using yo-zuri hybrid 10# for my cranking which is great, but this yr I'm gonna try flouro to get a little more depth out of them.

Kvd 1.5 Or 2.5 Chart/black = Where
No where in Nashville area that I've seen. But BPS has the the excalibur xc200/300 in that color. They are little more expensive but they run true straight out of the box. I wore 'em out on percy priest this week with that bait.

old hickory tournament partner
Yeah the closer you get to the dam, the colder the water gets and the less boats you see. I've caught some big fish around 7 points in the winter. Me and a buddy doubled up 5# smallies off the rock pile 2 yrs ago Jan. on a red eye.

old hickory tournament partner
how'd you do? My buddy told me there were like 30 boats in spring creek this morning... LOL. Wish i was there though! I was taking a boat for a test drive at Old Hick though, maybe by next weekend I can be one of the many in Spring creek.

buying my first boat
The motor is an Evinrude Intruder 150... any opinions on this? It's not a Ficht, which is really the only reason I'm even considering an Evinrude. I would really prefer to have a Merc or Yamaha but they are hard to come by.

buying my first boat
Thanks for the advice! I'm going to check it out tomorrow and take it for a test run. I'm taking my buddy who does some outboard motor work along with me too.

buying my first boat
So, now that I have a stable job it's time to buy my first boat. I've looked and saved $ for about a year now and I think I have found the one. It's a 98 triton Tr-18 DC w/ an evinrude 150. What should I look for that would tell me not to buy this boat? What kind of questions should I ask? I know I need to check the compression and see if there is any water in the lower unit but what else do I need to know. Also, he's asking $7500 which seems about normal for a bassboat of this size and age. The only thing is it doesnt have any electronics he said they was stolen. I can use that as a bargaining chip but how much really? Any advice would be great! Thanks
